    My husband loves to hunt but he doesnt get to do it often because we do not own a large piece of property. We simply have a house in a subdivison. He always goes to the WMA and doesnt come back with anything :(

     

    For Christmas, I would love to suprise him and get him a lease to a property or a membership to a hunting club - depending on the price. Does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions? I dont just want to pick something out of a book or the internet. I want to talk to someone who has actually hunted somewhere and got good results. Please send me your suggestions! Thanks

     

    Oh and I know he would like to stay somewhat local. Sorry if I sound naive to this stuff but he is the hunter not me :)

     

    Most hunting clubs take new members at the beginning of the season or when the lease renews. Ours renews in March and that is when our dues are paid. As for private land to lease it is hard to come by in this area. There is some out there but be prepared to pay for being close to home.

    You might want to look at a hunting website that a couple of us on pcom use. It is www.woodystaxidermy.com, you might find something on there. If you can't find land for him to hunt this year consider giving him "gift certificate" from you for next season, or perhaps a paid hunt in another state.

    She wants Honey Baked Ham and he wants to be sure there are mashed potatoes :lol:

     

    They keep changing their minds on everything. I do know that she wants people to be able to sit and kabitz, but you can do that with tables and finger foods. I just need to keep working on her, and feeding my son mashed potatoes until he's over that :lol:

     

    The mashed potatoes are not a bad idea. You can get some of the martini glasses and set up a potato bar with shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits etc. Let your guests fill the martini glasses and make their own. I have done this at a couple of VERY upscale weddings. It looks great and is very filling especially if you are serving alcohol and the evening is an evening event.

    I had a question and thought I might get some answers here. My husband is looking to get into a new job doing equipment operating, like grading or something. He has applied for Cobb County and Paulding County and hasn't had any luck. All of the ads that we have seen for CW Mathews and some other companies say that they require 5 or more years experience. Does anyone know someone or a company local that would train someone without experience? My husband has a strong work history. He has been at the same job for 12 years in a warehouse and he's just ready for a change now. He wants to be outside and work in the daytime. (he has been night shift for a long time) He has good work ethics and general mechanical knowledge, but he just doesn't have experience. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

     

    Tell him to try Pike Electric. They often hire people that have little or no experience in their line of work. They are an electrical contractor for EMC. With his work history they may very well give him a job.

    I have said it before and I will continue, Child Support Enforcement is a joke. My ex owes more that $93,000 in arrears. I call them weekly to complain. If you want to get their attention I have found that I will usually get some kind of response by continuously sending them a fax. I mean 15 or 20 times a day asking for a phone call back.

    Good luck with trying to collect.

    YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT IF SHE GOES TO HIS JOB, HE CAN BE ARRESTED? NO WAY, WHY? HOW CAN SHE BE ALLOWED TO GO TO "HIS" HOME AND THEN HE CAN BE ARRESTED?? NOW, I CAN SEE THIS IF THE JUDGE TEMPORARILY GAVE HER THE HOUSE, LONG ENOUGH FOR HER TO FIND A PLACE TO GO AND TO GET HER THINGS AND GET OUT, THEN HE CAN GO BACK AFTER SO MANY DAYS! BUT, THIS SOUNDS SOOO CRAZY. IT SOUND LIKE SHE IS JUST AGGING IT ON AND TRYING TO GET HIM IN TROUBLE, IN THIS CASE, SHE NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL!!!! PARDON MY FRENCH, THIS CASE SUCKS!! SHE NEEDS HER ARSE KICKED!! HE NEEDS TO GO TO THE JUDGE WHO DOES THIS KIND OF THING AND HE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN, IN DETAIL WHAT SHE IS DOING, BEFORE SHE GETS HIM FIRED!! :o :o

     

    That is exactly what I was told by the Paulding County Sheriff's Dept. Tonight she has already been there and the manager/supervisor has asked her to leave stating that it was private property. Because she has not been legally evicted from his home she CAN go there and have him arrested if he is home. This is WAY to much power if you ask me. I like you could understand if there were children involved or if they had told him he needed to find somewhere to stay for a certain period of time until she had her belongings out, however that is not the case. This man has to send her a formal eviction notice through the courts. This could take up to 90 days. This is what the Magistrate Court told me today when I called for him. He will be at the court house first thing in the AM to see just exactly what he can do about all of this.

    She has gone to his work already- 3 times last night. He works a night job. This morning when he woke up (really in the afternoon) she was sitting on his couch. According to the sheriffs dept. she could have called 911 and they would have taken him to jail. I have to stress that she is not staying there anymore but because she has not been to court to be evicted (the process has been started) that he is in the wrong. There just seems to be something wrong with this picture. She can come in while he sleeps at his home, call 911 and he goes to jail???

    Recently a friend of mine and his girlfriend (live-in) went to jail for simple battery (Domestic Violence). Apparently the fight wasn't really all that bad I will not go into details as they don't really matter both parties were charged and taken to jail.

    While there before their release the girlfriend was asked if she would like to take out a restraining order, she said yes. The boyfriend was not asked or given the option.

    Now, the boyfriend owns his home. He bought the home well before she moved in and was dating him. She has not stayed at the house since the incident. With the restraining order I am told that she has the right to come to his home and he will be in violation and can be taken to jail. I have also been told that she can come to his place of employment (not a public place like wal-mart) and if he does not leave work he can be charged.

    Can anyone tell me if this is in fact the case. This is what the sheriff's dept told him.

    Child Custody Question

    :huh: We are looking for a good attorney that deals with child custody cases. My husbands son has been wanting to move in with us and the mother isnt wanting to allow him to do so. He is 14yrs old and thats the age they can decide RIGHT???????

    Well my husband wants to talk to someone and we dont have a clue who would be good at answering all the questions that we have. We have done our homework on the new laws and they are more equal now which is great but dont know much about the custody rules. If you have a suggestion PLEASE LET US KNOW WE CAN USE ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Just to set the record stright- Kids CAN NOT decide where they want to live. They have the right to EXPRESS THEIR OPINION about where they wish to live. Big difference!!

    At any rate- we used Worthy in Dallas. He got us custody of my husbands children.

    Thats the right answer she gave you.........I just dont know about why it wont let you in.

     

    You could always post it in the IC and tell a admin to move it for you. Just remeber that once its in the unpaid you cant see replies etc... so put in bold for people to PM you with questions.
