  2. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/11/26/new-york-man-claims-wife-died-in-hungary-after-airlines-said-was-too-overweight/?test=latestnews A sickly, obese Bronx woman was left stranded in Hungary then died from kidney failure after airline officials booted her from three New York-bound flights because she was too fat, her husband says. Vilma, who weighed about 425 pounds, had only one leg and used a wheelchair. She traveled with her husband of 33 years to Hungary on Delta and KLM airlines on Sept. 17. “They tried to fit her into the back of the plane, but they didn’t have an extension t
  3. What's more shocking about this is that her defense team knew about it. Her lawyer said that he was shocked that they overlooked it. I find it frightening that someone that is a member of the legal community doesn't have to disclose this evidence.
  4. I am currently hunting an Eames chair, but I want to factor the reupholstering into the equation so I can determine just how much I am willing to part with to obtain one of these beautiful works of art. Anyone know what this would run?
  5. The doctors have finally stopped treatment and are moving my sister in law towards end of life planning. We have never gone through this and my husband is hurting. Because her cancer is so rare, they have no idea how long she has. Her husband is okay, and she seems alright as well...can anyone tell us what we might expect from here?

  8. I don't know why this is the perception. It's not. My ex's annual income was $3M - he is one of the folks that you describe above. Of that, he received an annual salary of $353K. The rest was based completely on the productivity of the company - companies that couldn't survive without the people that run it. This meant countless people issues, missed family vacations, having to be overseas over major holiday - Thanksgiving doesn't matter in China. Yes, you're right, he didn't produce anything, he didn't actually develop products, but he shoulder heavy responsibility and burden. He had to
  9. The verbose, intellectual, and slightly feminist crowd I hang with tells me that I should love her...I haven't yet read anything because it all seems so gimmicky to me. It's always seems like normalcy trying to disguise itself it over the top, ideological and slightly disconnected thinking. The "if a tree falls in the forest" types have always mildly annoyed me. Who gives a flip? Go feed the homeless or mentor a fatherless kid - be beneficial.
  10. FF and Safari. On the NYT topic - honestly, they make next to nothing from the likes of Pubby/pcom. It's the same scenario as the teens with music. NYT makes their money with real media and reporting outlets - not community message boards. Of course, I do wonder if my $28K paid ad campaign with NYT would cost a bit less if every Pubby in the world paid their fair share? What I find interesting is Pubby's constant barrage of warnings on slander and libel, only to put out such a bold statement as above - a clear massaging of a system that he would despise if on the receiving end..
  11. Now I have to go back!!! It was cool - but the house was creepy. Someone broke a window at the house too, and the police officer wouldn't let me in until she had a look around. The barn felt - off. I can't explain it, the whole place just seemed like I was at someone's house, not a park.
  12. I have a Violet, no Viola. Violet F. Stout Memorial Park Still cant find the story on the murder!
  13. SHUT UP! A police officer was there and I needed to use the rest room. She let me in and that place was WEIRD inside. I had a strange feeling and couldn't wait to get out.
  14. I found an AMAZING photog via pcom and I just wanted to share a photo that she did, that's awwwwesome! They all are, but this is one I just adore. PS, we chose Stout Park! GREAT location!
  15. I did some math, and financially, it's not terrible. You end up paying around $100 - $150 per night to stay in a condo - which should mean reduced expense on eating out every meal. One of the things I am looking into is renting other people's timeshares. There seems to be some serious cost savings there. For instance, I found a place in central London for $157/night...that's DOLLARS. You can't get a crappy room at the Holiday Inn for less than £150 or $250.
  16. I have now met my FOURTH gloriously happy time share owner. I've always been told that they are a scam...so why are so many people that I know so happy with their timeshares?
  17. We are doing a new SLR and a vacation to Europe in the summer. So, there won't be crap under the tree except what's there for the kids.
  18. He's taking TaeKwonDo. He really seems to like it - it's giving him some confidence. He was big into baseball, but he has flat feet and isn't the most limber child (he's slightly chubby), so as his friends were jumping on travel teams, he wasn't advancing at the same pace. I still insist that he is involved in something. This seems to be good for him. He's getting a bit looser and a lot more confident. The discipline has been helpful too, plus, at 3 times a week it's a nice break from studies, but not too long as to make it difficult to manage school as well. Baseball nights were TOUGH wh
  19. My husband and I have made a commitment to be 100% debt free by the end of June...but, our first anniversary is in just a couple of weeks. I really want to do something great, it is our first, but we are COMMITTED to spending as little as possible. Any low/no cost ideas that would still be special and not break the bank?
  20. I'm officially a karate kid mom. I thought I'd see if there are any tips or tricks I should learn from the other parents. This is a huge financial money pit - with sign up costs, monthly tuition fees, equipment fees, fees for belt advancement. I just thought that maybe someone would want to share their experiences so that I might not get sucked into every blessed thing they want us to buy...
  21. I'm not sure I'm the best source for input, but yes, I QR. I love boothtag and all of my networking events QR - it's basically eliminated my need for business cards. ETA: EVERYTHING is about MOBILE. If you're not finding ways to be mobile friendly, your business will suffer.
