  1. No kidding. I used to tell my mom and dad there was a man looking in my bedroom window at night. They didn't believe me. I told them there was somebody shooting at us while we were riding in the car pulling the camper one time. They didn't believe me about that, either, til they saw the bullet holes in the camper.
  2. Had to cut it down so it would work. This was dad's favorite print, it hangs in my dining room. Thought you might like it, stradial.
  3. Walmart won't do it if its a professional photo. Even if its 50 years old and the small town local studio has been out of business since the owner died back in '83.
  4. We had TC pics for older child, no problems and beautiful portraits. Just got back my younger sons Cady studios pics, I could not be more disappointed. We had an issue with glasses, they said they would fix it in retouch, they didn't. We ordered a canvas to match our other child's canvas, it was not a stretched canvas it came rolled up! What? For the money we paid for it! But it all has to go back anyway, because of the glasses issue. They have been very difficult to deal with.
  5. I used to hike a lot, too. Wonder how many times there've been bears watching us from the trees we hiked under? Probably a lot more than we think! I've learned a lot about bears from watching the den cams in Minnesota. Such as, many times a mamma bear will "store" her cubs somewhere, go off and do her thing, then come back and get them. Sometimes well meaning but ill advised people will "rescue" the cubs. But, some of the ideas Dr. Rogers has are way out of the mainstream. Such as hand feeding bears to build "trust." The state has restricted his license because of such shenanigans so we won't
  6. I learned something cool the other day. Really just common sense but I didn't know. Take the grade of the child +5 =approximate age.
  7. As a lefty that would be awesome! For business I would always pick up the .38 first. I had a semi jam on me one time, worst feeling in the world. Lots of ppl trust them with their lives, I just can't seem to get over that experience.
  8. The flying nun? I don't know I haven't seen that while on my travels. Maybe dgitw can identify that, she knows all about everything.
  9. I'm just telling you what I saw at sea world when it was 101 degrees outside. I have 6 witnesses not including me lol. To me that is extremism.
  10. That's kind of a stretch. There is really no comparison to having your entire head covered in wool layered all the way to your feet with only a mesh screen around the eyes. Besides, I didn't see and Hasidic Jews at sea world.
  11. Love how on pcom these days if you have an opinion that is politically incorrect you can count on being called stupid by some condescending know it all. Learned a lot from former member didn't we? I was at sea world a couple of years ago and it was one of those muggy Florida days with the temp about 101°. Everyone was in shorts and tanks. Yet there were some women there in full burka. I am uncomfortable with anyone who is religious zealot enough to risk heat stroke in the name of Allah. Why not stay home if those are your only choices?
  12. I remember helping my granny with the hens back in the 60s. She had a pretty secure henhouse and kept it shut at night, but there was never any heat in there, just a lot of bedding in the winter. They still produced well from what I remember. When it was really cold they only came out to eat.Granny was super gentle with her hens, unlike how she was with the yard dogs and roosters, and us kids lol. I guess her hens were used to the cold. Brown dog your henhouse is awesome! Poor granny never had one near that nice!
  13. Awe he's beautiful. My four boxers and I will be hoping his family finds him soon.
  14. Right on girl! Take care of you and tell them to hit the road! Jack!
  15. Spunky woman I'm sorry for your troubles and I don't know you at all but...are you talking about your kids leaving without even asking about you? Are they adults? Kids are naturally selfish and tend to think of us parents as indestructible but this seems a little extreme! I think if my adult child was that inconsiderate I would ask him/her to find somewhere else to live. In no uncertain terms! Maybe then you could find some peace in solitude and begin to find out what's wrong with you. If these are minor children, depending on age, I would show them the same amount of love and concern as they
  16. That's what I don't get. Why have such a strong opinion about someone else's kid? There's nothing y'all can do about how she raises her kid!
  17. You should call them about that. Surely they could just stop and get her? Unless you are ok with her walking by herself in which case I will butt out.
  18. Plus Harmony Grove has so many bad curves.
  19. Yes. You can be stressed out about your driver, I'm still stressed out about mine (senior) especially when it's raining.
  20. Maybe later in the year, this kid is a first time bus rider from what mom has written. A lot of moms in my neighborhood can't see the bus stop, which is right in front of my house, from their house. I've gotten plenty of calls from parents, "can you keep an eye on ________ until they round the corner?" Some older than 6th grade.
  21. I used to walk a mile each way to elementary school, it junior high the distance increased to a mile and a half. I would not have been the least bit embarrassed to have someone there to pick me up!!! But parents didn't worry about bad things happening back then, or maybe they just didn't care. Maybe my generation goes a little overboard to make sure our kids are safe and know they are cared for, but there's nothing wrong with that! Like mei lan says, we are not in Kansas anymore!
