Q: What happens in the event that the SPLOST is not passed? A: Without the extension of the SPLOST program, most of the badly needed proposed projects could not be accomplished and possibly result in a millage rate increase in order to fund the projects. I would rather have the SPLOST, than a millage increase. (providing that the job is done right. Which was not the case for the right hand turn from Merchant Drive onto Nathan Dean Blvd.) However, to see that if the voters vote no that they may face a millage increase. These words come to mind... black·mail : 1 : a tribute anci

Maybe they can use some of the money to re-fix that crappy, bumpy right hand turn from Merchants Drive onto Nathan Dean BLVD. A job worth doing right is worth charging and doing twice for... G. Wolf

I want to throw out this thought: If light is white. Then with a prism we can see the colors that make up light. Right? White light goes into the prism and different colors come out. (rainbow) Still one light to all correct? Now what if quantum science discovers an principle or element that can function as a prism? It allows our reality to see multiple realities. Thus they others exist along with ours but are different. Now one more step : Religion / GOD : God is one. Yet we have many cultures and they see GOD differently. God is like the light. Add a prism or quantum path

AJ, Yep, I have wondered about that image as well. G. Wolf -
Ugadawgs98, So employees were extensive screened. Who is to say that they are still in a stable mind after 6 months. Life events happen. You maybe correct on the deranged employee at a courthouse versus a grocery shopping or at a fast food restaurant. After all grocery stores and restaurants do not have metal detectors and guards (I do not expect them to have such security). However, the courthouse does have security. So they should be proactive and use the tools they have properly. G. Wolf

Mr.Dis, Simple answer, No. Have two deputies. But now you will start thinking of collusion between the two. Simple solution. Use the tools and resources that you have properly. This is a simple thread. If security is important then all should be treated equally. I would lose my job if I programmed a security system to ignore commands issues by co-worker because I knew them and they were trusted. As a matter of fact. I wrote some security programs that resulted in trusted employees/contractors being fired because they abused the authority they were trusted with... My world of security

Mr.Dis, Pre-screened or not, background check or not. People snap. Security is there for everybody. If not actively used, then how can it be of any use (gives false sense of security)? Response to #1. Deputy returning wallet he found on his wife side of bedroom. Wallet belongs to best friend working the courtroom. (you asked). Response to #2. See response to number 1. Again, how would anybody know a person's mental state? I have seen people checked in at some mental institutions. They appear to be fine and can carry on a normal conversation. But they would even scare the He

Mr.Dis, Sorry, wrong answer. You may know a person on sight. But you never know their state of mind. Who will get left holding the bag if something goes wrong? Who, will explain to the loves that are left, "Umm, sorry, I did not check for a weapon, but I know him by sight?" I do not want to be a "red shirt" because someone had a bad day. Taxpayers paid for security, security is what they should get... G. Wolf

I was at the new court house yesterday. My wife placed her purse on the rollers of the x-ray machine. Then she proceeded thru the metal detector. The machine sounded its alarm. The nice officer then proceeded to use his hand-held wand to scan for the source. He located it to be the buckles on her boots. He made her lift her pant legs high enough to see the top of her boots. I guess looking for a knife. Then she was cleared. I emptied my pockets of my keys and cell phone. I went thru with no problems. But I noticed that they had another metal detector for "Employees Only". During the time

Morris Concrete Designs, Thank you for your comments. I know that all doctors are not that way. G. Wolf

Scannin'yourheart, Thank you for that insight. The doctor that I go to, say for a pulled muscle, will also ask if I need any refills. He does not tell me to make another appointment and come back. I have never been ask to pick one or the other. My doctor has also told me about how Wellstar and Piedmont are more concern about losing patients to their rival. He also has said they know which patients have true needs versus patients that have a need to socialize 3 times a week. G. Wolf

Lumak, It does sound wrong. My doctor has never done said anything like that to me. The meds are helping. Hopefully, the cold will be gone this time. G. Wolf

Yesterday, the wife went to a certain "Family Medicine" office in "Acworth". She went there to be seen so that she could get some medicine refilled. She also has had a nagging cold that the same office has treated. She got to the office and was told that she can only be seen for one or the other. But not for both. So she had to chose medicine refill. After a little while the nurse PA noticed the rasping of my wife breathing. The nurse PA then decided to listen to my wife's chest and take her temperature. Yep, lo and behold, my wife was running a fever and has a chest cold. Now tell me if

Anyone having issues with e-mail through local phone company?

I am using thunderbird for email. This morning started getting pop-ups to sign into the account again. It goes anywhere from 1 to 10 mins before asking again. I called DSL support at Bellsouth/AT&T. Had an 11 minute waiting due "to high volume". The first thing I asked them was to check their system status and let me know of any open issues. The reply, no problems here. Then the service person wanted me to change some settings on my account setting to point to another mail server. Still the problem continued. Then they passed me to another support group. When that group answered they told -
