I agree that corn ethanol is a major problem. I have never been a big fan of it. It is telling though that when we went to that mandate it caused the world to decry us as criminals against humanity because of the impact it had on the world food supply and pricing. I think of paying "your time" the entire period that you are a property owner until you are a senior citizen. That way my share is spread over a longer period that saves me fro paying really high taxes over a 12 Year period. Or to illustrate it more directly... assume my school tax burden was $500 / year for a period of 40 years until I get the discount as is the system now. That yields a total tax of $20, 000 to the system. If I paid for only the period that my child was in school but still having to cover the same cost of education $20, 000. Most of us undwrstand exactly what you are saying. The difference is simple. When discussing MW jobs for the most part we are discussing jobs done by teens still in school and drop outs with little to no skills or experience and that has been the case for decades. Right now we as a whole are we experiencing a period of hard to find jobs with most of the jobs out there being PT and / or low pay. You can blame a lot of that on current law and policy. MW jobs were never meant to serve as a means to support a family. It is undfortunate that those are the only jobs available to these skilled worke

I'm just waiting on you to come on out and say that ALL jobs need to pay the same wage and that it should be a "living wage" as you call it. It does not matter what you do on the job or what training or skills are required in orser to do it. Just so we all get the same amount and that it is sufficient to cover all the things that YOU believe we all should have. That is afterall pretty clise to where you are going with this whether you see it or not.

I was talking to an electronics employee the other day at the Douglasville store. We were discussing the average pay there for a regular employee. She said that it was around $9.50 / hour. There you have it.

Most of the time we use a metal scouring pad at the fire station. If you want to start a shift war go ahead and use soap. The scouring pad is not the same as steel wool. We just scrub it all out and rinse. Dry them on the burner and put a little Pam or such in it and wipe it out. Then we put paper towels in them and stack them up. We don't do the last part if your station has a place to hang them. Mine does not so we stack them on the counter.
