I was wrong. I said gas prices would peak at Memorial Day. How wrong I was. I missed it by a month. Prices peaked in April. Gas prices keep dropping, just like I said My link. Isn't anyone happy to the point of talking about gas prices going down? Or only when it goes up? My link

Thank you for pointing out the issue. It is easier to demonize a group and play the politics than to understand the issue.

Judge allows East Paulding class president to attend graduation

I guess we can't just move along but want to dwell on things. -
Farmers say state laws aimed at illegal immigrants are costing them money because they can't get the crops harvested. The work is hard and requires workers who are experienced, something people who haven't worked the migrant worker circuit don't have the ability to be productive. My link

Judge allows East Paulding class president to attend graduation
zoocrew replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No. Because all students were treated the same. In this case, one student was given extra punishment for exercising his right to appeal. -
For the first time ever, the majority of births are now minorities, including black, Latino and Asian. That means that white America will be the older minority in the future. It also means English may not be the language of government in the future and one day there may be a need for English interpreters. My link

Judge allows East Paulding class president to attend graduation

The kid exercised his right to appeal. The school cannot add punishment because he exercised his rights. The school board was wrong and the judge ruled the school board was wrong. Whether the kid is spoiled or not is a matter of opinion. No doubt he is smart. Looks like some people have a bit of jealousy over the kid being smart and exercising his rights. Applaud him for standing up for himself. Sure, what he did was wrong, but that doesn't mean the school board can then break the rules during punishment. The kid won. He had the right to walk. The school board lost. The school board d- 87 replies

The CEO Confidence Index is up and CEOs expect higher revenue but lower profits. They also expect hiring to increase considerably. My link

In 21 of the last 22 months, retail sales have been up. For the last 12 months, retails sales are up 6.4% and 7.7% in the last quarter. People are spending money and feeling better about the economy. We have a long way to go but people are feeling better about things nationally and overall. My link

It's not frivolous. It is not about a Democrat or Republican. It's not about liberal or conservative or independent. It's about the Sheriff violating the civil liberties of American citizens. That's not frivolous.
-
Got it bookmarked. We'll see how well your legal training measures up in the end after the ruling.
-
However, the lawsuit is about the violation of the civil liberties of American citizens.
-
I have this bookmarked and we will see how the judge rules and will remind you of this. Please don't make this political and get it moved. Amazing how you can read minds.
-
Can't violate American citizens' rights in the process.
-
Because the TSA searches everyone. Arpaio focuses on those who are non-whites, especially those who look Latino. That means American citizens who look Latino are being singled out in an effort to find illegals.
-
Exactly. The lawsuit is about the sheriff violating citizens rights in order to find illegals. The former is what the lawsuit is about.
-
But the Sheriff may not violate the rights of American citizens in an effort to find those that are here illegally. That is the nature of the suit.
-
Or like making sure all American citizens are afforded the same legal rights as all others? Yeah. That.

Looks like gas prices are falling again. We paid $3.40 this morning when we filled up before going to brunch. Down 20 cents in a short period but no hollering with joy? Pain of the price going up is met with calls for politicians' heads but when it goes down, we say not a word? I'm glad it is down and according to the article, it will likely be down a while, just like I had said last month, barring something extraordinary. Anyway, we should all be glad gas is down so we can spend more in other areas and help the economy keep growing. My link

Gas is down more and expected to continue to decline as long as there are no fears about Iran or other conflict that will affect supply. My link

That doesn't mean a local sheriff can violate the civil liberties of people. The sheriff is not above the Constitution. I look forward to the resolution of this case against the Arpaio, either way, and we can get on with more important matters.

Has nothing to do with the local places but with the security breaches at the processing centers. We had links on that after it happened. My link

I see these people every day. Mostly women and fairly young who used the tanning bed. Now the cancer treatments. No matter how much information we put out there, these tanning beds are still being used and still harming people. Stop. Think. A few times on the tanning bed is like a years' smoking on the lungs. Don't. My link

The US Justice Department has sued AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio for his continue abuse of some people's civil liberties, even after being warned several months ago to stop harassing non-whites, and for not stopping alleged abuses of county inmates. My link
