I've received a report from another news agency searching for the identity and photo of a soldier from Paulding who has given his life in Afghanistan. The news agency asking assistance did not have a name and pcom is unaware of whom it may be. Still the news, if accurate, is exceptionally sad. - pubby

Call Your LOVED ones and Tell them...
gpatt0n replied to Caped Crusader's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I just left Hiram headed toward Dallas (and the office) and while there was a nice bit of rain for a moment along 278, there wasn't any notably high winds. What was most interesting was that in the few minutes it took to drive the five or six miles west, the outdoor temperature dropped from 82 to 69 degrees. pubby -

Surepip: Because the special master in arbitration had set this as the value, the county was pretty much resolved that was going to be the amount ... that the appeal from the special master netted the plaintiff no more money means it is a victory. Indeed, I've gotten a correction on some information that says that the county had already put up the entire $3.2 million ... in a bond to the court. Here is the info I got by PM. Of course a good part of the misinformation came from the competing views of what was presented by opposing counsel. Oh well. The above, from on -

How did you get that LPPT wanted the county to fail? That made no sense at all. As far as slowing down the development ... LPPT ... that would have been more likely had the award been $5 or $10 million instead of the $3.2 million actually awarded. In fact, as the story pointed out, a round of mediation came up with the exact $3.2 million figure and from the time of the condemnation, there has been $2.5 million held in escrow as that was the figure the county agreed to when they chose to condemn the property (actually the low appraisal.) Basically the county expected to pay that -
These engines and tranny were, in a different state of tune I believe, first used in the Cadillac and Pontiac G8 ... so they've been around. pubby I understand, you wait for a new car to be used, depreciate and when it is at its nadir of value, you buy it figuring it will end up making you money. But all that aside, I like your observation about not being a conservative. We finally agree on something wholeheartedly. pubby

Eric's chief, I'm sorry to hear of Gail's passing. I know through you, the times and efforts that your entire family endured and how their lives have become so interdependent. I know you all were prepared but at the same time, there is no way to prepare for the void that materializes in the daily life that had been full. Your tribute, though, is exceptional and demonstrates the humanity and love that exists in your clan. May God bless you and all your family. pubby

PSD: I have to admit, you are a true conservative ... stuck in the 60s. The 2010 is a refined, fuel-efficient, clean, safe, powerful, refined automobile with all independent suspension, four-wheel disk brakes, full air-bag system and six-speed tranny and that beats the torque rush of a 396 with solid axle, front disk/rear drum with a four-on-the-floor) anyday. Better is just plain better! And from the reports I've read/viewed - this one is more fun too boot in an any fool can be uncomfortable sort of way. pubby

I don't figure they are sure ... or at least the PIO was not informed of that aspect. What I do know is tha that Cobb has a contingent that works very closely with ICE ... and if immigration is an issue, it will be explored. pubby -

One bit of news regarding the Ledford trial is actually no-news... i.e. that the trial will go on. That news was that a deal was reached between the public defenders office and the defense attorney's in the trial for payment of some $60,000 due them for their defense. pubby -
