It seems to me, that many people are o.k. with discrimination until it happens to them. Snarky comments like people want the government to be their mommies and daddies only reinforce that the people doing the discriminating like things the way they are and they demonize those who speak against it, because they are pissed off people are calling them out on it.

So, if one sect or group of Islam commits an an act of terror, then all Muslims are terrorists. So, if Catholic, (one sect of Christianity) priests molest little children, then all Christians are child molesters? Just using your logic.

I seem to remember Johnny Carson having to shorten his show from 90 minutes to 1 hour because his rating were falling badly. Carson is an icon but I'm sure he had many episodes tank; it's impossible in this type of format. I think once Fallon does this for a while, he'll be pretty good.

Fallon's strength isn't the monologue; he's not a stand up comedian like Leno, so I doubt the monologue will ever be as good as Leno. However, he is a better sketch comic and does great impressions and song parodies. I think they need to tailor the show to his strengths.

I think Jay was paid a ton of money to "walk away".

I'm not a Leno fan, but he was treated badly. I like Fallon, but I'm not sure he'll do well.

NBC's primetime shows are pretty lousy and that will have a direct impact on Fallon's ratings.

Less than 50 years ago, a person could be killed, especially in the South, for the crime of being black. This anger won't go away overnight. Black people who lived through this are still alive and for them, that experience will never go away. Proper enforcement of the law will be a big step in lessening of this pain. I agree with you the parents want the murder conviction for closure. However, comparing the people angry over this killing and wanting justice to bratty-assed kids is unfair.
