  1. I didn't realize this was in Canada. I guess they are facing the same issues in regards to housing mentally Ill people.
  2. There are not enough mental health resources for folks that need it, and unfortunately they now end up in the corrections system when they should be in a more appropriate facility. The fed gov't has pushed them in to community based programs (due to a 1999 supreme court ruling). Many of the community based programs are crap. The slugs they employ are not properly trained and cannot provide appropriate care for these folks. Many hospital emergency departments have had to increase their mental health temporary capacities to accomate the folks, but they are put back out on the stree
  3. Seems legit. I'd send them all of your personal information. Might even add a credit card number just to be nice.
  4. I didn't realize Buick was still around.
  5. I was thinking the same thing.
  6. 6/(22-20)+21 = 24 22-20 = 2 6/2 = 3 21 + 3 = 24
  7. Seems a little fast for that road, considering the volume of sidewalk traffic. I guess I can get my stuff to the dump a little faster now. I would have preferred the speed on Harmony Grove between the new bridge and Dabbs Bridge be increased to 45.
  8. It is HIPAA, not HIPPA. I thought you might catch that when I responded with the same spelling but that was not the case.
  9. Sounds like you don't completely understand how HIPPA works.......
  10. I've found that the cheap tablets have crappy touchscreens and are annoying to use because they are not very responsive.
  11. I don't think it is a terrible idea, but I have been in delivery rooms when things with bad very quickly. Generally everything goes well and it would be really meaningful.
  12. You missed the point of a more effective solution. But, to address your comment, if ammunition was taxed at some high rate it would only create a black market and it would find its way in to the country much like drugs. The war on drugs does not seem very effective, so I can't imagine trying to eradicate ammunition would be much more effective. And again, murderers will find another means to carry out their plans. You need to take a step back and evaluate the actual issue and come up with a realistic solution. If you really want to save lives, make cancer illegal - that should
  13. More money needs to put in to mental heath. It used to be people were identified and put in a facility. Many of these facilities are now gone. There are just not enough resources to educate, identify and handle people with serious mental issues. We need to educate students, teachers, first responders, health care professionals, as well as the general public, about the warning signs and programs need to be in place to evaluate and house these individuals. "Gun control" had no bearing on 9/11, other than the terrorists found another way to kill - and murdered 2,977 innocent people. W
  14. I've got the S2 and have had it a while. I don't use a case or screen protector and have not had any issues. I drop it from time to time and am fairly tough on phones.
  15. Still looking for someone. I had a few regulars, but they ended up finding jobs. Even if you don't like me, we can still play tennis.
  16. Me indicating laziness to be the issue is far from a personal attack. When you post in a public forum you just might receive feedback you don't like. Crazy huh. Being called a bully, and idiot, etc (like in the posts above) would be personal attacks. Obviously I struck a nerve the angry lady's club of pcom.
  17. Good grief what? She's the one that said she is fighting with her husband over this issue. How is making a rational decision now saving the world? Obviously my point is if she wants to help, there are other, possibly better, ways to help without creating problems at home. Fairly simple concept. Anyone can take a dog in but it actually takes effort to go out and effect change.
  18. At the risk of injury and domestic issues? Making a responsible decision is the better answer. Hour for hour, I would image someone does more good volunteering towards spay & neuter programs than taking in dogs here and there. Focusing on the larger issue is a better way to solve the problem.
  19. Not at all. You have to separate the person from the act. The fact is someone took in a dog and is now giving it up...that sucks. Regardless of the person, it very unfortunate for the animal. Taking in a stray here and there does not fix the overall problem of neglected animals and irresponsible pet ownership. Sometimes we can do more good volunteering our time or opening our wallets. I'd be the crazy dog person you see on the news if I took in all of the strays that have shown up at my house, but instead, I drive them to animal control.
  20. Perhaps you should not be as aggressive on taking in animals. I certainly understand wanting to help them all out, but sometimes you have to make a decision that is good for you. You can't help them all. I'm a 'in it for the long haul' type person when it comes to dogs, so generally when I see someone giving one up, I consider it laziness. Sounds like your heart is in the right place. My comment was not intended to make you feel rotten, I just call it like I see it.
  21. Basically, you get what you pay for when it comes to nursing homes. I've been to many, many homes and very few are actually nice. It is more that some are better than others. When you walk in the front door, if the place smells like a urinary tract infection (or just urine), turn around. Also, many places hire the slugs that will work for the least amount of money. You really won't find many actual 'nurses' in many facilities, unless it is a higher end place. Ask about the breakdown of the training of the staff (RN, LPN, CNA, etc.). I'd also ask about the turnover of the staff and
  22. Sounds more like a case of laziness on your part.
  23. This is a case of the 'Ten Percent Rule'. My link
