BOC County rolls back millage to avoid tax increase
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
You say that after you folks spent years telling me that I ought to shut the hell up I'm confused Oh wait ... is this just the only way that you can criticize what I did meaning if I'd done what you asked then you'd have said I left something out for political reasons. You know kind of like a lot of you criticize Obama for not getting involved in Syria and then when he does something, criticize him for that ... i.e. criticize what ever he does... Yeah, I get it pubby -
This is an interesting video for those who are crafters. It comes from PBS. Basically all it takes is an illustrated book, an xacto knife, glue and a piece of glass to create a unique bit of art.

BOC County rolls back millage to avoid tax increase
gpatt0n replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Nice Green, I was videoing the event, not taking notes. I spent my time editing the video (hours). The tax rollback was discussed and it wasn't much, a couple of mills at most, to offset the increase in the digest and avoid a tax increase... i.e. don't expect an increase in taxes due. The support materialized for the expansion of surveillance on the SCT. The number of cameras, etc. will be increasing to as many as five or six times the number currently on the trail. pubby -
The Paulding Board of commissioners voted unanimously to lower the millage rate on the taxable property in the county rolling back the tax rate to compensate for increased values. The commission also did some other business including approving plans for the expansion of video surveillance on the Silver Comet Trail. Public support for that project in the wake of the savage and senseless beating of a resident on the trail in late July. Early in the meeting the commission was given a report by the county's new Ambulance Service which took over EMS activities in January. Click for RECENT

Well, the target we nixed looked to be a tank or artillery piece. That type of armament is hard to both use and hide. As far as the challenges of urban warfare - your caravan of 20 small cars and vans - this is the reason we are not really capable of engaging them ... but then those who are native to the country are able to challenge and vette these kinds of folks much more effectively. That is why boots on the ground is fraught with challenge. The real challenge we face there is knowing who we are backing and fighting. I think, for instance, that Maliki was a real bad selection -

I think they're actually more vulnerable to attack than you imagine and, in regard to Vietnam ... remember that bombs were a lot dumber in those days (and the north Vietnamese had been fighting a civil war for a long time.) I'm sure that tunnels and underground bunkers can be built in Iraq but there is also a tremendous difference in the level of signals intelligence here too. Basically, their oil does them no good if they can't collect it, ship it and sell it and the routes, tools and abilities to gum up the works in a multitude of 21st century ways should not be discounted. (BTW, the

Basically, Iraq was the intransigent force in the negotiations and wanted us out. Obama would have been more than happy to have left a few folks there but - of course - this is Obama's fault ... Kind of like the sun coming up in the morning and going down in the evening is Obama's fault. Zorro, GOP credibility has evaporated here. Let me make the point this way: Here is a National Journal article written at the time of the exit which was critical of Obama's language announcing the withdrawal and saying that it was a coverup for the failure of the US policy (that Obama supported) to

I know this is sad but I think it a miracle he lasted this long given the nature of bipolar mentalities. Many manics burn out like shooting stars much earlier in life. I think we were all blessed by his presence. I wish he could have lasted like a Sam Clements or Johnathan Winters. pubby

The City of Hiram Police have issued warrants seeking the arrest of Zachary Ryan Shipp, 24, of Powder Springs for higjacking and stealing a 2012 Toyota Camry 4S (NC plate BKH9471) at the Racetrack Gas Station at roughly 6pm August 8th. Shipp, who was known to the store's assistant manager, victimized as patron who was fueling her car by first asking if he could borrow her phone, a request to which she complied. After fumbling with it, Shipp threw the Samsung Galaxy III phone to the ground smashing it and hopped into the victim's car. The victim sought to remove him from the car bu

They've been taught a totally absurd way to discuss politics ... It is entertaining but the approach that Rush et.al employ is just not an effective way to nurture and even discover good public servants. pubby

How Can This Happen In Georgia. Who's Running Our State?
gpatt0n replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
More great press ... at least Deal got us on top of a list with other GOP presidential contenders (although he's number one on this list, he's not at all in that race.) The article is Salon's piece on "Shockingly Sleazy GOP Governors which covers Republican governors from NJ, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Florida and maybe a few more. The incidence of questionable activity does seem a bit more than a coincidence but then, when you look around and see what all this negative campaigning has wrought, you begin to wonder if it provides even a bad guide on how to select elected officials in -

TP: I can hear those folks now, down on the hunting club property waiting to bag a few deer and letting the whiskey do some of their talking. The subject turns to politics and the hunters, one of which owns a fictional peanut factor like the one cited. Trust in government is down dramatically. Why? Because of the people we put into government. think about it folks. pubby -

Sheriff Gary Gulledge (center), Parks Director Michael Justus (right) and Government Services Director Chuck Rann (left) survey one of the locations where cameras will provide enhanced security on the most used portion of the Silver Comet Trail in Paulding. With the reward for the arrest and apprehension of the man who assaulted Tina Waddell on the Silver Comet Trail now topping $20,000, Paulding's government looks to expand remote camera surveillance on the trail from the county line on the east to Mt. Olivet Road on the west. The case of Ms. Waddell has apparently baffled l

I don't think we armed the ISIS rebels at all and I think many on the right (McCain et al) were very critical of Obama for not providing arms. We did provide some of the rebel groups in Syria with training but my understanding did not provide arms and vetted those receiving the training because we were, all along, concerned of such issues. Did members of ISIS get access to small arms and training in American style tactics? It may appear so but the difference is very much like saying that all good Americans should own a gun but not realizing that criminals get guns by stealing them fr

Does anyone remember David Austin's 2008 campaign

I am kind of perplexed at the effort at bashing whitey. I mean you have just as good a chance of reversing the 2000 presidential selection as you do of having a recount and change of the 2008 election of David Austin vs. Jerry Shearin. Given that it does no good, what's the point? Tell you what. Come up with a good policy reason to continue this discussion of the 2008 commission chairman race and I consider not closing this topic ... but give me some bs reply or talk about how I'm censoring it or some other bull whammy and I'll close it and bury it. Be honest and admit you're j
