Meeee toooo!!! It's been a while since I've been able to pick up 3rd grader, he's just over 4'10 and weighs 90lbs. But what he will still do is sit in my lap and watch cartoons. He gets a blanket, we get in the recliner and we just snuggle and watch tv for 30 minutes or so. Granted, my legs are asleep when he gets up and I can't walk for a few minutes, but I wouldn't tell him no for the world, because at 9 years old, even this will be over all too soon. I love my girls, but there's just something about my boy!!

I think thats exactly it. It's the 'who are you to tell me what to do' mentality. If an officer had been doing the same thing, I'll bet the actions of the truck would have entirely different.

Me neither!! I remember when this happened I and I thought Paulding county was a million miles away from Marietta where I lived at the time. I never thought I'd actually live 'so far' away. I don't think I'd even heard of it. It's a sad story. The first year we lived her in 1997, there were people walking up and down Dallas Acworth hwy near East Paulding drive on the anniversary date and I couldn't figure out why, I finally realized. We live off of Old Cartersville rd about a half mile from where the crash occurred.

I saw on the news at 6 that they had had 3 fires in 12 hours and had to close, but it wasn't too bad. Thats just weird to have 3 fires in 12 hours.

All things 3rd grader. A silhouette from 2nd grade, a picture of his last dental check up, papers graded with 100%, picture of his first day in preschool, and so on. Oh and a church key can opener.

In response to the topic about daylight savings time, I made a note on my calendar to change the clocks. I have been trying to figure out all day long why it says, 'Clocks forward zam'. Zam, WTH is 'zam'? Finally, I realized it says, 'Clocks forward 2am'. :wacko:

As a parent, the drug issue was WAAAAAY bigger than the idea of pregnancy. A baby is a baby, but drugs can and do kill you. Most don't become addicted to being pregnant, but do crack once and you're hooked. Thank God, that was never a problem with either of my girls. Now that they are both grown and married, I'm thankful for what I have...........no kids in jail, on drugs or dead.

That is horrible! There were family members that I was afraid to tell and I was shocked when they were all very understanding and compassionate. Hubbys brother made an extremely unkind comment when we told him and after the horrible fit I pitched, calling him every bad name in the book and breaking the phone because I threw it at the wall, Hubby was really mad, he doesn't get mad. This is a very easy going family, no angst between siblings to speak of, everyone gets along great, except for that day. Hubby went to his brothers house the next day and told him that he needed to call and apolo

Exactly! I'll help you until I'm exhausted if you're trying to help yourself. My daughter finished school and worked, while her boyfriend worked 70 hours a week and I kept the baby. If they wanted to do something, sweet baby went right along with them. There was no partying or hanging out while I stayed home and babysat. No, no! I think they were both too tired to want to do anything but come home to their child and go to sleep. They have been married almost 7 years now, with 2 more babies. Sure, I would have chosen a different path for her, but you have to play the hand you're deal
