  1. I just don't like being in databases being tracked for drug use!! I still have to wonder how this is legal as it really infringes on the sales ability of the drug maker.
  2. So, I have a cold. I haven't bought Sudafed in, a really long time. My sinuses were in bad shape so I picked some up. To my surprise, you have to show ID, be rung up by a pharmacist and sign some waiver saying you're not going to make meth. To be honest, the whole experience was a bit uncomfortable and makes me seriously adverse to buying this product. That said, I wonder if the manufacturer has an recourse? Surely this has to have impacted their sales and turned people away - if only for the hassle alone. The last thing someone feeling miserable wants to do is jump through extra hur
  3. There are 4 glasses in a bottle, 6 in a big bottle. cadaver dogs pick up scent of body in the house. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/10/21/witnesses-report-seeing-man-carry-baby-resembling-missing-10-month-old-lisa/?test=latestnews
  4. So I made a perfect roux...and then I didn't let it cool enough. I'm not certain that I've ruined the gumbo, but I've certainly compromised it. Mutha....
  5. I gave her my sweet, adorable kitten... and she arrives this morning with a full grown cat. I don't know what they're feeding their animals, but I feel like I've missed some major milestones in my kitten's life. Thanks for watching Katy, NC-17. I owe you (but I'm staying at the house, because the new addition is way too big for my little place)
  6. This is interesting...but given that success is based on the roux, it seems a small price to pay. But, I've also never had to stand over my roux for an hour. No more than 30 minutes, actually. Though, I don't make army size portions which wold likely require more stirring time. You have to add love to the roux, though, and that's why the stirring is so important.
  7. Depends...I prefer Captain Morgan, but will use Makers Mark as well. Mmmm, I might have to see if it's hit the store shelves yet.
  8. I've got the funk, otherwise y'all would be welcome Soon, we'll be debating the best alcohol to put in eggnog and bringing down the Christmas stuff. I love this time of year.
  9. I'm making my first batch of gumbo today. I'm tempted to try a butter roux. Since I'll be destroying the kitchen, I decided I'll make a batch of chili too and freeze it. I'm feeling that "it's time to prepare for winter" feeling. I'm also stocking up on the reds and retiring the whites for the season. Brought in a batch of wood too. What are you doing to prepare for the cool weather?
  10. Here's some advice, from someone that was out of a job almost a year. 1. Stop applying. Sending a resume is futile. Even if it makes it to a hiring manager, it's one of hundreds. You need to network your way in. If you see a position that's open at Acme company, get on LinkedIn and find someone at Acme company that might be close to the person doing the hiring, or the hiring manager and send them a message. 2. If you're not willing to go more than a 10 miles from your house, you don't want a job. There is nothing in Paulding. There will likely never be anything of any real pay in Pau
  11. Jobs are opening up. I'm currently hiring an account manager, a telesales person and a pre-sales engineer. But pitching a tent is a far better way to get a job.
  12. Do people really pay attention to the positive and negatives on their posts?? Changes are fine - I believe in capitalism and I'm a firm believer that cliques and bullying will exist as part of the human experience, someone should profit off of it; Dr. Phil just had a show on it. Childhood suicide will bring in the advertisers!!
  13. I watched it. Very, very disturbing. Interestingly, this has been heavy on my heart.
  14. So, americans aren't buying clothes from GAP, but the Chinese are... And you think that it's wrong for a business to invest in a market that is receptive to their product? Would it be more ideal for them to just fail? If you owned a store and it wasn't making money, would you keep it operating?
  15. This is an amazingly under-utilized SAT word. Well done. Now, how will I be able to craft that into 5 sentences today?
  16. I'll be in Amsterdam for 2 days in the middle of the month. I've never been, and I'm not going to do the red light or drug scene...anything else that might be worth seeing whilst I'm there?
  17. I'm SO happy that my name no longer reads, Dumbestgirlintheworld, LEED AP...because, I am. And LEED is a bunch of crap - if you have money, you can buy enough carbon offsets and tags to erase any blemish. Composting toilets, which lead to black water, which means you can't use reclaimed water for irrigation...lift the veil. The Green movement might be the biggest pyramid scheme in history. ETA: It's LEED, in all caps. I had an entire course from the gubberment on the correct use of the LEED brand.
  18. It's my yoni pillow!!! I love it! It's where you store your toys!
  19. I love it when people post, on the internet, from a computer, about their hippie cred.
  20. Bless your heart. You wouldn't have a lighting fixture or appliance in your house if you didn't have some tolerance. Home Depot, Target and Walmart have all been cited for poor working conditions, as did almost every small appliance and computer manufacturer. The chinese are a crazy population.
