I am SOOOOOO sorry for your loss. Some folks just don't get it that they are our "children with fur". My heart breaks for what you are going through. But, at the same time I am SO happy Sandy found her Forever Home with you. She lived a good and happy life. May you find some comfort in that.

YEP. Sho' nuff. However food is my one vice and all I know how to cook is "Southern". Gonna enjoy life what few days I might have. However, I have modified my SWEET TEA (which I prob drink close to a gallon a day. I don't drink coffee) with Sweet 'n Low rather than sugar. Does that count?

Sounds good, Surepip! Last nights dinner was great (of course). I am making Country Fried Steak & Gravy tonight, too. Mine is basic "Country/Southern" and will simmer in the gravy for several hours this afternoon. Served with it will be mashed sour cream taters, cabbage stir fry with bacon & onions and leftover crunchy fresh baked baguette.

Several restaurants automatically give DH and I Senior Discount without asking our age - and have for several years. I guess with Pop's silver/white hair and Nana and her cane we fit the part. Of course we do qualify. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all. I will take any savings I can get and am proud of every year the Good Lord sees fit to give me! I was not aware of the discount at Kroger so THANK YOU. I will do more shopping on Wednesdays now.

That is "the way it was BACK IN THE DAY". A saxophone player in our HS band was always a bit different but what the difference was was never discussed. He and his straight brother became Eagle Scouts. We have reunited on FB and he is a renowned author who travels the country educating educators. He has written a book about bullying and is very much "out". He is an advocate with the State House for the North Carolina GLAD organizations. I am proud to call him my friend and for all of his success living a "normal" life.

My daughter is the one mentioned above whose skates stopped and she hit the floor face first. Wade was performing as "Aladdin" that night at PCHS and I had wondered why she wasn't there as planned. When we got out of the auditorium and I turned my phone back on I had a message from my SIL telling me to call him. When he told me she had fallen at the skating rink my first thought was a broken arm. But, when he said she knocked her front teeth out my thought was "OMG ALL THE MONEY I SPENT ON BRACES".

I am still heartsick over the Falcons not being in NOLA so I don't really care who wins. One part of me wants to cheer for the 49'ers since they beat the Falcons and need to prove they deserve to be there and go all the way. Plus they are in the National League. BUT??? Not sure I can go there. DH likes Joe Flacco and I like Michael Oher so maybe will be for the Ravens???? We'll be having DH's famous chicken wings. Some will be Garlic Parmesan, some lemon pepper and some hot wings. Homemade potato skins and cheese sticks. I haven't seen any of the commercials (intentionally) so they w
