  1. I'm sure you'd gladly take it for free, though. If he delivered of course. But, then you'd end up trying to reheat it a week later, get food poisoning and try to sue the man. You and your kind are disgusting.
  2. There are a few things that you left out. Prescriptions, for instance, are rarely given. People are simply not put on medication, especially maintenance medications and pain medications. They are simply not given. You *might* get some codeine if you're really hurt, but most likely you're told to take paracetamol and call it a day. This isn't necessarily bad, but it's VERY different from America. With Obamacare, this will be your norm. Of course, maintenance meds aren't needed as much - the UK doesn't have fast food on every corner, they don't have drive thrus, and they walk. Yes
  3. It has to be administered via IV. It's not avaialble in the UK, even if she could get it (which is £2500 per dose, she would need 12 doses, which is why it's not provided by the UK system) she can't administer it.
  4. My uncle, who is HIV positive, was in the same situation. He found EVERY charitable thing he could get and left the workforce and lives on charity and disability. I'm not suggesting that you don't have to play with the system, but you have to find your own way. If that means completely going on the government dime, so be it. But, it's unfortunate that we are slowly moving our entire society to entitlement programs. mmoron and former member, you guys are hopelessly inept and it's absolutely useless for me to waste my time speaking to you, I'm actually hoping that you get to be Obamaca
  5. Sorry, lady. That won't work either. This isn't about political gain, it's about awareness. Cover your ass.
  6. Let me enlighten your bleeding heart: 1. you CAN get it in the US. Use the google to search for clinical trails, which its been in since 2010 and it's slated for FDA approval in 2013. 2. It is not cost prohibitive and can be obtained via mail order from Canada. 3. MS isn't something that the government gave you as part of your "treatment". The only thing she could have done is refused treatment all together. She didn't, and trusted her doctors. It was her treatment that produced these side effects, but now they're refusing to treat the side effects. No, the US is not perfect...but,
  7. Look - I'm a Libertarian, and I don't mince words. If your life is that crappy and finances that bad - a message board from your employer is a BAD idea. However, if you are going to use work provided resources for personal use, please utilize google to get yourself sorted. There are plenty of FREE services available to the disadvantaged, from healthcare to childcare to education. I know, because through my taxes and my charitable donations, I pay for it. We all pay for it. We pay for it so that you can work yourself out. The idea is for you to use the resources to elevate yourse

  9. She is not well enough to travel. She will receive comfort drugs (morphine, etc) until she passes. I guess pain management IS quality of life in their eyes.
  10. Let me know if I can help you get what you need via Grady - I've helped several homeless young women get preventative, pre and post natal care at Grady.
  11. You miss the point - it's NOT available. As in, in the country. Period. Not there. Can't have. You see, the government doesn't just say "you have to pay for t yourself" they say, "you can't have it because we don't carry it, cannot administer it as no there is no 'private clinic' or choice available.
  12. My point is actually quite simple... They (the government) paid for the drugs that have put her in this state. The cancer did not cause her to gain 200lbs. The cancer did not cause those stretch marks. The cancer did not cause the incontinence, the immobility due to the rapid onset of a grotesque amount of weight...that was all the drugs that she had no choice but to trust would help her. They couldn't. Now, there is a drug available that would allow her to return to her normal self, if for a short time until the cancer takes her, but she isn't allowed to have that drug. If gover
  13. As you all know, my SIL will soon go home to be with the Lord. She will leave a husband and a 2 year old boy to continue long and healthy lives. My SIL lives in the United Kingdom, where medicine is free to all. Where everyone is treated the same, regardless of who they are and where they come from. Where the cost of medicine is paid for by the government as a service to the people. The lines are long. The waits are longer. Thankfully, my SIL had a very rare cancer – one of only 56 in the WORLD to ever be diagnosed. As such, she got the best of the best in care. She was a project – s

  16. James Avery has some stuff that I think you might like as well.
  17. If I could drink, and didn't fear for the health of my fetus, I'd be all over it. Raincheck, this sounds like the perfect way to celebrate post-partum....and no one will care if my boobs leak. Hell, they'd probably tip me.
  18. I've seen that?!?! Have you been? I can't wait to take MC!
  19. It was at the Clermont! No, I don't really know that!
  20. It was, quite clearly, a joke. But, Merry Christmas to you, too!
