  1. Comments like this make me miss the days I was a server. I used to work here: http://bootleggerfl.com/ You can imagine the harassment that I would get from douchey patrons that thought their boat made them better than me. Or tried to pick me up. Camera phones weren't around then, or I would have been responsible for a number of divorce settlements. Don't puck with a server, we drop your buns on the floor and make your cocktails with cheap, inadequate amounts of liquor. And then we bang your husbands.
  2. It's called Capitalism. You ooze jealousy and inadequacy. The likes of Arthur Blank should INSPIRE you. Oh, and he's GIVING most of it away http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2012/04/20/arthur-blank-pledges-wealth-to.html
  3. And I'm sure she was truthful. She's a catfish. And along the likes of a few on here, I genuinely feel bad for her because she must be single, shy, lonely and pathetic by most norms. I've seen it a lot, people unable to engage in real life relationships seek them online- but to keep them sustainable they must be vague and misleading as to the realties of their life. I simply wonder why one wouldn't invest more time reading the Sun so that they could pull off more than a medieval revival of uncommon British nomenclature. Shrug. Maybe she's welsh.
  4. Most connections happen at JFK, so I don't think they're overly concerned. Delta still runs international flights with connections from T too.
  5. I'm anti welfare. Britain loves welfare; the expats from paulding prove that point. Sorry if another well traveled pcommers intimidates you. I've been all over the world - but it been to visit, not seek asylum from wrong doings in my native land. Don't worry, we still feed your economy. I would never have an opinion on a place where we don't pay taxes
  6. I love the new terminal. I access it from 85, but its easy to find and much smoother for the traveler. It's only 4 miles further than the domestic exit. Of course, we don't rent cars.
  7. Dear God!!!! And THIS is why kids are shooting each other. If asking someone's nationality is bullying, we are in trouble. I simply asked why she constantly uses British slang improperly. Sorry if that hurt someone's feelings - life is tough.
  8. By injection! That's brilliant!! Bottom line, I have more knowledge than zoo (I've actually been there...a lot. I will soon give birth to a UK citizen) - and I have not fully abandoned the z.
  9. My point is that I bet she's never stepped foot on any of the places you mentioned.
  10. Did you take OS to a rave? Oh this could be BRILLIANT! Pun intended. And I don't really care - but my husband left yesterday for the UK and I'm missing him madly and the reference to constables made me think of him (and miss him more). Personally, I'd be willing to trade her for my MIL. PS. RuPaul beat out Piers in the ratings. I'm hoping that they send him back soon.
  11. She's clearly NOT British (and you and I should know better than most!)....but, I do wonder where she's learned her British speak. I'm thinking youtube's of the queen's speech, Olympic coverage and Antiques Roadshow. There are some pretty current shows that give a much better sense of UK reality - Downton Abbey, that new terrible show about the terrible group The Saturdays, and that dreadful british version of jersey shore. British stuff is so en vogue, yet no Sex Pistols on the radio.
  12. Are you British? Do you know anyone that's British? Have you ever been to Britain? Typhoo or PGTips? White? I post on behalf of the British, you sound like an ARSE when you post crap like constable. The British don't use the word constable. If you're trying to sound British, try cozzer (pronounced cozza). I'm still scratching my head at why you do it at all. Enlighten me?
  13. black on black crime = barely a blip on the radar. Didn't even make a decent thread on pcom. A DUI in the school parking lot get numerous threads, but a 14 year old in the inner city shooting a bully, nada.
  14. Wouldn't it be great if people would govern themselves? My MIL raised my husband and his brother in a 3 BR council flat. When the last of the boys left, she downsized into a 1BR, 400 sqft council flat. The reason was because she really NEEDED the subsidy and doesn't make any money. It broke her to give the boys a bedroom, it was a relief when she could move. She pays about $475/month for this tiny 1BR, the remainder is subsidized. The reality is most of the subsidized housing goes to people that make a very reasonable income and often get most of this income under the table. Taxi drivers,
  15. Yeah. This should be required viewing.
  16. You perceived this negatively. I never stated an opinion. Reading. Fundamental. ETA: You should read the link. It's supa short
  17. I'm not sure if many of you are familiar with this fight that's going on in England. It's affecting my in-laws. I've been trying to find a good link that will help you understand, but basically much of England is on a form of 'rent control'. Due to a significant housing shortage for the poor, the prime minister is instituting a 'bedroom tax'. This tax basically says that if you're in subsidized housing and you have an extra bedroom (you're allowed 1 bedroom per person), you will have your rent subsidy cut by 14%. Here's the best I could find. http://www.telford.gov.uk/press/articl
  18. This man's funeral is going to smell like Summer's Eve and hair bleach.
  19. It's just like making a grilled cheese sandwich...add tuna.
