  1. I agree on the negativity thing. I am actually a very positive and happy person, and love my life. However, this is one area of life that is getting out of hand at times. I start off asking them to do something nicely, and then when it's not done, the next time I ask it's a little more harsh, and then by the 5th time, it's on. It's an all out screaming fest. The youngest is the best of the 3, but even just tonight, I gave him a list of things he was to do before leaving for the night. After he left, I went down the hall way to do another load of laundry, and pass by his room. All of
  2. Girl, I do love you and your bluntness, but THIS will NEVER work for me. My personality does not have it in me. I am willing to try some new things, but I know myself all too well, and there are some things I will never be able to do, and these are some of them. God knows there are times I wish I could, but it just ain't happening.
  3. When I say correctly, I am thinking more along the lines of not stuffing things under the bed and that sort of thing, and not meaning it has to be done perfect. I absolutely know it won't be done the way I would do it. And GREAT advice on giving them praise. I tend to forget that sometimes. My kids have always responded better when they are being told positive things and not one negative thing after another.
  4. I screwed up here too. The 14 yo took home-ec last year and learned how to do laundry. She was doing her own for a while, but she would either pile it in her room forever before doing it, or do a ton of very small loads and constantly had things in the washer and dryer. My water bill went up, and I got tired of watching the huge piles of dirty clothes build up in there. I found myself going in there and getting some her stuff to throw in with what I was washing, and she just finally stopped doing her own all together. Yepper. My fault again. Hey... at least I can admit my mistakes.
  5. Yep. She does know me so freakin well, and she ain't kidding about the 14 yo!
  6. All so very true. My kids are so totally opposite of me when it comes to being clean. They are so tired of hearing me scream and demand them to do things. I keep telling them, that I am just as tired of screaming as they are hearing me scream, and they can put a stop to it, by just doing what is asked of them. They NEVER do anything without being told, and even then, they have to be told multiple times to do it. Again, MY FAULT! We are ALL frustrated at this point. Last weekend, I went out and did my own thing Friday night, and then chose to cancel other plans to take advantage of
  7. Oh come on! NOW you want to be silent? Give it to me girl. I will still you. But you can say it in a nice way. PLEASE be nice!! I already know what you are thinking..... it's about damn time and all that stuff. Just give me some creative ideas. Or make a list and give it to me Sunday at our Hot tub Slumber Parties party! GREAT advice! THANK YOU!
  8. I absolutely have to make some changes in my household and the way things run around here. I have 3 kids in this house who are always standing here with their hands out, wanting money for everything. I am a single mom, getting very little to no help from their father, but that is another story. Not going there tonight. I have always been one to carry all responsibilities on my own. I do all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, floors, bathrooms, emptying the dishwasher and reloading...etc. TOTALLY MY FAULT, AND I AM TOTALLY PAYING FOR IT NOW. Fact is, I am a little on the OCD side,
  9. It is Paulding Meadows and there is a thread about it on the front page and a link to click on for all of the information.
  10. I know people don't usually think of Tractor Supply when it comes to clothes, but they have some great jeans at good prices also.
  11. Cpl. Gurley.... I drive past the trustees jail every morning. I see the inmates lined up at the gate, and being led to their work detail vans EVERY morning between 7am and 7:15am. Several vans of them in fact. I also see them out doing the clean up. I think the PCSO is doing an outstanding job. :clapping: Instead of blaming the county and the PCSO for the trash along our roadways, how about putting the blame where it really belongs. The residents of Paulding who think THEY have the right to throw THEIR trash on the County's roadways. PCSO can clean a roadway one day and move on
  12. Good Friday morning back at ya, but FYI.... today is 09/10. Today is the start of a fantastic weekend.
  13. ~ the female praying mantis bites the head off the male after mating ~ just one of those things that makes you go hhhmmmmm A pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes. I'd rather be a pig than a praying mantis!!"
  14. I know I have about a thousand weird things, but we won't get into all of them today. The one thing that I can think of right off hand, is the fact that my bed HAS to be made EVERY morning almost immediately. It drives me nuts to have to leave for work, and someone is sleeping in my bed and I can't make it up first. When that happens, I have to do it immediately when I get home. I REFUSE to climb into an unmade bed at night.
  15. 2 out of 3 of my kids do this. When they are in the back, and want me to turn the radio up, I make sure it's on an odd #, just to get under their skin. We end up having a volume war. Getting under my kids skin, is just one of the simple little pleasures I find in life. Payback honey!!
  16. Exactly. The windows in the dining and living rooms on that side of the house I could hang dark curtains, but they very high foyer window and the 2 small windows that run down the side of the door, were horrible. My house was 95 on the main floor during the day. It was unbearable. This is the first summer we have been in this house. I moved in the first of Feb, and the first few months the electric bill was always less than $100. I about croaked when the temps hit 100 and the bills starting reaching almost $500.
  17. If only we could convince Mother Nature to cooperate. Greystone is killing me. The past 3 months have been almost $500, and the thermostat is set on 80. The culprit was the front windows bringing in all the heat. The A/C could not keep it cooled off. Hopefully with the curtains and tinting I have put up, things will be better this month.
  18. I decided this morning I better turn the air back on because it will be back up in the 90s today. The last 3 days without it have been wonderful. I am sad to see them go, and can't wait for the cooler temps to come back. It would be nice to give the a/c and my power bill a rest.
  19. Terribly sad!! http://www.examiner.com/crime-in-atlanta/cedartown-teen-dies-from-injuries-sustained-a-four-wheeling-accident-driver-charged
  20. Eh.... maybe a little lighter, but not much. I buy the giant tub of cookie dough at sam's for $6+ so it won't break me, and the memories of things like this are awesome. Yesterday I made a chocolate chip cake to take to a bonfire cookout. I have to sprinkle confectioner's sugar on the top of it. I started sprinkling it on, and my 14 yo daughter asks if she can do it and help me. I moved, she reached in and got some in her hand, and then turned around and threw it at me. Then it was ON!! We had a powder sugar fight in the kitchen. Just the 2 of us, chasing each other through the h
  21. Well it's a good thing it doesn't do that to me!!! Just sayin...
  22. My daughter comes in with 2 friends, and asks me to make cookies. I put them in the oven and she calls her brother at the pool, and says "Mom's making cookies." Next thing I know, I have 10 teens here, and they have eaten 3 batches of sugar/chocolate chip cookies, and they told me I am the coolest!!
