Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

I changed my mind. Georgia should just kill him. He is either too stupid or evil to live, the court will decide which. If he planned to do it and ate anyway, horrible. If he ate, then having satisfied his need for fast food, "forgot," just as horrible. Faith in humanity is hard to maintain sometimes. -
They didn't have computers. (Just as relative the situation as your comment.)

I feel that way about marriage. I'm giving the good Citizen the win. He wants it more. He just won't say it. It's bad form to win, everybody should get a trophy just for playing... (Or food, housing, daycare, insurance, utilities, and and some cash on a card just for breathing/breeding.)

Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

I'm going to reserve judgment because I wasn't there and neither was Facebook and I won't be on the jury. Maybe he just usually dropped off one child, I have no idea. Maybe he was late or tired or stressed or just stupid. I don't know the people, won't pretend I am grieving, not going to say I cried my eyes out. It's sad and disturbing to think about, but I don't need another person's tragedy to feed from, too many do that as it is. I view it as a cautionary tale to slow down, breathe, and concentrate on what is really important. I still like to think nobody would knowingly bake their -
I know nobody ever changes their mind on the Internet. We are what we are. I just post when I get irritated. Working on post I see how many units are gone and where they are going. We are all over the world. Anybody who thinks all of our troops are just sitting at home is dead wrong. They still case the colors and go pretty often around here. And they want to go (most of them). They want to serve. And many are still pissed about Iraq because they didn't get to finish, were just pulled out when they were on verge of making a real change. They feel like they abandoned the Iraqi people be

You mean like your heros who never wore boots but are called Commander In Chief anyway? Kosovo. Don't claim the UN thing makes that different, we are ISAF now in Afg. Same thing.

Bill Clinton said we should liberate Iraq. You can blame him now if you want. Clinton always makes me think of "Black Hawk Down." Wiki had this interesting tidbit: In Clinton's 1998 State of the Union Address, he warned Congress of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's possible pursuit of nuclear weapons: Together we must also confront the new hazards of chemical and biological weapons, and the outlaw states, terrorists and organized criminals seeking to acquire them. Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the

Yay! I was waiting for you! Bill Clinton, Iraq Liberation Act, 1998. I win, right?! Right?!!!

Counter insurgency. That's what they called the last two Marine deployments. It sounds more like they aren't fighting, they are just helping. Democrats don't go to war, they just do COINOPS. Because it isn't really about what you do, it's about how you say it. Because then you can be liberal in the safety of your own home and not have to actually risk anything or bust your ass for anything. You just say it now and it "is." It's magic. I'm a bit jealous of that super power.

Having to pay for an attorney and a funeral. What a nightmare. At least let him bury his kid first. If someone talks to me while I'm getting ready in the morning and disrupts my routine I will forget a step (deoderant, or mascara, or grab my coffee cup off the counter). We are all so distracted, so hard to keep our asses covered these days. I can see how this happens. What I can't see is any intent. I hope the DA knows something we don't, that this dad was committing the crime of the century, that the dad planned this. If not, damn. Just damn. No winners here. -
COINOPS is a good stall tactic (Let's not call them "boots on the ground" for now, right? Because 500 doesn't count...) while the drones, jets, ships, and troops sent to Africa this year gear up... (Now I'm going to wait quietly for some War for Oil! folks so I can remind them Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act. Because they forget to mention that. Because C comes after B, I think. Not sure.)
-
Where all my "War for Oil" people be at? Hmm? Because that group has been very, very quiet lately. As much as I hate it for Iraq (Yep, they are people, too. They have cute kids. I can't hate them.), I laughed out loud at this report. I'm so waiting to see if the WfO group is going to make up some crazy justification, just keep on blaming Bush (standard policy, I believe), or completely change their position on the impending military action based SOLELY on their fascination with their political party. I'm thinking they haven't read enough from liberal websites to form their "own" opinio

hahahaha We've had a new Commander for a very long time. I notice you didn't mention his name...

