  1. I think the biggest change that I have noticed in a lot of people is that saving money and being thrifty is now cool and people get excited to do it. For example the coupon clippers, in years past people may not have been that excited to post what they saved at a grocery store. I have started growing my own vegetables and shopping at stores that I can get the best deals not just what is close by. We watch our entertainment budget and try not to do impulse buying and buy what we have to have. Thanks for the recipe sites. I am so excited about this.
  2. I have to agree with Oscar the Villa Rica Gold Museum was wonderful this year. It is $4 for the museum part and $5 for panning. There is a covered picnic area and hiking trails. My girls 9,7,and 4 loved it. The Tellus in Cartersville is AWESOME as well. The kids do a fossil dig, there is a hands on part and gem stone panning. My kids loved the planetarium the best though. We bought season passes to Tellus and go all the time. It was the best money I spent this summer. I wold recommend these two places to anyone visiting.
  3. I would love to know the recipe? Where did you get it?
  4. I tried to search Fox news site but didn't find anything.
  5. It is exit 312 off of 75. I go there a lot when I go to TN. Anyone with children should know that the prices at The Children's Place and Gymboree are awesome. I can't afford regular Gymboree but the outlet prices are great.
  6. From my understanding, it was only in the Atlanta area that the name was changed, and it was because they thought that more people would go there if the name was in English, someone from the county told me that.
  7. About two weeks ago, we were vacationing at Hilton Head. I took a walk down the beach with my four year old. She was picking up tiny broken shells. Every time she found one that was curved she called it a shark toe nail.
  8. I read once that vinegar will do the trick. Never tried it though.
  9. I have a workshop that starts on Monday. In the email it said that Monday would be a working lunch. Does that mean to bring my own lunch or lunch will be provided? Is anyone else going it is at Mathews (MSP)?
  10. Last year Santaland was closed and the only attractions opened there was the bear exhibit and gem stone panning.
  11. We did gem stone panning there and my 9 and 7 year old loved it.
  12. I have watched the show from the beginning and I agree. Kate does treat Jon like a kid. He has allowed it to happen for the whole time the show has been on the air. She explains it as she doesn't have time to nicely discuss with him what she needs him to do. For many years she did stay home and he went to work. At the end of the season last year he said he didn't want to do it anymore and she said she loved it. I think, it is quite obvious, that he is having a mid life crisis. He is a little young for it, but he has a lot of stress with her, the kids and the self imposed camera crew. Last nigh
  13. I know that this is something that you have been dealing with for a while. My thought are with you and hope that you can find comfort and understanding.
