Murder, arson, burglary, obstruction...... Whew! Will this get us out of those pesky parent/teacher conferences???? -

Now that homeschooling has become more accessible, I suppose there is somewhat of a choice for a parent to not participate with the school system. I'm not sure that I would go so far as to pull my child out of public school because my spouse has a record, but it would make both he and I extremely uncomfortable to have the school officials privy to his past. Something that happened over 30 years ago has zero bearing on his ability to parent, or be involved in my daughters educational progress. Thankfully, Holly attends private school out if state, so it's a non issue. Should she decide to come -

It doesn't matter whether or not I 'mind' having a background check run. The 4th Amendment protects me from being subject to one without probable cause. Period. -
Perhaps they have 'family dinner' at home the other six nights a week with plenty of conversation? It's hard to get a feel for what anyone is 'normally' like from just 30 minutes of observation at a restaurant. MD and I rarely ever talk when we're out eating. Not that we're on our phones...quiet time is good for digestion. Especially if we've just climbed out of a noisy wrecker truck or off the loud ass bike.

POLLEN COUNT GOING BACK UP..............
NumberCruncher replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We spent the weekend over in Anniston. Tricia and I are both sneezy, snotty, and hacking. We thought it was from being camped next to a wood burning BBQ trailer for 18 hours...guess not! -
We shop at the Kroger on South Cobb at Concord rd. it's a new store and always clean. I've never needed fewer that 900 things, so the express lane antics mentioned above don't flag my radar. I'm hardly ever on a hurry at the grocery store.

I take that back. We have a big ziplock bag that gets used over and over for bread products, left over biscuits and rolls that we feed to the chickens. Nothing else ever goes in to that bag though.
-
We have dogs and chickens that get out leftover scraps. If there's enough leftover food that will make another meal, we take it up the hill to whichever dispatcher is on duty. We've gotten pretty good at cooking for two though. As for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste...we use it until its gone. I refuse to save used tin foil or ziplock bags.

Dgitw and I used to have disco Tuesdays when her office was across the hall from mine. I miss that.

I like going to them....just freaked out about having one. lol We decided not to do it this weekend anyway. She wants to go to Alabama with us instead.

I'm gonna check a few of the thrift stores here in Smyrna, as soon as this hellacious storm blows over. Ugh.

I've been out I've the baby business for 15 years.....apparently during that time something has happened with the manufacture of cribs. I can't seem to find a used drop side crib anywhere. Goodwill told me they aren't allowed to sell them anymore. What the hell??? I need an old used one for my chickens. Any ideas on where I can find a contraband crib?

oddly, i don't even miss the alcohol anymore. she's always been a non drinker. maybe we'll take up huffing sharpies? that could liven up even the worst yard sale!!!
-
I'm working on Friday, and MD and I are leaving for Alabama at noon on Saturday. I'm not actively participating in the yard sale....just taking my crap over there on Thursday evening and setting it out. I figure whatever folks wanna pay for it, they can. the money will go into the mutual pot. kind of the same thing as donating, right? only, my GF will be stuck with all the leftover crap. i'm willing to be bitched out over that....
-
I had a yard sale once. It was awful. Days spent dragging stuff out, setting it up, pricing it...only to have the scum of the earth come over and paw through it all and attempt to haggle over everything's worth. Ugh! Today I was talked into trying it again. After moving the past few weeks, I have several plastic tubs full of clothes, books, Xmas stuff, and total randomness that I've been meaning to take to goodwill. My girlfriend is having a yard sale at her house in Mableton. I'm supposed to take all of this crap to her tomorrow night. Do I hafta price stuff? Can I just put it all on

We are definitely seeing the effects of the full moon in Smyrna. Buncha lunatics out on the roads. Cops are out in full force, and keeping us busy!!!

The house on the corner will be giving out Jell-O shots on Saturday night... -
Sorry darlin. I got the house finished and thoroughly cleaned on Thursday, then promptly packed my bags and left for the compound. I should be back sometime on Sunday.

Looks like folks will have to come back to pcom for news
NumberCruncher replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've never been to a patch site. I rely solely on pcom to find out what's being built and why there are sirens or loud booms. -
Dangit! I wish I was home so you could come visit!!!

At home or in restaurants I drink unsweetened tea, and don't add artificial sweeteners. In the car or at a bar I drink diet coke or coke zero. I also smoke a pack a day. Something's gonna kill me anyway.
