  1. I'm a hard ass in this one. The law mandates that my kids *have*to be in school. Why should they have to sit around with alcoholics and addicts? Experimenting is one thing. Blatantly thumbing your nose at authority by using on school property *should* result in expulsion from said property for the junkie jackasses!!!!
  2. Oh honey. I hope you get a job soon.
  3. There's nothing cute or funny or excusable about minors in possession of drugs and or alcohol. Long term suspensions should be the least of the offenders worries. Drinking at school functions shows a special level of stupidity. I have no sympathy, at all. Wha????? The school should bear the burden of rehabilitating punk ass kids showing their asses with illegal activity in school grounds???? Nope. That's what jail is for.
  4. This is why marriage and child bearing shouldn't be entered into lightly.
  5. Gawd, I hope not!!!! The rain has me trapped in the house for the day. I need to vacuum and steam clean the carpets, but MD didnt go to bed until 7:30am, so I hafta be quiet for the next six hours or so. Ooh!!! And now I have thunder, which scared the crap outta me and the little doggies!!!!!!
  6. I don think I've heard any thunder....but then again, I slept through all of it last night. The ol man said it was horrible. Right now the rain is absolutely deafening.
  7. Holy crap, what a hell of a storm!!!! It's pouring here in Smyrna. The news is showing tornadic activity in the northern metro area, and warning of damage from straight line winds EVERYWHERE else. Y'all try to stay safe and dry.
  8. Thank you! I'm gonna try to leave it alone today. Hopefully I'll receive some sort of epiphany in the next 48 hours....lol
  9. Thank you darlin'! I heard once that they best way to make a near impossible decision is to flip a coin, cause as soon as its in the air, you'll know which side you want it to land on. I'm not quite there yet....
  10. I don't have much experience with hourly pay, however I do know how the system works. I hired exclusively through TRC Staffing when I was with Grubb & Ellis The agency does not get the same rate of pay that the employee receives. There's a percentage factored. I would pay TRC $15 an hour for an employee, and TRC would pay the employee $12. The placement contract was between the employer and the agency. At 90 days, if the employer chose to hire the employee, a fee was paid to TRC for the placement. In working with recruiters for salaried positions, the recruiter receives 15 - 20% of t
  11. I strongly suggest that you have someone review your résumé, and that you branch with your networking. I've sent you some names and numbers of recruiters. There are a million and five positions open that wouldn't even consider me because I don't have a degree, or any formal higher education. I'm working in a very limited market and getting results. Cast your net wider. Do a search on Indeed.com. Upload your résumé so you can apply directly online to the positions that are appropriate for you. Many of them are through recruiters, who can also provide you with many more leads.
  12. I'm still totally on the fence. There are pros and cons with both positions. Part of me feels like I'm gonna spend a lot if time 'proving myself' in casino us different aspects with job 1. I kind of already resent that. I also think that if I pass up the opportunity for change, I'll always be haunted with 'what ifs'. Ugh
  13. I don't think we are speaking the same language. I've never signed or been tested with a recruiter. There's nothing to cancel....perhaps it's different if your working with temporary assignments? I would suggest going the direct placement route. I'll pm you the numbers for my contacts at Robert Half, Accounttemps, Perfect Search and Staff Financial Group.
  14. I've never signed a contract and I'm currently working with four agencies. I'm also curious to know how the agency would know that you're pregnant? Unless its something you mention as a reason why you can't accept a position. Seems weird, but who am I to question? I've also never had to call into to let a recruiter know that I'm available. I give my resume, and they busy their asses to find me interviews. 20% commission in my first years salary ain't chump change. Bet your ass these folks want to find me a job!
  15. How can someone named Sparkles be such a heartless, violent, bitch??? Her momma definitely had different plans for her...
  16. I totally want an alternate screen name. But I have no idea what I want it to be, or what sort of personality I'd want to attach to it.....
  17. I'm extremely grateful that I've gotten the offers. I spent the entire month of December networking, submitting resumes, meeting with head hunters, and contemplating my reason for existing. Rejection sucks, even if its silent. I didn't have the slightest bit of interest shown in me until last Thursday. Hang in there. Keep applying or submitting resumes. Register with some employment agencies. Ask to have your resume review by a professional for feedback. I've got my fingers crossed that your dream job is just around the corner for you!
  18. My sense of family is very unconventional. That's part of the reason I'm having an issue with #1. It's a forced scenario amongst strangers. I like accounting because I don't have to deal with a team, or the general public. I can sit in my office in the corner and crunch my numbers an do my thing. When this opportunity first presented itself, two short days ago, I immediately though, hey...change of pace, new direction, wusai, and all that jazz. The wife is a stay at home mommy. She tends bar on Friday nights, but the babies go to their dads every weekend. My involvement with actual pa
  19. 2 is apartment complexes. They each have their own property manager on site, but I would be responsible for the actual books for all 14 properties. Challenging, but right up my alley!
  20. My first interview with the company was in Wednesday. I was in pins and needles, waiting to hear from them all day Thursday. I was so stoked about the opportunity. When I left the office today, I just KNEW I would be accepting the offer when it came via email later in the day. Then I got the call from the second company.... After leaving that interview, I questioned why I was even considering the first offer. I am NOT a shiny happy person.
  21. It's an investment fund that closed in July of last year. There's no buying or selling to be done. Just maintaining the properties and protecting the fund. All revenue is residual so there's no chasing the all mighty dollar. It really is a unique business model.
