  1. I had looked at the garter snakes and wondered. That's the closest one I saw. Might be. Hmmm....
  2. My hubby encountered this snake today and was actually bitten on the finger by it. I'm not sure what kind it is! It's obviously non-venomous! We're in very S. GA. - and this occurred close to the N. FL line. I've looked for the last 30 mins, and I've not found this exact snake. ++++++++++++++ Looks like it was more than likely what is called a Yellow Rat Snake. Thanks for the help! ++++++++++++++
  3. Love me some TBAR! I can just picture the fire coming off his feet as he exited the room!
  4. If you want to drive almost five hours, by all means, come enjoy the Spooktacular with us!
  5.  This is the most ambitious display I've ever taken on... fortunately I have a lot of help/support from family.
  6. There are tons of ideas online -- that's a great source of inspiration / creativity. I'd love to come up to Paulding to go to the HJH - sounds like a blast. We're considering driving a few hours and going to a place called "Haunted Montrose" -- looks terrifying!!! http://www.hauntedmontrose.com/
  7. Thanks! I want the yard to be spooky fun for the kids. A safe place to walk through where they can have some shivers, chills, and laughs!! We're also doing a "toddler area" where it won't be spooky, and it'll be away from the scary stuff. We don't want to have a little one crying and scared.
  8. Nope! We've not even had a 1/8th of the rain you've had! Thanks CO!
  9. UPDATE 10-12-09 Here are the two Sentinels... Guardians of the Pathway thru the Haunted Yard (They aren't in place yet). This one's eyes will light up on the haunt nights! This is Jack... he's our scarecrow. He's going to be super creepy when the lighting/scene around him is all done. This is Minerva... she's one of the Ghoul children, who will sit in one of the cemetery scenes. Yes, she does bite!: The Witch's head is almost completed: How's your decorating coming along?
  10. And this post is yet another reason of why I think you rock LPPT! Gosh, girl... I miss hearing your cackle in person.
  11. Awwww, what a hoot she is! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (late) HR!!!
  12. I fell asleep during the last half of the show. I was pooped! But it sure is fascinating. I enjoyed what I did see of it -- and hope to catch it on a repeat time.
  13. Fotogirl... I think this is some of your best work - at least of shots I've seen of yours. Seriously... really great stuff. Just had to look at this thread again, and show my Mom!
  14. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great shots... The costume turned out fantastic Lowrider!
  15. Hoshi --- you really need to take a break. Seriously! Your recent behavior takes away from what you're trying to share IMO. You know, it's ok to have differing opinions. And you don't have to take everything quite so seriously. I don't think anyone's statements have been personal. Mine certainly haven't been. I won't be getting any of shots - seasonal or otherwise. And you and yours (to use your words) are more than welcome to stay away from me and mine, if it makes you feel safer.
  16. YEP!!! I didn't fall off the turnip truck this morning. And using that information, theoretically you should be fearful of *all* people -- vaccinated or not.
  17. I love statements like "... if you aren't getting the shots, stay away from me and mine." Cracks me up every time. The wild thing about that is that it illustrates oh so well the fact that vaccinations are no guarantee, and incidentally don't do much to bolster people's confidence in them to boot. So fearful of non-vaccinated folks, yet you're vaccinated??? Say it ain't so!
  18. I added a more warty/bumpy appearance to the witch's nose: I'll share the ghoul children photos shortly. Also working on the heads for our two Sentinels -- they will be the "guardians" as folks enter the display. They'll be tall creatures made entirely out of tall saplings/sticks, with stick cross arms. One will have a deer skull with large antlers, the other a head/face made out of roots with maybe eyes cut out of metal so they'll just be shiny spots.
  19. That should be interesting! I'll have to see if they'll have it in podcast, since that's the only way I'll see it from S. GA.
