  1. dood. we have soooo got to get a rental house.
  2. we're doing ours on our own. just take the doors and hardware off, sand them down to remove and existing finish, then stain or paint them. the actual cabinets will have to be sanded down as well, might have to hang plastic to reduce the dust and mess. we're going with a paint sprayer rather than brushing or rolling on the paint. looks cleaner, in my opinion.
  3. is it odd that i'm not particularly scared of a new form of HIV that comes from gorillas? i mean, the likelyhood that i'll ever come into contact with a infected gorilla is what? .00002%? it's not like HIV can just jump up and bite you on the butt. there are certain things that you have to be doing to ctach it. it doens't come from hugs, kisses, snot, phlegm, sharing utensils, hi-fiving, knuckle bumping, talking on the same phone, etc. if you're thinking about having sex or sharing needles with a gorilla, or a human who's had a shady past involving gorillas, be afraid.
  4. nope. asking if boats are allowed on the lake. got my answer, so, nevermind.
  5. adding "worry about hr's gramma" to my list of things to do this week. seriously, be safe. wear sunscreen and bug spray, and comfortable yet sturdy shoes. set up camp 2 hours before dark. keep all food and waste stuff in ziploc bags (bears!). don't wipe wif poison ivy. check in with family/friends as often as you have a cell signal, and as soon as you're headed home. forget about leaving the trial of breadcrumbs. that hardly ever works out right. happy trails hun!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. i get mine at macland and 92. round 11 should be safe. want me to holler atcha?
  7. by this time next year, i will have paid off over 10k in debt. no more making minimum payments for me. all credit cards will be paid off and hubby's truck will be paid off a year early. things are much tighter now, budget wise, but it's cause i'm paying so much extra onto the bills. shopping with coupons helps, as does skipping the fast food in favor of eating left overs for lunch. it's so worth it to tighten our belts now, and have no real debt, (other than our mortgage), for the years to come.
  8. hi. i'm not arguing with you, but did you read the article posted above? she's not getting any "more" money. she's getting counselling.
  9. then i misunderstood the intent of the entire topic. the tone of the OP is that she's not fighting for the kids because she accepted money not to. (which isn't true, but anyhow....)
  10. and that being that..... people want her to fight for the kids? why? if she don't want 'em, she don't want 'em. why's it such a bad thing for her to not fight for them? let 'em stay with their granny. not everyone that can have kids should raise them. she had them for someone else to raise, and was paid for doing so. why would anyone expect her to want them back now?
  11. it is interesting. it's interesting that so many people have such huge emotional attachments to the idea that because this woman gave birth to these kids, she should fight to take them away from their grandmother and raise them on her own away from the family that they've always known. and that because she is actually acting in the best interest of the children by not dragging out a custody battle, she must not care about the kids. IMHO, the fact that she's letting them stay with gramma, per their "father's" wishes, not asking for money, and seeking counsel to help the children adjust t
  12. hopefully there are members here who have children that went to school with and know your daughter. you're in my thoughts.
  13. i'm wondering how many surrogate mothers would fight for the rights of the children they birthed if the adoptive parents met with a tradgedy. do those of you who think that she's a "money whore" feel the same way about surrogates who are compensated monetarily for the services they provide?
  14. what school does/did she attend?
  15. did no one bother to actually read the article? the stipulation is that they have to have a family member to take them in. funny how folks naturally ASSume that NYC is just shuttling homeless to Atlanta with the intention of dumping them on our streets. i'm just ashamed that there are people from here who've allowed a relative to be homeless in NYC.
  16. intentionally spelled with a C. much different place than the burger joint, which is not in the square.
  17. the square lost it's appeal for me when Crystal's closed down. we did go for 4th of July, but never actually entered the park itself. (surmising that the park is the central grassy area, and does not extend to the sidewalks across the street)
  18. remember when it took nearly a hundred posts to make the top of the list?
  19. the last hill i drove down was leaving your house. there wasn't anyone following me. i checked.
  20. perhaps to avoid breaking the speed limit?