Hahahaha. Damn kids. Kids are fast, though, so I doubt they get caught. (For the record, I am fine with TP'ing because it only makes a mess. Eggs are a no-go, but TP is funny. So I'm not claiming sainthood.)

No, but I thought this thread was going to be about Ray. Made me think about him for a second...

That's not boredom, that's vandalism. Parents need to fix that sheeze, not the schools.

So tell us . . . why did you seek political power?

I think it's amusing to have the "we need more paid members" kind of posts followed by the "if you don't post what I like you should stop coming here and go post somewhere else" kind of posts all in the same thread. And I can never really understand the endless political posting. You vote alone. No matter what anyone else posts, you still vote alone (unless you are a secret loser and don't actually vote, just pretend to). You are gonna do what you are gonna do. You can even lie about it later if you want some smilies... I think Pubby is brave for running. You really put yourself out th -
California Judge strikes down tenure for teachers
hart408 replied to cranemec's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This represents what most people don't understand about education: Teachers have a bit of influence on student outcomes, but not a bunch. Most of what makes a student successful/not successful has to do with home. All of the green is home (parental-influenced) and so is the "Other School Factors" because we all know "rich" schools are more successful than most "poor" schools. RIch kids have a better chance than poor kids and that is entirely up to the parents. Until parents learn to get involved in schools in a meaningful and POSITIVE way, nothing will change. You can blame teachers all y -
This was the nugget of wisdom in all of this. I can't make a fair judgment because I didn't know the people. I'm not in mourning. It didn't change my life. I won't attend the funeral. I won't even read the follow up news story, just trolling a bit while I clean today. But it was no accident. Why do people make such heroes out of someone who offers a kind word? Why is it such a heroic feat to post some inane comment about how much you care when in reality you don't care, it doesn't affect your life, and you didn't even know the people involved. It is EXPECTED. We ALL know it was tragic.

An hour away from the day of the greatest invasion in history.

We have unmanned ground vehicles in the maneuver labs and many kinds of UAVs already deployed. I don't think people realize how many of those we already have. We won't need a draft. I'm not sure about the USAF or USN, but we have more soldiers and Marines from other countries than most people realize. It is the gateway to citizenship for many. I met one from a tiny village in Tibet the other day, grew up in a tent. A tent. Service members from different African countries and faraway islands are no longer a rarity. And many of our neighbors to the south are willing to serve to earn their pl -
And those of you who try to control other adults with your Super Internet Powers crack me up. Unplug a little and boss the people around at your own house. I never feel badly if I get Internet Chastised, I just see how many cows will join the herd. haha I don't think some of you realize how funny your manufactured indignation is to people who actually already "know better" but do it just to irritate you or amuse themselves. Just an added perspective, take it or leave it. But you will most likely leave it and continue to try to "fix" the "bad" poster.

When I see stories like this I wonder if the people involved had a long, drawn-out toxic relationship or if it was a one-off-I-got-super-mad thing. So many of us aren't willing to just walk away. And so many toxic people won't let us simply walk away and do something else. You can't "fix" other adults (or tell them how they should respond or what they should say, for that matter) and some people are willing to put up with amazing amounts of dysfunction just to get a "win". I hope the two people involved didn't have children, but I'm pretty sure they left some people behind to deal with the

This will never happen. We don't even make a large chunk of our population work to feed themselves, no way we would ever make them fight. Those days are long gone. In a decade or so every last WWII vet will be gone. This page has a list of last surviving US veterans, some from forgotten wars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_surviving_United_States_war_veterans -
I work with members of our military. They seem to favor these kinds of pictures on their social media sites. Because they protect and defend with those guns. They are quite fond of them. Of course, using your logic, almost every member of our military has mental problems. Nice. But not as nice as you liking your own post. hahahaha That was better. I think they should just outlaw this woman altogether because her husband has tattoos:
