  1. Just when I thought I had it all figured-

I thought I had about all of the acronyms figured out for text messaging, now I am seeing a couple of new ones in my daughters cell phone and I am not sure what they are. I have searched and can't find anything. Maybe someone on here can help.

They aren't letters anymore they are numbers.

    333

    332

    866

These are usually mixed with some of the standard but I can't for the life of me figure them out. Anybody know??

  2. Did he actually take your $1000 for that???? If so---I would report him to the Bar Association. I have never heard of such.

As far as loosing your home and car, only if you were filing a Chapter 7. You would have to be current at the time of filing or be able to be current within a few weeks. If you are not current, the creditor will get the Automatic Stay lifted and take possession of the collateral.

In your case, you would have needed to file a Chapter 13. That way, all delinquent mortgage payment, car payments (unless they are leases), a percentage of your unsecured creditors and the majority of your attorney fees would have been in your monthly Chapter 13 Plan payment. Basically, you would have the Chapter 13 Plan payment, your regular mortgage payment and normal living expenses per month.

If you must see an attorney here in Dallas, I would recommend Perrotta, Cahn and Prietto. Brian Cahn is the Bankrupty partner and I think Chad comes to the Dallas office to meet with clients. Brian and Chad are awsome---although his staff leaves a little to be desired.

Levies can be avoided in some instances. You have to file a Motion with the court and prove that their is no equity beyond your exemptions (10K per person on the home, $3500 vehicle, $5000 household goods). Very rarely do we have a problem with get a lien avoided.

Our offfice is in Marietta, 2 blocks off the square. We have a partner that about 85% of his work is DUI and the rest is just basic criminal defense, another that does mostly criminal defense (but will take an occasional PI case) and my partner is only Bankruptcy.

Chad has been great with my son in his filing. We are in the middle of it all now and we have been very pleased with the way he has handled things. He has been able to keep his home to date. He is not behind and really has no equity since he just bought it about a year ago.

Just for the record- we DID try to work with his creditors to pay off his debt. Most were very UNWILLING to work with him. With not being able to meet the minimum payments each month each creditor was charging him late fees and jacking the interest up. He just kept getting deeper in debt each month.

Not defending his actions he acted a fool when it came to credit, he is young and has learned a hard lesson.

  3. I had been waiting to hear how your experience went. I too am terrified to go to the dentist. I went 2 years ago and had a root canal done. I NEVER went back to let them do the caps. It hurt sooooo bad. Thanks to your experiece I went to Dr Vu's website and sent in a request for an appointment.

  4. Tommy Kelly Jewelers in Threadmill mall has really good deals and can probably get you what you want reasonable and fast.

I have a stainless steel mens wedding band never been worn if you are interested. You can see it on the Kay jewlery web site.

  5. My husband was a deisel mechanic for Yancey for almost 4 years. About 4 weeks ago they had a major lay-off of almost 50 people. He went to the unemployment office the next day and has been looking everywhere for a job ever since. A temp service finally sent him on a job today that could turn into a permanent position, but he doesn't like the job. He'll stick with it though until something better comes along. It's only half the pay he was making before and he still hasn't received a check from unemployment yet. Luckily we already had our taxes done so we've paid bills with that. But things are getting tight. Anyone know of a better job? He would love to drive a truck again or work on deisel engines but is open to most anything. He knows how to work on cars, but isn't certified.

Angelica Textiles in Rockmart is always looking for drivers. They deliver linens to hospitals and clinics all of GA and AL

  6. People's names like monkeys faces always seen in public places. (got that one when she caught me writing on the bathroom wall at school).

Put that in your pipe and smoke it. (when she was telling me how it was going to be, you know her way or the highway).

You have stood there long enough to have frost bite. (standing with the fridge door open)

  7. Thanks. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and pay them. I just feel like I'm being penalized because I haven't had their equipment for 1 year. On a customer service side their advertisement of MOVE you for free is not necessarily up front.

Let them know that Dish will come out for free and set you up. They may just want to keep your business bad enough that they will wave the fee.

  8. Make sure the company he works for can actually 1099 him. In order for someone to be a subcontractor they have to use all of their own equipment- car, tools, etc to do the job at hand. If he uses the company vechicle or company tools then they are not legally suppose to file a 1099 but a W-2.

  9. A young couple that I know lost their baby girl this morning to SIDS. This couple has an older child (2) that has down syndrom and woke up this morning having lost their new baby.

These kids aren't but 21 and 20 and need all the prayers they can get.

  10. Where will this take place?

I've been to a few of these with my husband and they are so much fun!!

The banquet will be held at the old Purks building in Cedartown. I will be glad to provide directions if you guys want to come.

  11. The Polk County/ Cedartown Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will host its annual banquet Saturday Feb. 2, at 6:00 PM in Cedartown. If anyone is interested in attending please send me a pm or an email and I will let you know how to purchase your tickets.

This is a fun event if you have never been. There is a live auction as well as a silent auction and raffle tickets for guns, hunting gear and all kinds of stuff. Your ticket price includes dinner and raffle tickets.

As of now this event is much smaller than the banquet in Paulding County and many bargains can be had!
