That's excatly what happend to me. Bused to a brand new school, (as in newly built) in a mainly black neighborhood several miles from my home. If things had been left alone I would have been able to ride my bike to my old school. (Wonder if this is when kids started getting fat?) My old school was exactly what it was old. But, we loved it.

Having waited tables in Florida, I would say that, it's some of the folks from the North who have no clue about tipping. I have waited tables, I always looked at tipping as how I might get the gallon of milk my kid needed. I also understood that it was my customers who paid my salary. I even went so far as to tell my boss "you pay me to do the side work. My customers pay me to take care of my kid." I made very good money no matter who the customer was.
