  1. Bring back 2 parent households, god in the schools, and quit allowing the media to turn these killers into celebrities.
  2. This situation hurts my heart. Such an impossible situation. We will be praying for your family.
  3. Might I suggest enjoying a meal at the GA World Congress Center? Hosea Feed the Hunfry event is still looking for volunteers!
  4. Only old people and Americans love the royals! They're a tourist attraction. Britian's version of Mickey Mouse.
  5. They don't live in the bounds of government benefits, this is my point. Half of them would rather be poor than actually get out of bed before they want to, the other half take benefits and work under the table. It's only a very small fraction of benefit recipients that have a true need and use it for it's intended purposes.
  6. I'm fine with poverty - it's stupidity that I can't tolerate. Fat people saying, "I want to be fat and happy - GIVE me the medicines that will allow me to be fat and still be happy". No, if you want to have seconds of pasta three times a week, then you need to cover your own Lipitor, beta blockers, and insulin injections. KWIM?
  7. Thank you. They need it. Unfortunately, another side effect of "social programs gone wild" is crime. You can view an interesting infographic on crime in the UK here. http://www.gunssavelife.com/?p=2191 My BIL (SIL's husband) just got word that he has to pay £150 to fish his stolen moped out of a nearby lake. They government does pay him to be his wife's carer, since he can't hold a job, but he's certainly feeling that fine despite this windfall income source/benefit. Insult to injury, I tell ya.
  8. Has anyone seen it? The reviews are either amazing or awful. I thought I'd see if anyone on here had some thoughts...
  9. The medicine is not available in the UK. NICE (the UK version of the FDA surpresses many cancer drugs due to cost) did not approve it, though it can be considered in the future. Even if it was, it's a lukemia drug, which would likely not be approved for administration for brain cancer. There are many drugs that showed promise for her cancer in clinical trials, but since there's no documented proof that it will work, she cannot get it. We did try to get her seen here at 2 other medical facilities. They would not take her because the radiation she had received was too vast and untarget
  10. The point with Nemie was merely to illustrate the pattern of entitlement. She obviously felt entitled to profit from the trademark of others, just as she likely feels entitled to healthcare - no matter how dismal this entitlement makes the program overall. You see, when you dilute programs and make them one-size fits all, you end up with lowered expectations and even lower aspirations. People are losing their desire to WANT to succeed and to want to better their own situations because the payoff is the same as if you were to do nothing at all.
  11. I appreciate your words, they're very well expressed. However, please do not assume to know everything about me by what you see here. I'm very active in my community, church and professional associations influencing change when possible and helping in many capacities. I will spend this weekend working to provide food and gifts to illegal immigrants in the Atlanta area via a hispanic charity. I don't agree with illegal immigration, but I am compassionate to the circumstances that many of these people - especially their children - find themselves in. My payoff is in showing them that Americ
  12. You capitalized "society" - this speaks volumes my commie friend.
  13. I've paid for those services. When I go and get my hair done, they're not doing me a favor by taking my money and coloring my hair. It is a service that I'm due as a result of me giving them money. They call this idea commerce and it's at the foundation of capitalism. It helps people find meaning in life through meaningful work and to be compensated for such skills and services.
  14. What's funny as hell is when Pubby made this post: http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/215184-the-pauldingcom-news-for-friday-july-10-2009/page__p__2832454__hl__%2Bnemie+%2Bcoach__fromsearch__1#entry2832454 You might remember, when he splashed it all over the front page of pcom as a news story? I guess journalism has a shelf life.
  15. Yes. I also freelance on the side. I also plan appropriately for rainy days. I also carry insurance on EVERYTHING to protect me from the unplanned. I don't spit out children that I don't plan on having. But, most importantly, I don't expect anything from anyone. Yes, I've screwed up in life. I've had unfortunately things happen and I've had to rely on the charity of others from time to time...but, I don't make the same mistakes twice, either.
  16. You can have yours too, but it will require you to work for it. I will not do it for you.
  17. Nemie, with all due respect, My husband is British. He is from Maidenhead, Berkshire. His father was royal guardsman. He relocated to the US in November of 2011, having spent his entire life in the UK. His father was stationed in Northern Ireland and fought to defend the UK - the UK that you now call home. I'd love to see you sit down with him one day and hear about how he gave 15 years of service to Her Royal Majesty and he can't even afford TV on his pension. He can't work, even part time, because of the "care" given by the NHS and he, quite possibly, will not be able to ma
  18. WOW. Did you just cite counsel housing as a positive? I know that the north is more laid back, but have you EVER been to London? Have you opened a shop selling nicked cell phones and prepaid cards???? I've seriously entered the Twilight Zone.
  19. Healthcare doesn't factor into our decision as we will hold dual citizenship since the plan is to maintain 2 residences.
  20. The entitled. You know, the ones that don't want to see anyone else prosper if they can't. You follow people around this board with your hand out, slighting every sign of success. And, I don't even care for surepip to be honest - that speaks to how much your posts have gotten on my nerves the last 3 days. Matter of fact, let me thank you. There's a reason that I dropped off for so many months. I think I need to try that again. Merry Christmas.
  21. Shepherds Pie here, with yorkshires! Hmmm, I can't wait!!!
  22. It could! I just know what I hear from my family (my husband moved from Windsor a year ago - he's a native) and it's...different. I couldn't imagine not having my own room when I have a baby. Or when I had a miscarriage and abdominal surgery earlier in the year. Share a room with 3 other people? No thanks! I also know how much we've just spent on his dentistry...it's not good. And he's a man of private coverage as well. I do appreciate that they took care of you...but, waiting a week for an extraction isn't exactly what I would call top notch care. Especially with a jaw infection! I d
