you are correct... which in return carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and it just sits there.. that is one reason why oxygen is needed to put fresh air in.

my mama is a ex smoker, and also worked around chemicals all her life... she was diagnosed with copd/emphysema 4 years ago, about 10 years ago she has what they call collapsing lungs, her right lung collapsed 3x they took out the 2 upper lobes of her right lung, and then her left lung collapsed 2x.. no surgery on that one.. so every since then any kind of lung infection she gets (bronchitis, upper respiratory infection, phenomena,) has always been hard on her. she was handling the copd ok until jan when she had to be hospitalized for an Acute exacerbation which is bad copd attack, and

there are 4 stages of copd just like cancer... this stuff is so much like lung cancer, but yet so different

I have been spending a lot of time down in your neck of the woods lately Thanks COPD is a scary thing.. my mama is probably in stage 4 now.. just since jan. when she was in stage 3 Thanks.... I have already told everyone that if you are sick do not come knocking on mama's door... her immune system is so low right now i think a cold would put her in the hospital.

Thank you for your kind words... and prayers they are diffidently needed and appreciated. 2 years ago her lung capacity was 50% she has also had lung surgery years ago were she had the collapsed lungs (before we found out she has COPD) and they had to remove the 2 top lobes of her right lung.. when i take her back to the doctor we will find out what her lung capacity is now.

ok then i am glad i did not go see it, I thought the ship scenes would be good in 3d I would have hated to waste the money.

My mama has had COPD/Emphysema now for 4 years or longer, she has slowly gotten worse over the years, but since Jan when she was hospitalized she seems to have gotten worse really fast. 2x this week, I have either had to call ambulance for her, or take her to ER room. This is my first experience with this, so i am looking for anyone who can give me any advice on this disease. I have read about it until my brain is mush. she is on oxygen full time has been since jan. and I have watched her get worse.. a little everyday... so anything any of you can tell me who have experienced this

I agree.... I am dreading the summer hot weather.... i am dreading it more for my mama she has having some health issues and the hot weather will not be good on her at all. but i love the cool weather... to me this is perfect weather, cool enough not to burn up, and warm enough to enjoy the nice sunny weather..
