Student Hugs Teacher, Gets Suspended For A Year
NewsJunky replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Don't think it has been proven that the kid did that. If you tried that crap with me you might have to answer to Hubby and trust me you would not like that at all. -
More and more folks are coming to the conclusion that it has harmed more folks than it has helped. Read this morning that some people who went to the exchange are having their bank accounts cleaned out in addition to finding themselves without insurance.

Yeah, maybe she taught him it was OK to love everybody and that hugs were OK. Yep if she did that she may have failed him. -
Takes a real man to admit when he has been an ass!

Most insurance companies had agreed to cover them even without the unaffordable care act. There was always a pool for that even before Obama's big experiment. Same as there is one for high risk auto coverage. Hey, they are now paying more under this act than they would have to begin with from what I hear.

Who knows what the real story is but I do wonder why the teacher did not contact the Mother in some way. If she cared for the future of the kid I think she could have stopped the whole thing by getting Mom involved. -
Student Hugs Teacher, Gets Suspended For A Year

That statement was in the news article and it came from the student. He still swears that it was just a hug. It is becoming more and more apparent that we should teach our kids and grandkids not to get too close to folks and certainly not teachers. Yep political correctness has taken a toll. Some kids never get a hug except from a caring teacher. -
Four Legislators plan on introducing a Bill to block implementation of Obamacare in Georgia. They will follow the lead of South Carolina, where a Bill is being fast tracked. If needed move to political forum. I thought this might be news for the community. http://nation.foxnews.com/2013/12/12/georgia-state-representatives-announce-legislation-blocking-implementation-obamacare Based on the Tenth Amendment Center’s four-step plan to nullify Obamacare on a state-level, the legislation would ban state participation, assistance, or any material support for the Affordable Care Act.

I read the article. The student denies it. -

I am hoping the Legislature will revisit the zero tolerance issue in schools. I am not sure how I feel about this case. According to the report the teacher said the student was told "no hugs" but he says he was not told not to hug said teacher. Mom said no message came home that it was a problem. Kids are dense sometimes. -
In Duluth Georgia a high school senior has been suspended for a year and won't graduate on time for hugging a teacher. Seems it is a violation of Gwinnett County Public Schools' rules on sexual harassment. Is this punishment too harsh or is it appropriate? http://www.kctv5.com/story/24209980/student-suspended-for-a-year-for-hugging-teacher?utm_campaign=Peach+Pundit+Daily+-+12%2F16%2F2013+Edition&utm_source=Signal&utm_medium=email Sam McNair, 17, was suspended last week when a school hearing officer found he violated the Gwinnett County Public Schools' rules on sexual harassment.

If nothing else it has caused disruption of finals and trouble for students and administration. I truly hope it is a hoax. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/12/16/harvard-alert-bomb-threat/4038355/

Really? A man/woman is only as good as his/her word. That is my opinion. If you have to break that word call the folks you gave it to or make a public announcement about why you need to break it.

I heard it on the news. Some folks think they can do anything with no repercussion.

I am trying to figure out if the goal of Obamacare was to insure a handful and get millions kicked out of their programs leaving them uninsured. Not cool Mr. President! I remember someone on here saying the birds were still singing and the sun was still rising after Obama was elected and some us were so worried. Well, for some with cancer who can no longer get their treatment because they lost their insurance the birds may not be singing and the sun may not be rising.

Nope. Very smart. It is my understanding that most of the folks who have signed up are going into the Medicaid programs. Who do you think will pay for it if there are very few in the paying part of the program? Georgia can't afford the expansion.

Primaries are May 20th. Think qualifying is in March.

Reaching aren't you? This is not political as far as I can tell except for the issue of elected officials making a decision that is unpopular with constituents.. Why try to make it political by talking of Rush and Neil. What do they have to do with this issue?

I lean in this direction too. I question when the organs were removed. Funeral home said they did not do it, correct? They would be of no use for transplant unless retrieved quickly, correct? There was foul play in my opinion.

There is an idiot born every minute. She should have kept her pompous opinion to herself. I am sure the man was grateful and it was very kind of you.

Update, now they are aiming it at the kids.... http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/12/satanic-temple-monument-in-okla-may-include-interactive-display-for-kids/

In very poor taste!

I agree. Remind me never to get on her bad side.

Looks like the Senate has reached a deal. House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) stood side-by-side in the Capitol with Senate Budget Committee chairman Patty Murray (D-Wash.) to announce it. The fear by conservatives is that it will weaken sequester. It will fund federal agencies through the fall of 2015, avoiding another government shutdown. Not sure I am fond of this deal. The House could still kill it. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/house-senate-negotiators-reach-budget-deal/2013/12/10/e7ee1aaa-61eb-11e3-94ad-004fefa61ee6_story.html?Post+generic=%3Ftid%
