  1. Notice, no one has gone after anyone personally... or did you not understand that the first time?
  2. Notice please, he did not direct that comment at anyone directly. The only person who whined and spoke up about it was the person whose foot this shoe fits.
  3. If you push it, it doesn't matter what age you are, you can get the discount. This is true with any establishment that offers "senior discounts." It's age discrimination and it's illegal. I personally don't make an issue out of it, because I know a lot of seniors are on a low income budget and these things are to try to offer a little respect and help them out financially. But if someone wanted to be an ass about it, they have to offer you the same discount. If people started requesting the same discount that's offered to seniors, it wouldn't be long until most businesses
  4. Of course it is. Everyone but you fails to understand. Everyone but you is mistaken and doesn't know how it works.
  5. Sigh. I know you're really sorry, but yes, that IS how it works. That is how it has worked throughout history and is how it currently works. I'm letting politics get in the way? Where did I say anything about politics? It has nothing to do with politics. It's where money is spent and who spends it. People allowed to keep their money and spend as they see fit; the economy flourishes. People are taxed to hell, the government spends the money, the economy suffers.
  6. Not to be a downer... but do you think he would have acted the same way if you had bought $20 in fuel? BTW, I understand that it was your fault in forgetting to ask for the receipt at the pump, but nothing burns me up more when buying gas as to when you ask for a receipt at the pump and it's out of paper and you have to go in for it. The Marathon station on 61S NEVER has paper in their pumps. I understand that they get busy and some times can't get them refilled, but this station NEVER has receipts. I pay at the pump because I don't want to go in. I, and a few other people I
  7. That's EXACTLY right! You can't tell these 'p.com experts' that though... for some reason, they think the more money the govt artifically pumps in to the system, the better the economy flourishes. Nothing is further from the truth... it's exactly ass-backwards of how it really works and has historically worked.
  8. So, please show me where any of these economists say that when the government cuts defense spending, which puts thousands of people out of work, it will cause an economic increase. Let's see... government cuts wasteful spending and can decrease the amount of taxes being levied on the people. Those people keep more of the money they earned, where they will spend it and/or invest it, which DOES cause the economy to flourish... OR... we decrease NEEDED funding for national defense, put thousands of people who work for the defense contractors, out of work, who now have no or little
  9. It's sad that some people lump "government spending going down" in to one big category and aren't smart enough to know that a reduction in government spending in some arenas is bad for the economy and in some arenas, it's beneficial to the economy. I would think any educated person who reads that the "defense spending" being cut is a HUGE negative impact on the economy. So much education and so much ignorance of the subject.
  10. Once they are outside your house, you are correct. If they are INSIDE your house, you can indeed use deadly force to stop them and protect your property/possessions. 16-3-23. A person is justified in threatening or using force against another when and to the extent that he or she reasonably believes that such threat or force is necessary to prevent or terminate such other´s unlawful entry into or attack upon a habitation; however, such person is justified in the use of force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm only if: (1) The entry is made or attempted in

I appreciate people being curteous to other drivers... BUT, it's actually illegal for you to 'wave' someone through traffic. It's illegal for a non-authorized person to "direct traffic." While I am sure it would be overlooked in an emergency situation under the good Samaritan protection, under regular circumstances, you can get a ticket for it... I also understand that Mr. Dis is a fire fighter and is probably authorized to "direct traffic," but I am almost positive that would not apply unless he is doing so in the line of duty.
  12. Bollocks! You clearly don't understand what you are reading and the author is misleading and mid-characterizing the story.
  13. Complex math problem? With a lot of the kids I see these days, simply asking them to make change for $21.00 when the bill is $11.00, without using a calculator, is a complex math problem.
  14. Yeah, I can see you understand perfectly...
  15. Glad you Googled that... too bad you don't understand it. A republic is NOT a democracy, however it is derived from the democracy role model.
  16. I suggest both of you go back and read up on our country. We are NOT a democracy... we are a republic. It's kind of hard for either of you to argue your point, in either direction, when you haven't a clue as to what type of system our country uses.
  17. Last time I checked, "pitch" was the black gooey tar like substance that you seal the decks of ships and roof tops with... Or it could be the way we measure sound waves... I think what the almighty educated one means is "ball field."
  18. Stop showing your ignorance. What I said was absolutely correct. YOU are the incorrect one. No, it wasn't a "constable," it was an off duty school resource police officer. And no, a "constable" in the USA is not the same thing as a police officer, although they have many of the same authorities. I never said it was a "layman." I said it was a GOOD GUY with a GUN. You loose again. Thank you for playing, troll. Move along please.
  19. I've never had it tested, but I do keep air purifiers running all the time. I have large ones with HEPA filters throughout the house and it's astonishing how much crap they pull out of the air.
  20. ...and a GOOD guy with a gun prevented it from going any further.
  21. You mean like all the people who are convicting the guy without knowing all the facts? I can't believe how many people read a news story and believe it at face value, knowing how poor and unreliable news agencies are these days. Here's a novel idea. Let the 12 people on the jury decide if he was justified or not, since nobody here knows what happened. It amazes me how many people form an opinion and are willing to hang someone based on a very loose story that is certainly in its infancy. I'm not saying he was or wasn't justified... and if he wasn't, I certainly want to see
  22. Thomas Jefferson is not the Constitution nor does The US Constitution say anything that the citizens SHOULD be armed. I suggest you go read it. It says the right of the citizen's to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That means the government shall not restrict the citizen's from owning arms. It doesn't say that all citizen's SHOULD own arms. There is a HUGE difference in the two concepts. The quote you posted is from Jefferson and it's in reference too the individual states Constitutions, not the US Constitution.
  23. Please don't beat yourself up over this. Exactly...
  24. Me either. Because I will walk away from anything that it's possible to walk away from and you'll never know that I am carrying, if you see me in public.
  25. Love the joke! To bad most liberals on here will say that it's probably true of us "gun tot'en rambo types." If I have to throw lead, it's LARGE chunks. I carry a .45acp, most of the time a Kimber... some times a baby Glock. In either case, it's all the time. Why do I carry a .45? Because they don't make a .46!
