  1. My granny used to say several-

Snow on the roof for 3 days means more snow.

Thunder in the winter meant snow within 7 days.

6 weeks till frost when the rag weed blooms.

When the leaves on a tree are turned shiny side up it meant rain.

These are just a few that I can remember her saying.

    Anybody else?

  2. yup because they are too lazy to wait...I don't think Swafford cares though.

Actually he does care. He has had his gas tanks taken out by people cutting through, he has had his well ran over and had to redo all of it, not to mention that it tears at the asphault in the parking lot. He just doesn't have the power to do much about it without closing down the entrance at either 120 or 101.

  3. The only reason I have named West Ga Dentistry for Children is they are a PCP for our dental coverage which is Metlife Dental. I have seen on the list the group in douglasville but it is only listing 1 of the doctors. Really strange name that I have no idea how to pronounce.

Got to go where they will pay...........

    Kris

Took my kids there just a couple of weeks ago for the first time. They LOVED her. They asked that I sit out in the waiting room (my youngest is 12) and wait- I thought OH NO- I have one son that will get into everything. I could hear them laughing the entire time they were back there, all 3 of them. When they were done Dr Sharron came out and talked to me about all 3 kids and what they might need to have done.

When we left I asked the kids about what they thought and they all 3 said when we have to come back can we please come here!

    I would highly recommend them.

  4. If the girl was on drugs her objective may not have been to take her own life. I have heard that fingernail polish enters the body it is much like GHB.

Regardless of the objective I hope she is OK. I feel for the mom.

  5. maybe I am old and slow but how about spelling out at least once what the he!! is hsus and seeds, then maybe i will understand what these bills are all about.

SEEDS is an organization to teach youth about hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. It encourages education and converservation for our youth.

HSUS is a radical group that believes that animals should be protected at any cost. They are not related to your local animal shelter but use the title "Human Society" to make you believe they are.

When you see some of the folks on TV that are putting up a fight against wearing fur, or chaining themselves to trees they are many times associated with HSUS.

  6. Possibly- please just read the bills and see for yourself- I do know that the H.S.U.S.- not to be confused with the Humane Society- they are just using a play on words, has HIRED lobbyist to get help get these bills passed and have also hired some "stars" do also help promote these bills. Like I said- not being an alarmist or starting any chain letters- just pay attention and study these bills for yourself.

Also please pay attention to the SEEDS tag- this would be a great thing for GA and for our youth.

If the SEEDS tag revenue would go directly to SEEDS it would be a great thing- unfortunately that money as well as the other wildlife tages go into a general splosh fund and very little makes it back to the sportsmen (and women) that it was initially set up for.

  7. My brother was in the hospital for a week for a MRSA Staph that he contracted FROM the HOSPITAL 3 days prior. He just got his first bill for the hospital stay- $18,000. This is not any of his doctor bills, surgical bills, put me to sleep doc (can't spell the other lol), etc.

It will be interesting to see just how things with this one turn out!

  8. Oh, this is a GREAT idea !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought of that....we grill a lot in the summer, so I can now seal it and have it for the winter....... GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!! :)

When you put these bags directly in the microwave, do you need to cut the bag open first or put a hole in it ????

Most bags you can drop right into boiling water also to reheat. Check the package before doing that though- some you can't.

  9. We use ours for our deer meat that we use all during the year. You can also use it for your left over lettuce from salad's. It will make them last in the fridge for alot longer that if you just cover it.

They are also great for storing winter and summer items. Put your sweaters and stuff in a large bag and suck out all the air. They really do come out just like you put them in.

  10. As a small, struggling, business owner I bought each of my employees a zip hoodie and we had a really nice seafood dinner with the families invited. My 1 year employees also got a $50.00 bonus. I know it doesn't sound like much but it was what the business could afford. I do try to show appreciation throughout the year when they have done a good job or gone above and beyond the call of duty, does that count for anything?

  13. Yes, thieves suck.

Don't get me started on my burglary. I literally lost everything I own (including dirty clothes). They even took my Oxyclean and Tide...left the Bounce though...perhaps it wasn't their scent.

All I can say is someone is somewhere watching my TV, drinking a beer from my fridge, wearing my house shoes.

Asshats. If I could only recover my guitars, Marshall amp, and my grandfather's pistol, I would be happy.

    Sorry to hear.

That is awful- it just goes to prove that somewhere, someone, has it worse off than you do. I am sorry for your loss. With any luck they will get athletes feet from wearing someone else's shoes.

  14. Assuming you must have a big back yard. I would have to guess that it was either somewhere in plain site that someone could see from off the property or it was someone who knew it was there.

It was in the woods, hanging from a tree- Yes we have a very big back yard- There are about 100 acres to hunt.

  15. I don't approve of stealing. However, if some innocent deer was able to live see another day .. thanks to it being stolen, more power to them. -_- Karma

That innocent deer will now die of starvation because of over population or disease but yes I guess he will live through today.

    More Karma -_-

  16. Probably one of the neighbors who isn't crazy about the idea of your husband hunting in the back yard, what with a deer rifle having a range of several miles and all.

Did you ever think he might be hunting with a bow?
