  3. Tina Why is she the best? Elaborate? pubby Come on now, tell a story about why you think she should win. pubby I understand but can you tell a story that would illustrate why you think so much of Paster Matt? pubby
  4. I don't think I'd get greased up this time. For the record, in an effort to preserve body heat, I covered my bod with vaseline petroleum jelly and then wrapped myself in cellophane and then put on my clothes. I think if folks on the Titanic had greased up like I did, they could have survived their dunk in the north sea that fateful night. pubby
  5. Dana: It was my pleasure as well. You should know you are the first to get one of the new $10 MacFarlane's gift certificates and I'll make the same offer to everyone who purchases an annual membership by dropping by the office and paying. This offer is good through the end of June. pubby
  6. I will recall that it was about 50 degrees that St. Patrick's day ... and I must have been dunked close to 20 times ... that was brutal ... especially when folks dispensed with throwing the ball and just ran up and pushed the dunk bar. A hot summer's day dunk ... that would be much better. pubby
  7. Curtis a great guy but his role is more professional sales and management than retail clerking ... The nominee in his office would more properly be the receptionist ... but an insurance agency is not a retail agency. I guess the thing I would suggest is that anyone with an office is disqualified for this contest.... Not that I don't endorse everything you said about Caped Crusader. pubby
  8. BEST SERVICE EMPLOYEE CONTEST We're opening nominations for Paulding's best service employee. The winner of this contest - you'll get to vote - will get a minimum prize of $100 cash ... maybe more if we get additional sponsors. What we're expecting is that you, the PCOM audience, will nominate local service workers - waiters, waitresses, sales clerks, food preparers, cashiers ... anyone whose job is to greet and meet the public and help you the customer enjoy your visit in a retail setting - by telling the story of their service and how it made your day brighter and your experience m

  10. gulp, sniff, nice vintage. pubby
  11. You may not have ever heard of Gary Reese but he is a journalist collegue of Bill Shipp, Matt Towery and Dick Petty's ... and if you've not heard of those folks, then you are simply unaware of the Georgia punditry. Shipp, btw, recently retired but Towery is a big regional and national GOP strategist and former office holder ... and Petty ... Here's something about him: I didn't say that the 'story' is out. But I was just pointing out the 'insiders' are already talking about the 'powder keg' that is Paulding. Not every powder keg blows up, I might add. pubby
  12. Beachbum: I do think you're a bit quick to yell slander. There is a document (contract) and there was a payment for 'transition services' that some may have an opinion was not as straightforward an agreement as it appears. Indeed, the suggestion that public money was or is being wasted for the hiring or firing of some individual is pretty much as public matter and one on which individuals are, well within their protected speech rights. Citizens are able to form and articulate an opinion of official government actions and it is improper to classify it as slander unless it wer
  13. A link is not going to do you much good unless you want to fork over hundreds for a subscription. However, I was lucky enough to read the story - don't know how I rated but I don't anymore - but you can verify the existance of the story through google. Yep, google is your friend. Use the following search words: paulding political powderkeg ... and you'll see its listing under Bill Shipp's Georgia. You click on the link and you get the logon for subscribers. You check the subscription cost it is expensive - in the hundreds for just permission to read. Wait: I found it cached on
  14. Surepip: I'm sure that both Ms. Crook and Mr. Shearin would object to the use of the term "hush money" in regard to the contract that he authorized for 'transition.' As to the expenditure of the $750,000 for legal fees, I'm sure the county has the attitude of millions for defense but not one cent for tribute. From their perspective, you objecting to the 'program' was an act of defiance of the powers that be that could not be tolerated. I always wondered how and why the county and taxpayers got stuck holding the bag on the suit as the dispute, as I recall, was more between you and

  16. does your camcorder have a "memory stick" or a firewire port? If it has a memory stick, save it to that and it should be in a format that you can use. check the camcorder manual as well. sorry I can't be of more help. pubby

  19. While the county attorney is ready and eager to give advice on matters of law and even legal aspects of the budget, I don't see that role as a conflict MCMM ... just because Glenn Richardson is a partner at the firm. The budget promises to be an acrimonious exercise on the local level and I'm sure there is need for the commission to explore the legal ramifications of their proposals. For instance, as in years past, the various constitutional officers have specific duties and they can get down right nasty if the commission tries to do too much like, say cut $2.5 million from the SO
  20. For those interested in the tangental topic of how this is all Obama's fault, those posts have been moved HERE pubby
  21. Don't have much in terms of details of why... but LPPT called to see if there was anything on pcom about why the traffic was backed up 'half-way to the courthouse' on 61 North. Traffic was moving some ... she called and said it was a multiple car pile up right in the vicinity of or just before Northside Elementary (Paulding Meadows/Pumpkinvine Creek).. probably not horrifically serious in terms of injuries but someone was taken by ambulance to Dallas? Regardless... a heads up... if you have a need to stop and shop for something, you might go ahead and do so if you're headed up 61
