I have an extra HDMI cable on both TVs. I watch Instant netflix videos from my laptops over the home wireless system. It also dobles as a monitor so whatever I see on my laptop screen can be seen at the same time on the TV. Ah yes... nothing like PCOMing on the 42" plasma. That's a joke people... I could but do not do that.

How exactly should someone act when they are arrested?
nschur replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah me beating out 615 other applicants for the job means that they really have no choice in hiring but the worst for the job and it's "glory" right? And the other applicants face pretty much the same competition too. -

He WAS following policy set forth by his dept. Just think for a momment that he is/was innocent. If he had handcuffed her and believed the incident at an end and turned off the camera only to have her unexpectedly attack/resist or just plain fall down, he would have been caught off guard. Turning the camera back on would simply have been to document the situation from that point. Mind you that this is all a big what if, just as it is on the other side. I personally do not understand why any dept. would not have a camera recording in this area at all times. Just like in the video that I post -

Think what you want to. There are cameras everywhere. Not just with the police but in everyones phones. Any misdeed, every bad decision, and all accidents are likely to be caught on tape. And then you have all the departments themselves watching everything that goes on inside their facilities. And just where is it that you think any misguided LEO would feel comfortable with doing any abusive thing knowingly? I said virtually because there will likely still be occasions that someone does perform badly, but it will still likely be captured on some type recording device. -

The days of people being abused by LE is virtually over. What used to be somewhat common is now the exception. But noone will ever admit that their bad experience with the cops was one of their own making. I am truly thankful for the addition of video and audio to help protect our LEOs from all the untrue allegations that continue to be made. And everytime I hear of a reverse lawsuit win from a LEO against a malicious citizen complaint I go -

Is he diabetic? Nothing like fighting with a diabetic while trying to start an IV to give D50. The good news is that most police jurisdictions are training in this now. -
I am allergic to peanuts so I will have to pass on that. I would take a regular parfait though. Getting them to understand what that is, is a totally differnt story. Think of it as a banana split (without the banana) in the same glass.

First off GA implied consent. All drivers are required by law to be familiar with all of the state's driving laws. Implied consent is covered in the driver's manual. But being as so many drivers are unaware of this, the police go to extreme measures of making sure that you have been advised and hopefully understand them. Things have probably changed a little since 1996. Anyway what implied consent means is that you will submit to the required test at the officers discretion. If you refuse, (and you do have the right to) you will have your license suspended for a year just because you refused. -

COWA, that excerpt probably came from the same place you got yours, CBS news but you failed to post that part but you did post this or the link. I have not been picking and choosing what I posted over this as it appears you have. It does NOT sound like a fender bender. The 2nd part explains why the video was turned off. -
Do you know how much trouble I have had with Dis jr. exercising his right to relieve himself in public, on the playground, off the play equipment, off the deck, in the bushes (only a problem because he ran right by the bathroom to go out into the bushes), in the parking lot, in front of little girls, etc. etc etc. All because his uncle told him it was ok to do that when we were over there swimming. UUUUGGGGG. I think I have him down to using the bushes now.

Yes COWA, an unprotected fall on your face can do all that and kill you. I ran a call on a dead man that fell while drunk outside on Thanksgiving. He slipped and fell face first on the concrete, suffered a smashed face and a broken neck /skull. That is called a Basilar fracture. Nobody beat him up, he fell down and his hands were not even bound. You need to get over the thought that this can not happen. It most surely can and does. Whether are not it was the case here is purely speculation on anyone's part. Those that mistrust PD will say he beat her, while those that believe mos officers will -

Have you ever fallen face first with you hands restrained and unable to break your fall while intoxicated? If not then there is no comparison. I have looked close to that everytime my nose was broken. To date that is about 3 times plus the surgery to repair my nose from past injuries. None of my breaks were from someone puching me in the face. -

The article I read said he was given his job back with back pay. But he has since resigned. My link I still haven't seen prior complaints though. If there is a litany of past complaints of use of force violations, that lends credence to her side of the story. Just a reminder, I have a use of force complaint against me for "scaring" that man's wife. Totaly unfounded and I have been exonerated of it. It is not on my POST certification but it is with the department. I also have a use of lethal force investigation for returning fire on the man that shot me and my partner. I was exonerat -
The law says EVERYONE is allowed to "pee" in public unincumbered as long as some action was taken to try to conceal themselves. To just "whip this thing out" as it were, and releive yourself in full view of all the public would be frowned upon. 16-6-8. Public indecency (a) A person commits the offense of public indecency when he or she performs any of the following acts in a public place: (1) An act of sexual intercourse; (2) A lewd exposure of the sexual organs; (3) A lewd appearance in a state of partial or complete nudity; or (4) A lewd caress or ind

It's OK, normally I would have let it slide but that one was too funny to let go. I could just see PSD on the side of the road somewhere giving his car what for or cursing at innocent motorists as he drove by them.

My all time favorite one was the dude I took to Kennestone for his BA/UA. He was very angry. I kept hearing ptooo, ptooo all the way back to the jail. Got back to find that he hocked lugies all over the screen. Well he did get to sleep in our wonderful pink establishment... Until I got off at 0600. At that point I got the pleasure of kicking his sorry butt out of the bunk and making him clean the mess up. Boy!!! he was not happy!! -
It seems that someone privy to sensitive information, I'm not naming names here SW, has hacked into my Facebook account and taken over my farmville account. Who the heck are all these so called friends and even better yet... where did all these valentines come from?

You may have missed the last part of my post, 2 posts back Also I did not condone bad behavior in the dept. that I worked in either. Upon my letter of resignation was the listing of my supervisor's job performance. And I will only say this about race because it was pertinent. He was a minority. He was my supervisor and WE did get along personaly. He was not very well trained though. As a supervisor, He beat a subordinate over a disagreement before I started, to the point of sending him to the hospital via ambulance. He was fired. The minority leaders in our jurisdiction got him his jo -

Charges were filed against her. DWI and hit and run. In GA You are not required to read Miranda rights under these circumstances. You do not have a right to have counsel present. You do not have the right to a phone call until you have been booked in. We are required to read you you Implied Consent Notification. Which is what the officer appears to have been trying to do. In GA, under implied consent, you have already consented to give Breath Alyzer, BA/UA at the officers discretion. If you do not comply you WILL have your license suspended. That is likely the same in LA and the whole reason b -

Sorry, my response was not directed squarely at you. There are those that see only bad in PD officers, no matter what they do. With that said there are always a few bad apples in every bunch, but we would be remiss to throw out the whole bundle just because we fond a bad apple. I have been looking into this further. The case seems to be from 2007. Since then, I can find where she was charged with DWI. I can not find the outcome of the case. I also have found where she was given a $400k settlement. I will take this momment to say what was told to me by my training officers during training.
