What was that about "global warming", again?

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Eric Rudolph, who is serving a life sentence for bombings that killed two people in Alabama and Georgia in the 1990s, has published his autobiography from prison with the help of his brother. The book — titled "Between the Lines of Drift: The Memoirs of a Militant" — is hardly a best-seller: It ranked No. 24,040 in sales on Friday at a website that allows authors to publish their own works. But the government said it will still try to seize any profits from sales, no matter the amount. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/ap/crime/convicted-bomber-publishes-book-from-prison/nWXxs/

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/02/22/172695707/dead-mice-are-going-to-be-dropped-on-guam-from-helicopters-really Here's the latest plan scientists have come up with to kill some of the estimated 2 million brown tree snakes that have wiped out many other animals on Guam: In April or May they're going to lace dead mice with painkillers, attach them to little parachutes, drop them from helicopters and hope that they get snagged in the jungle foliage. Then, if all goes well, the snakes — which as their name implies hang out in trees — will eat the mice and die from ingesting t -

A recently introduced bill in the Illinois state Senate would require anonymous website comment posters to reveal their identities if they want to keep their comments online. The bill, called the Internet Posting Removal Act, is sponsored by Illinois state Sen. Ira Silverstein. It states that a “web site administrator upon request shall remove any comments posted on his or her web site by an anonymous poster unless the anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.” The Democratic lawmake

I looked at the Power System and saw no reports of any outages. Maybe Cobb EMC. There were some winds with the rain. A strong enough fault could cause this. -
Redneck Games tossed with toilet seat for 2013 - but not forever http://www.ajc.com/news/news/redneck-games-tossed-with-toilet-seat-for-2013-but/nWWLQ/ Say goodbye to the mud belly flop, to bobbin’ for pig’s feet and the toilet seat toss — at least for this year. The Summer Redneck Games in East Dublin have been canceled for 2013, according to a report in the Macon Telegraph. After drawing upward of 5,000 people in past years, lackluster attendance at the 2012 games prompted organizers to take a year off with the idea of restarting the event in 2014, Larry Drew, the city administrato

Schools in Atlanta suburb to install 'panic buttons' Published February 21, 2013 Associated Press MARIETTA, Ga. – School officials in an Atlanta suburb are working with police install "panic buttons" in the buildings. Marietta police Officer David Baldwin says that if teachers, administrators or others press the button, it immediately alerts the 911 center. He said the system is designed so that police do not have to rely on someone calling 911 for officers to be dispatched. WSB Radio reports that Marietta is the first metro Atlanta school system to install panic buttons. Baldwin says p

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/19/us-retirement-credit-boomers-idUSBRE91I0LY20130219 (Reuters) - Sandy Harsh never expected to find herself with $16,800 in credit-card debt and her retirement dreams drifting farther away. Harsh, an IT professional from Tuscola, Illinois, is 62, around the age at which a lot of people start actively planning to retire to a white-sandy beach with a frozen margarita in hand. Harsh's debt snuck up on her as she helped her two daughters with college and living costs. She went back to school after a divorce and dealt with unexpected expenses such

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/19/Report-Unemployment-May-Be-Headed-Over-8 On Friday, financial research firm Lombard Street Research reported that “unemployment could rise above 8% and that profits will be squeezed.” Lombard Street says its bearish employment and growth projections are the result of a host of factors, including: the 2% payroll tax increase’s drag on retail sales, the ineffectiveness of the Federal Reserve’s monetary pumping, and sequestration—the term used to describe billions in automatic spending cuts set to go into effect March 1st unless Congress

http://sweetteaandcornbread.blogspot.com/ This is an old recipe that I got from a family friend. It's one of those recipes that you can prepare pretty much at the last minute without having to run out and get the ingredients, because most of the time you have them on hand. It's also pretty quick to prepare and it's very inexpensive per serving. If you add a salad and rolls or we like it with pinto beans and cornbread, you have a meal. Kids and adults both enjoy this also. Also, for those who complain about the canned soups and processed cheese, this recipe has neither!

I am taking a class at Georgia Tech through Corsera called Energy 101. Its is a very easy class and very enlightening. For example we are energy independent when it comes to coal and natural gas but we import 60 % of our oil and 40% of that export comes from Canada and Mexico in North America. If you want to take the course you can sign up now. Its in its fourth week but the quizzes are easy and everything is in the lectures. If you complete you get a certificate. If you have the time, it is worth it. The class looks at realistic alternatives to our energy problems. Biomass, solar, wind, nucle
