Pubby, I think there was one sentence you could have left out. PT has done a good job with his site and I don't think he has been in need of his own hits on it.
-
But perception is everything! You know what I think about him running! The folks who voted for him should have this cross to bear but all of Paulding and the Republican Party will have to carry it too!
-
I think Pubby was speaking of the comments, by readers, that are allowed after the article.
-
Pubby, I truly respect and admire the efforts made here to protect the innocent folks in all of this. I know that your site may have seen a lot more traffic if the whole story had been on here. It was going to come out though and he should have known that when his hat was thrown into the ring. I would not have run had I been in his shoes. Course he may win!
-
You do know that you have just ruled out a large portion of the population in Paulding County, don't you?

If you were a politician running for an office....

It works for candidates who use it the right way. I thought Kim Cobb did. She always took the high road and was totally up front with folks. -
Yes it is very sad for all concerned. Oh what a tangled web we weave........
-
Sounds like the story has changed! I wonder which one is the truth? I didn't vote for him for other reasons but I don't like it when folks can't get their stories straight.

If you were a politician running for an office....

I think Kim comes on when there is something concerning the schools and there is an open question for her. She reads topics on schools if she knows something is being discussed or if she has time to visit P.com. It would not surprise me to know that other BOE members read P.com as well. Yes, I don't think that would concern me. I think they would give a politician enough rope to hang himself!! -

I might post under a screen name, and I might post my platform, but I would never answer questions on the board. I would ask the voter to call me or come to a meeting and ask their questions. -
I looked at all of the choices and I decided he was the best choice for Paulding out of the 3! That's the way I voted. Yes Chris, your site drew the poster who told this story and you handled it very well. The other folks had to go there to get it.

I voted for Sibley but I made that decision before this stuff came out. I am glad that I voted for Sibley and I do believe he was the best candidate in this race. -
4-Day School Weeks Under Consideration In Georgia

Last I heard they were seeing trouble ahead for Hope Scholarships. Which do you think they will choose to do fund Hope or Pre-k? I really don't know how much of that program we fund but if we didn't fund Pre-k maybe it would make space in some day cares for kids going to 4 day school weeks. -

Now that is not even funny! This matter is important. If you don't want your past history open to the public DON'T RUN FOR OFFICE. If there is something out there just be up front about it and let the folks send you packing or vote you into office. Baggage and all. JMO -

Maybe they need to look, on the state level, at doing away with the Pre-K program. Yes, I know, nobody wants to give up anything and they don't want higher taxes either. They want their cake and they want to eat it too. -

I would think that choosing someone to vote for is making a judgement! I don't think you should to go into particulars on your site either. I like the line in the song that says "When you've got to choose ,Every way you look at it, you lose" How do you remember this stuff Pubby? -

I think his original response can only be found in LTD's post because it seems to have vanished along with the original accusation on the site where they were posted. Maybe my computer is just failing to pick them up. He did not address that in the response that LTD started this thread with. -

It will be hard for a little while but you will soon get over it. Just be thankful they are not moving to California! -

I think that might defeat the purpose of closing the school building because the cost for utilities would go on. Maybe they could look at that possibility and the cost vs savings though. -

Sorry Mr. Dis I don't have a solution for you. The BOE won't either unless I miss my guess they won't have any choice. The saving will be in transportation, utilities, and staff costs. Unless we can print money we will have to cut costs. Last time I checked we can't print money. Personally I would have cut some services for the past 2 or 3 years and saved that money toward the shortage we have today. Parents did not want that any more than they want a 4 day school week. More cuts are coming! It really may be an opportunity for some folks who are out of work to start keeping kids. -
4-Day School Weeks Under Consideration In Georgia

I think the day is coming, and soon, when some positions will be gone. No choice there. I don't think the BOE salary is that high. You couldn't pay me enough to do it. People aren't paying taxes because they are out of work and the federal money to the state is less and the state money to the county is less. We are going to have to find a way to either make up the difference or cut the services. I don't want a tax increase in this economy do you? -

I am going to play the bad guy here. Since when is it the job of the taxpayer to worry about daycare for other folks kids. The well is dry, no money there. I think the teachers are getting days off and I will bet you that admin. jobs will be cut. How many folks want to keep nurses in the schools. If you have the services you have to pay for them and we don't have the money coming in to do it. I like the 4 day school week idea to save money. I don't care what solutions they come up with it is not going to make everyone happy. Maybe you guys can suggest some services that can be cut.
