Thanks! The ER had her transferred late last night. She says she wants the help, just not sure if she will actually go thru with it. She is being detoxed now and hopefully she will continue. Its gonna be a long road... Some how we all will get thru it.. Thanks for all the advise! Ridgeview wanted $7500 up front! Other private rehab wanted up to $21,000! Who has that kind of money laying around?

I have a very dear friend who is addicted to pain pills. We all have gotten together and held an "intervention" She agreed to get treatment. The problem we have come to now is, she doesn't have insurance, no job and no money. How do we get her admitted into a rehab facility to detox and get better? Took her to ER after the withdrawl symptoms started. They just wanted to give her some meds to get over the symptoms and send her on her way. They finally put a hold on her when we told them she wanted to die. We are at a total loss of where to turn or what to do... What do you do when you

Keep his throat wet!! My son had his done about a year ago, and we had to syringe gatorade, apple juice, or water into his mouth to make him drink. When the scabs in the back of his troat get dry thats when they start to hurt. And just when you think he is all better, he probably will go back down. We thought our son was all better after about 3-4 days and on about day 5 he was right back where we started. The scabs falling off will make his throat really sore again. Keep the pain meds in him!!! Hope he recovers quickly! -

Is this at Bakers Bridge and Senator? Glad everyone was out of my house! -
No paperwork was signed. It was all thru word of mouth. We made it clear there was no work to be done til a price was quoted!

That is the plan to talk to him tonight. Not sure how far we will get doing that! But its worth a try.

Ok so we took our mini van into the dealership a couple of months ago to have it looked at and find out what all needed to be fixed. The final price was $1500 to have everything fixed. We took it home without the repairs and my husband fixed some of the issues himself. We took it back last week to have all other repairs done. We have asked repeatedly to have a final price before the work was started so we could be sure we could afford all repairs. We never got a final price and the work has now been completed and now the price is $2000. My question is what would you do since we neve

What kind of summer program do you offer? I have 5 year old and looking for some summer programs. What is the weekly fee? -
Make sure they are doing a urine culture and the germ is sensative to the antibiotic. Alot of times docs don't send it out for culture and the germs is actually resistant to the meds. It sounds like she does need an ultrasound and VCUG (the cathater thing). She may have reflux into her kidneys and that cause chronic UTIs as well. If everything is normal after all the testing then she should see a pediatric urologist.

Doctors can always up code on the visit. Just because a visit was scheduled for one thing they can always bill differently at the end of the visit. It only effects the way they schedule patients. Diagnosed with more than one thing means a higher office visit.

I couldn't agree with you more. Having a son that spent 1 month in the PICU at scottish rite, 2 helicopter rides and 3 ambulance rides. I have my share of medical bills but he is here and healthy. It is pretty outragous the amount that the insurance does not pay and we are left paying for the rest. I will be paying medical bills til who knows when with all his "flight" experience

I have heard a lot of offices doing this. It makes them pretty liable if you walk out of there and something else happens to you. It is crazy. I guess its their way of trying to stop people from taking up to much of their time. But in the end it takes up more time to make two appts

My son could have been at Scottish Rite way before the helicopter even took off. I just don't understand how they make the call to use helicopter vs ambulance.

I would love to know what "kickbacks" the doctor gets from the pharmaceutical companies. I have worked in a doctors office for 13 years and have yet to see any kickbacks from any company. The most we get is a free lunch that we have to sit thru their whole presentation.

How did they confirm it was Swine Flu? Was the test just positive or was the test sent off to to the CDC?
-
The schools are getting a little out of control. They are sending kids home with just a small cough or congestion with NO fever. The main sign a child has the flu is a fever. The CDC is the only place to confirm swine flu. We have seen many patients that test positve for flu A, but there is no way to determine if it just seasonal flu or swine flu. They are only testing people that are admitted to the hospital.
