  1. This would be my guess, too. In general, when a certain area is targeted repeatedly, it is someone who knows the area WELL. This whole situation reminds me of the Victoria Cove situation not too long ago.
  2. I listen to the scanner at work most of the time. This morning, I heard a deputy say she was in Mill Pointe subdivision, but I don't remember what her code was (and I recognize most of the regular ones.) I was busy, so I couldn't listen closely, but I remember thinking that they must be giving more attention to patrol. The call for the suspicious vehicle was this afternoon around 3pm. Solo's description of the person is exactly what they said. The vehicle was a faded red pickup truck with all of the letters on it gone except for "Y" & "O". I never heard any other reference t
  3. I came by right after it happened. The Deputy who was directing school traffic had to leave and drive up there (this was about 3:45, I think.) It appeared that 3 cars were involved in the northbound lanes, and one car was off the road on the opposite side (in the ditch before the bank) facing north as well. I'm not sure how that happened. It appeared that everyone involved was okay, though. My guess would be that the road had to be shut down for the wrecker to gain access to the car off the roadway.
  4. Just an FYI...that's what keeps me from listening here as opposed to scanpaulding.
  5. Stuff like that scares me. That's probably why I don't say much of anything to strangers. I once asked a lady when her baby was due (I expected an answer of a couple of weeks to a month - she was really showing.) She told me she wasn't pregnant - that she had a medical condition. Yeah, I ain't sayin' anything! PS - Hubby told me last night about a guy he saw at the KFC buffet. He said the man was wearing a wife beater shirt, his hands looked as though they had been soaked in dirty oil, and the shirt was almost black from where he had continuously wiped his hands on it. Hu
  6. Are you standing in front of my office? Thanks! They're great people!
  7. My idea is.....take me, take me, take me!!! Savannah & Charleston are two of my favorite cities, although I've only visited each a couple of times. I certainly don't have any suggestions - I just love to walk around the city. I read the Eugenia Price "Savannah" series years ago, and LOVED the books. I think I need to dig those out again! Have a blast, BB!
  8. I guess you don't know about ABC gum either, huh?
  9. Church at the Ridge is awesome, too. And I remembered another new small contemporary church - Full Turn Ministry. They are located behind the Dollar General in Yorkville.
  10. Here's another idea. We haven't been able to go yet, but I hear fantastic things about it, and it's close by! Historic Banning Mills
  11. Well, there's that. And I'm just a bit shy on the start-up cost, too.
  12. It seemed to go with the theme of the night. Oh, and I'm sure no pun was intended, right?
  13. ....a new airline? It will be a private business, and to purchase a ticket, passengers must understand that profiling WILL be used, and the airline itself determines who, what, when, where, or why searches take place. After all, it is a safety issue. If they don't agree, they don't fly with me. Their choice will be to fly a different airline. In a free market society, I think it could do well. What say you?
  14. Wow! So did you see the resemblance when that sketch first came out (after the Oklahoma City bombing)?
  15. I still think of you every night when the little one puts on his robe. He still loves it, by the way!
  16. BAN THE SILLY BANDS!!! IT'S A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY!!!
  17. West Ridge West Campus would be a good fit for what you're asking for. Lots of people that I know have started going to New Covenant (on Hiram Sudie Road just east of Bill Carruth Pkwy.) and have wonderful things to say about that church as well. Although I've never attended either church, Pastor Matt & GeorgiaTornado are two members whom I highly respect, and I feel they must be great reflections of their churches.
  18. IRRESPONSIBILITY will always be a detriment to public safety. Where will the "bans" stop? STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I think this is a perfect example of the need for EDUCATING the public as to the dangers. People make their OWN decisions based on their level/lack of education. Personal responsibility really is the best option here. (And in MOST cases.) I'm beginning to believe that our legislators have just run out of things to do. Seriously. So they just come up with this kind of stuff to keep themselves busy. God forbid that people teach their children, children grow to adults and follow Mom & Dad's advice (or not.) Life goes on. Good and bad things happen, and CONSEQUENCES happen whe
  20. Driving without a seatbelt is "unsafe", too. I always buckle up, and I have for over 20 years. I don't need the government to tell me to do so. I'm also a label reader. I take the responsibility to understand what I put inside my body. All people should do the same, but I'm certainly not going to lobby Congress for a bill to require all citizens to do so.
  21. Once again, the government doing what responsible people should do for themselves.
  22. Oh, don't even.... I'll put my suffering side by side to his anytime! Truly, I hate it for him, just because I know it's something all men dread. I love him so!
