VoicesInMyHead
Ok, my wife wanted me to go on her behalf (honest story!) and take a look around to see what they had. Personally, the selection o'stuff was pretty lacking and the prices on the items she was interested in were sky high. I mean REALLY, REALLY high. If they want to survive, they're going to have to reconsider their pricing.
shannonsolomon
Well that's good. The kids will have somewhere to hang out after seeing Harry Potter!

Sassy
I found the price on the item I bought to be really cheap. I guess it is up to the person and as far as the kids going in....They checked my ID as soon as I went in the door and it said something on the door about being 18 to entry. I'm glad its here. Saves me a ride and I can put my tax dollars back into Hiram. Edited November 19, 2010 by Sassy

Personally, the selection o'stuff was pretty lacking and the prices on the items she was interested in were sky high. I mean REALLY, REALLY high. If they want to survive, they're going to have to reconsider their pricing. Here's the thing about price. If the item is not for you, specifically, then it's "price". If the item IS for you, then you consider its VALUE relative to the price point. Next is "selection". A store that carries only the best doesn't have that wide of a selection, because -- why carry inferior merchandise? I would say that quality is more important when choosing specialized items like adult goods. Another consideration is time. Do you really want to spend time shopping for the best price for a single small-ticket item? How far would you have to drive and how much time would you have to invest to get this (or these) something(s) for your wife? Maybe the answer lies in how much you like to window shop and if you find VALUE in that.

Coppertop's Pop
I'm surprised "that" kind of store would come to Hiram. I suspect the elected officials aren't too happy about it, but I'm not sure what they could do to stop it. It's disgusting to me and won't be going there. Next thing you know, we'll have a Boomers style nightclub. Sick.
MrsB
Well my guess is, that very few men will remember that name. I have been noticing that store for weeks. The name of it is Gift Spot, but the sign looks like Gift Spot and I never caught on to what it meant. Until the other thread here, I really thought it was another little gift store for nick-nacks and such. I even felt sorry for whoever opened it 'cause I just knew it was going to close soon. Anyway, I am suprised it is open in Hiram. I didn't think I'd ever see that here. I'm surprised "that" kind of store would come to Hiram. LPPT
Romance products are very popular among adults. Brown bag and Slumber parties are more popular than you might think. The adult movie business is a thriving Internet business. As long as the outside is done in good taste why shouldn't the county collect the tax dollars. These products do not cause deviant sexual behavior nor do they encourage promiscuity or adultery. They are marketed to couples for the enhancement of intimacy.

Without visiting this particular establishment, how can you make a definitive statement like that? This has to do with "that" doesn't it? You know that the drug store sells some of these items, right? You know, the ones that have to do with "that"?

MarkPalm
I think it's more appropriate to promote sex with a retail outlet than it is to promote drinking with a bar. I think drinking is far worse than sex. If you practice safe sex and are discriminating with regard to choice of partner and activity you aren't likely to hurt yourself or anyone else. SEX: It's what's for dessert.

Tax dollars are tax dollars and this is a legitimate business, not some back room dive. If we weren't busy tonite, Hubby and I would be having a field trip. Can you qualify the "disgusting" part? LPPT
I would have to say that I would be more comfortable visiting this type of store if it is not in a red light district were the surrounding businesses and this one are not plastered with neon XXX and nude silhouettes where ever you look. That makes it a seedy experience that would ruin it for me. The slumber parties have always been fun and discreet.

Places like that don't typically stream porn on plasma tv's while you shop. It's a store, just like any other except they cater to your bedroom pleasures and dont sell to kids. bwilliams
It's disgusting because he said so. lol I thought this was a joke at first, honestly. With all the freak outs that went on before with a bigger name shop a couple of years ago, I never thought I'd see an adult store in Hiram. I guess it slipped under the radar. Can't wait to visit.
