My question is will parents use their own judgment if the forecast remains the same or will you wait for the school to make the decision? I will probably still go into work if nothing is falling by time to go. But I will not try to rush though traffic in freezing conditions to get my child home safely.

I am not really thinking about snow so much, but I think we are under estimating the freezing and ice we may be experiencing with this event. This worries me a bit about those that may think they have time to get home from work and children home before driving becomes very dangerous. I have lived and driven around the east coast north and south. Snow is not a real problem. Even icing that you can see easily. But I saw an event like this as young adult that was insane. My concern is the ground is what I call very sticky right now, we have been in a deep freeze for days now, the ground is cold at least down a good 2 inches. I have seen a 40 degree rain build 2 inches deep under these conditions. Personally I think we are taking this lightly because the prediction is for so little moisture to fall, we get excited over 4-6 inches. A 1/8 of an inch of ice is serious on untreated roads.

I have been watching the weather closely. My son's first day back is tomorrow morning. He goes to school in Powder Springs, my husband and I drive him to and from. We live in Burnt Hickory. The weather channel is now saying that precipitation will start around noon on Thursday. It has been so cold that most anything that hits the ground or roads will freeze to it. I have already made the decision that if the prediction holds for noon he will not be going. Will the rest of you wait to see what if the schools close based on the prediction of noon or will you use your own judgm

Nature girl you would not believe I made my first batch of cornmeal dumplings with my collards for daddy last week. They need work, thinner saltier and sweeter but they did not fall apart. I am quite proud of myself.

The concrete around my pool and on my patio gets stained from leaves and some green stuff like algae. I have to bleach and power wash every year. Is there something you can treat my concrete with to keep the tannin in the oak leaves from staining it? I am looking for a lower maintenance option, more than anything decorative.

Actually, most of the regular members know me as fun and sociable on the board, but there is a serious side to me when it comes to assisting the commerce members with marketing and advertising. I do a lot of educating businesses on marketing on the board. I also educate them on how to use the board, such as putting a you tube in a signature. I also help with customer service. A lot of people see me as a little bit silly which I can be, but I have a business side that I want potential advertisers to see in my siggy. I have had trouble overcoming people only seeing the fun side of me.

I need a new one too! and my siggy needs work also. I am thinking about making a you tube video for my siggy.
