I have two questions and would welcome your suggestions

I think MetroPCS has a blackberry (although, I heard they suck) As for original questions: 1) I use A Friendly Geek 2) I have used straight talk and LOVED them....I got the 30 month plan which was 1000 minutes, 1000 texts and some internet. The only reason I got rid of it was cause I went on a ATT plan w/ a friend so I could have my Iphone...I only pay $30 for it too.... You have to go buy the phone and then a card every month. -
Slowly raises hand to remembering the things made out of gum wrappers. We called them "chains"

Yep, I listed that earlier in the thread. And the "stinky stickers" Slam books ~ remember them? Paper and everyone had a page that they wrote their info on?
-
Oh...remember the shoe laces that had different designs on them (ice cream, clovers, etc) ~ I had all the pins, and we always wore them on our jean jackets... We used to put glue in the desks (where the pencils would go) and let it harden and make "fake nails"

I would probably be the first person in CPR class recieving CPR, if that happened to me

And, there is a kid in the back seat..

If someone posted this, I'm sorry, but, I don't want to read through all the topics. Fast, cheap way: take a bowl/paint pan/ whatever and put dish soap (no water) in the bottom. The fleas jump in, stick and die. Works like a charm

You should request to be sent to a Neurologist. You should also start making notes of his tics, how often, when the come/go (stressful situations) and how long he has them (before a new one takes it's place). These are all useful in the dx'ing process. He will have to undergo other testing as well, and it isn't a fast dx. It sounds like you are moving in the right direction. You know what is best for your child, and don't accept anything less. Know the teachers aren't miracle workers and you MUST explain and stay in touch with them (meaning, they can't do it on their own). The tea

Honestly, a Tourette's child USUALLY isn't much of a "hastle" in itself. My daughter would suppress alot of her tics, and would come home and "blow up" with them (I mean scream and stiffen up til she was soaking with sweat)...I too had to video this (and if anyone wants to see heartbreaking, this is it). It is "embarrassing" to the child cause everyone stares at them. Thankfully, we have finally found the right does of meds and she is fairly stable with her ticking. Mine, however, is also ADHD, requiring meds and the ADHD med that works on her (we've only found 2 thus far) is a Stimulate that

I guess I need to re-explain...I didn't mean to make it sound like they would go over THE test...they would go over the information that would be in the test. She is 11 (in Sept) and in 5th grade. She is a VERY smart child, but, just doesn't seem to "get" what is going on when it comes to school. The school has no "problem" with her, but, the problem lies with grades and understanding. She came home from school the other day without the proper book (English)...she brought home Math, cause she didn't know which book to bring:blink:. She lacks the "common sense" for lack of better words.

I bought my car when it was only a year old with 27k miles (it was a 2002 Suburban). It too was a rental/fleet car. I must say that it has been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I've owned it now for 7 years and it has 102k on it. I bought an extended warranty on it, because I worried about the "high" mileage, but, I never did use it. I've kept up regular maintaince on it and that is about it.

I am hoping that this year will be different, as one of my daughters teachers is a Autism specialist. It isn't the teachers fault, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. It is getting the "system" to offer HELP to the children. Last year, one of their ideas of "help" for my daughter on tests was to go over the test with her before hand, so she would pass it . REALLY????? How is that making her UNDERSTAND it...that's allowing her to pass, but not solving the PROBLEM of her knowing the information. I have had to stand tall and hard on the front-line, in my daughters behalf. I've

don't depend on the school system to help Have you been to Marcus? They haven't done much either, but, it's a start.

That was my fear based on how things were "happening" I hope we are wrong.

I came on looking for the same information~ Road is closed at Bone Circle. I could see what appeared to be a car that had gone off the opposite side of the road. Not sure if it hit the tree or not, but, I know the ambulance/rescue were there a long time. This happend in the curve just past Bone Cirle. The rescue/ambulance have been there for quite some time, which, gives me a uneasy feeling. I hope everyone is OK.

Nope~ and if more people would pay the extra money to get rid of this place, we might get something of decent quality in there. They sure aren't gonna "make" money, going the way they are going. I even offered to pay the man to give him a monthly schedule (4 day weeks) and pay in advance, a month at a time. Nothing. Even if he did change the rules, at this point, my children won't go to his program, as I REFUSE to support him, or his business. My kids, obviously, will be unable to attend chorus this year either, as I'm sure, many other parents will face. So, what will happen to t

Learning Bridge ASP is the suckiest of sucky programs:ph34r: I, as well as a co-worker, have had many issues with "Jim". He answers emails/phone calls when he wants (if at all). I have chosen to spend the extra money to have a daycare pick my THREE (yes, that's ALOT of money learning bridge is loosing) kids up after school. If school is closed Monday (holiday, school day, etc) I would have to pay for my child to be at Learning Bridge ASP AND in a private daycare! Jim is unwilling to work with you and has a "I could care less" attitude. I would LOVE to know what happens if you don't

Hmmm, interesting~ I found this, and guess this is why he is "required" to be embalmed: "Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, thus allowing family member´s time to arrange and participate in the type of service most meaningful to them" I must have misunderstood what they were saying I'll have to add that to my lists of "musts" when I die, to make sure I'm dead even if I wasn't:blink:
-
Oh, no...he's still alive (thankfully). My parents just chose to pre-plan/pre-pay their funerals so it was done the way they wanted it, and my sister and I wouldn't have that stress. I think its a good idea and would like to do it myself in the next few years.
-
Let me explain what I meant (sorry It was confusing). My parents live in NY, so, it will take me a while to get there (about 16 hours). So, if my dad died while I was there, he could be cremated w/out embalming. If he passed away and I was the 16 hours away, they couldn't "hold" his body until I made it up there without being embalmed. They said the body must be cremated within XX hours to not be embalmed (does that make sense?). IOW: death = embalming or cremation w/in ?? hours (obviously not for unfound bodies, but, for those needing burial/cremation services

I always buy a dollar store type basket and fill it up with "goodies" that they really need, that normally people don't get. I put in bottle brush, pacies (if I know what they are using), tylenol drops, motrin, baby bath/wash (all store brand), bottle holder, electrical covers, door handle locks, spoons, bowl, etc. My mom, sister and myself all went together and did one for my cousin in a laundry basket and it was about $25 each.
