I've have less opportunities to connect with like-minded people since moving to Pauding County than anywhere I've lived before. Spring is coming which is traditionally a start of new growth so I have decided to explore ways to find others out there who share the same interests. I did find this website that looks interesting: http://likeminded.org/ If anyone thinks any of this sounds like something you might like please post in this thread or send me a pm. TIA!

It sounds like your parents had a lot of fun. Was that in Georgia?

I've been checking www.meetup.com for local meetups, but for the most part they seem to be held in areas 25-30 miles away. Why is that? http://www.meetup.com/cities/us/ga/hiram/?radius=5&radiusSet=true&show=results&sort=default&keywords=&mcName=Hiram%2C+Georgia%2C+USA&op=search&sort=default&resetgeo=true&events=&show=results

Clark Howard mentions a risk of an increase in insurance premiums: Posted: 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 Damaged windshield ploy is fastest growing insurance scam The Sun Sentinel reports the fastest growing insurance scam involves con artists approaching motorists in parking lots and offering to fix a supposedly damaged windshield -- without involving insurance or requiring you to pay a deductible. The scamsters will tell you about a barely visible crack in your windshield that threatens to burst wide open. The National Insurance Crime Bureau reports this scam is up more

I've noticed a lot of different brands and flavors of Hummus showing up in stores lately. Do any of you make it at home? I looked a little online, and I noticed one person recommends dried chickpeas vs. canned. Does anyone know where to buy the dried ones? Do you have a recipe you like?

The one that talked to me at Kroger was dressed neatly and had a shirt on that said D.A.R.E., but I hadn't heard of the program before. He pointed out a couple of really tiny nicks. I did wonder how much my insurance would be billed, etc.

That one cent store will have a new pricing policy.

I would like to see all stores have the scanners where a customer can easily check the price of an item. -
Thanks. I hadn't noticed anything before. I wonder how many people they told their windshield didn't need repaired though.

I was surprised when I saw it mentioned on another website right after reading this thread. It was on the blog of the creator of the comic strip that LPPT posted. I don't like his work, but some do: Saturday, April 16, 2011 Thoughts on a Recent Visit to Northern Virginia Excerpted from a manuscript that needs a lot of work. I had a job in journalism in the DC area when I was a kid. I delivered The Washington Post in my neighborhood in Arlington. We lived in a decent part, nothing fancy. The longest-held POW in Vietnam owned one of the homes on my route. There were other military -
They were at the Kroger gas pumps on Ridge Road yesterday (a Dougasville address). I wonder who approved them to be there?

Has anyone heard anything more about this church? -
An article online stated that at a store in South Carolina had signs posted saying that they would be open until February 15.

When I was at Kroger today getting gas a D.A.R.E. representative told me they were doing windshield repairs. I had never heard of them doing that, but I found this online: http://www.dare.com/chip_program.asp He showed me a couple of tiny places on the passenger's side. I told him I wanted to think about it. Is it good to have really tiny specks repaired?

Does anyone know if they increased the amount off today?
