  1. That happened to me a couple of years ago and it made me not want to post so much any more. I read and re-read every post I put on here. You realize that whatever goes into a public forum is there forever!! Isn't it? I just never want anything to come back to haunt me, nor do I want to be unkind. After all, I don't want my children and grandchildren who know me to think I'm a meanie. Cause I'm not.
  2. I was going to ask her when my dishwasher finally dies - but I tell you what - I'll ask her this afternoon and pm you. Is that okay?
  3. The cutest ones I saw was two siblings (very young) and one had the Cheese head hat and orange shirt and the other had swim noodles all sectioned and tied to him and they were "Mac & Cheese". You'd have had to been there.
  4. "Online" you can be anything you want to be - own a sports car, be taller than you really are - I think I heard that in a song. I guess it's a good thing that we are all adults (though some more mature than others) so that we don't take things so personally. Yes, there are some bullies online and no matter which public forum you go on, you'll always get some remarks that don't set well. Even though, I'm sure some of the remarks are typed when the poster doesn't mean it to be so mean. We have to be careful what our fingers set to reply. Our voice is not heard so we don't know the spirit in
  5. Like the original poster, my dishwasher is 17 years old also. When we had our house built, we had to downgrade all the appliances so that we could put that $$ into other things we 'simply couldn't live without'. Now my dishwasher is making a loud noise and I'm going to use it until it just lays down and dies. Then I'm going to BrandsMart and get one like my daughter-in-law's. Her's is so quiet and you don't have to pre-wash your dishes either.
  6. Boys are so much fun!!! You can't dress them fancy, but that doesn't matter.
  7. My granddaughter's name is Macey - just to keep it from being confused with the store at the mall. And her middle name is a little odd to me: LeeAnn - a capital letter in the middle of her middle name.....
  8. When I was a kid, I always wanted a bicycle tag with my name on it, but the only ones I could ever find had only one "n" and my name has two "n's". After I got into my 50's, I decided it didn't matter how somebody spelled my first name as long as they could get my last name correct.
  9. Wouldn't you have to have a mega- bunch of them to take to the scrap yard?
  10. Like the original poster, I am worn out after having my granddaughter over. Her mom went away on business when she was younger and I had her for 3 days. I had to get her up, get her dressed and off to school. I was just getting into the routine when mommy came and took her home. I was lost for a few days afterward. I missed her so much!!! I know that I could and WOULD do it if necessary, but I am so thankful that my grannychildren have awesome moms and dads. Now I only get to help with pick up after school and try and sneak in some fun moments. BUT - they are accessible to me at a
  11. He might just want some quality time with you. I like the idea of the light shows. Stone Mountain or Lanier Islands should have theirs by then and you won't have to drive a long distance to get there.
  12. I laughed - we need a little comic relief from all this..... 'I haven't left my house in days. I watch the news channels and all the news stories are about the election; all the commercials are for Viagra and Cialis. Election, erection, election, erection -- either way we're getting screwed!' -- Bette Midler.
  13. When my friend was young and just married, living in south Georgia the armadillos are more plentiful. They had been getting into her trash can regularly, so when her husband saw them out there one evening, he grabbed his shotgun and was going to shoot them. However, about 2 minutes out, he came screaming to the back door for her to let him in. After putting some buckshot on them (note ON them, not IN them), they chased him back indoors. After that, they decided to use some traps. Her husband said he never wanted to have another faceoff with an armadillo.
  14. I signed up for Trunk Fest at West Ridge Church on Friday 29th 7pm - 9pm. Come on out and bring the kiddies. I think they need 160 cars for treats. I don't live in a sub-d so I don't do Halloween, so this is a treat for me too!!! What did they do?? I'm interested - pm me if you don't want to post it, but I'm really curious!!!
  15. We had a really steep hill that went through the neighborhood on the side street and I was only allowed to go to the spur track, but that was enough because it was right at the crest of the hill. We'd ride our bikes up and down that street all day long. I lived on the main road so I had to push my bike to the side road before I could ride. Isn't it funny how our moms always 'knew' what we were doing. My mom couldn't tell whether or not I went over that railroad track or not, but I never did. I guess it's like knowing all the moms in the neighborhood, we always felt we'd get told on.
  16. Trying on a new pair of concrete boots in the lake would be a good start.
  17. My son got one when he was transported to Tanner from Ridge Road. I thought that $800 was a little steep, but then they DID get him to the hospital before he died. I guess when you weigh the bill vs. life, it's a little less painful.
  18. I'm sorry, but I hate to think of any company having financial difficulties. I don't enjoy reading about other people's hardships. I called Clark's once when my mother was living and they came out to the house and helped me with her and I asked them what the charge for what they helped me with was and was told 'if we don't transport her, there's no charge'. I thank goodness for folks like that.
  19. Somebody is helping them hide, surely. I'm guessing if they went off in the woods together that they don't have cars??? So..... contact their best friends and find out what they know. We were all teenagers at one time and the STUPIDEST thing I ever did was drive up to Ringgold.
  20. It's very close and on the same side at the tatto place. But I don't remember the name either. It's a 'closeouts' store I think.
  21. Nah - even that's too mild. Do you remember the older lady who went to the nursing home and shot both of her sons because they had inherited this horrible disease from their father? She did it because they asked her while they were still able to. She did it because she loved them and didn't want to see them suffer anymore. This is a horrible, horrible disease and it's heartbreaking. I also think they released the lady before her entire sentence was served, because she was no threat to anyone. Now they regret their actions -- I seriously doubt that. They regret that bad things are h
  22. It would be nice to know why the Paulding part is not prominent. Since WE'RE the ones footing a lot of expense.
  23. That's the same thing my granddaughter's big brother told their mom. Its depressing to watch the news. To everyone who has a loved one serving, please know that my prayers are with them EVERY MORNING AND EVERY NIGHT (and sometimes in between). Say a big thank you to them and also to you for raising these fine men and women.
  24. Are you okay tonight? Threads get off topic all the time here. I'm sure you noticed this is not the first time......
