I have lived here for 20 years and love the area, I grew up in Dekalb. I have seen the many changes that have happened to the area, some great some not. The schools in the area are good and there is a new elementary opening this school year. The district lines for schools in this area do not make sense but I guess the BOE thought that they did.

We are in the same boat, the upstairs unit went out. We were told it will cost 6K to replace because the refrigerant has changed so the whole system has to be replaced. Since we are also flat broke, we went and purchased window units for the upstairs $120 at wally world to hold us until we can save enough. I figured that we have until October or November when we have a need for heat to save.

The pier on Jax Beach is fun and you can fish from it and watch the surf boarders, the Landing in downtown- outdoor mall on the St. Johns. As far as restaurants, there are plenty. I like Chicago’s -deep dish pizza on the beach, Sneakers- on the beach, Nancy's - on the beach, there are Mudville's all over Jax. - wings, burgers etc. and one of the best seafood places is in Mayport- Singleton's. My mom and brother live in Jacksonville and they love it.

I have recieved one of these tickets also, it was not fun and we had to pay things late inorder to pay the ticket. Not to add to your problems but the next kicker for me was insurance. When the ticket showed up on my record my insurance went up an extra $50 a month because of the ticket. The insurance told me that because I was doing 24 over the speed limit that was the cause for such an increase, they also told me that if I was caught doing 20 over the speed limit there would not have been such an increase. The park and not the yards of the people who happen to live on Pine Valley or on Williams Lake Rd. Last year people that were invited to my house could not get out because people parked in the yard. Most people we caught but others we did not (because we were in the back by the pool). I even had a guy come running through my yard and when I asked him where he was going he said I have to pee, I am going to use your woods. I quickly told him no he was not and he had better leave or I would go grab the SO that was at the corner.

Taylor Farm Park, the band begins at 7 and fireworks when it gets dark. My suggestion is if you plan on going, get there early....traffic was a __________ last year.

Do you mean Taylor Farm Park off of Pine Valley? If so the fireworks at Taylor Farm are not until the Saturday after the fourth 7/11, if not where is the ballpark off of Brownsville?
