  1. Good, then maybe the pre-teen / teen boys that emulate him will cut their hair too. I'm sure it's a tough style to keep - long and swept to the side - always getting in the eyes.
  2. Used to be called the Weinman Mineral Museum. Now it's called the Tellus Museum.
  3. I'm thinking that the Tellus Museum nearby could give you someone to examine it. They have a website with phone / address, etc.
  4. I could rave about how great they are, too.
  5. At the bottom of the article it mentions something about the Pumpkinvine Creek pump station being set up to create reuse water for the Cedarcrest area of Paulding. I live near there. So, I'm concerned and confused about what that is. Also what does it have to do with the reservoir. Where is the reservoir? I don't know where the creek is that it's referring to (different than Pumpkinvine).
  6. That's very true EXCEPT for when people hold up traffic to let someone into the roadway. Doing something kind but unexpected (because it doesn't follow the traffic rules) can be dangerous! Especially to the ones who aren't expecting to stop behind you so that you can do a noble against-the-law move.
  7. Yep, you're absolutely right. It's a different world, now. Seven Hills is a nice community, but stuff happens there, too. I remember when someone was robbed in their own driveway over there. Not safe for a young girl to wander ANYWHERE alone! Why don't parents care where their kids are, anyway? How can they not know? Pay attention people!
  8. In May, I won 52 $100. gift cards in the Publix Season's Peak recipe contest. Earlier we and our neighbors won $200. for a TV news contest on "Ways to Save." Now, I'm getting ready to pay all the hefty taxes - oh boy!
  9. I read some older info. from early last year that said the new library on Harmony Grove would open this Feb. Haven't heard anything more. ?
  10. I can definitely justify it simply for the fact that I keep my house about as clean as a model home and have 4 Collies and a foster dog. I don't sit around other than to look at the news, etc. online for a bit in the morning. Just isn't usually a bon-bon eating kind of day. Hubby works at home, so he sees the amt. of work that gets done. It's definitely not a tough life, but the car line is a nice "lunch break" for this "working" stay at home mom.
  11. It does seem ridiculous but I'm one to do it. It's my chance to relax for a bit - read, etc. I don't let the car run, though.
  12. The Weather Channel said this morning that it's not classified as a Winter Storm unless 2 or more inches of snow are forecasted. That's certainly not the case, here, so I'm not sure why the Alert Message calls it that. The Weather Channel online doesn't call for any precipitation and highs in the upper 40's today and tomorrow.
  13. Ahh - that must be it, then. Thought it was some kind of road construction.
  14. I hear the same thing about 5 o'clock in the morning very often, but I live near the Paulding / Bartow county line.
  15. I looked at the bags I have and ended up throwing a bunch away. Had some nice Trader Joes bags that appeared to be on the list. There were several others that appeared to be a thin fabric with plastic inserts in the bottom. Threw those away. Guess I'll just stick to the all-canvas / fabric ones, instead - the ones you can actually wash.
  16. We got a fence so our Collies can play (they're indoor dogs, though). The next door neighbor has a German Shepherd which I've seen jump his fence (which is separated from ours) and start trying to jump ours to get in the backyard! It's a dangerous dog, so to think that even 2 fences won't do the trick! Can't even be safe in our own backyard WITH a fence.
  17. That's right. I am amazed at how many projects our friend's high school daughter has. One after another, constantly. It threw me for a loop to learn that she had projects and homework assigned to do last Summer that had to be turned in to the new teachers at the beginning of this school year. She makes straight A's, but she gets stuck in her room doing non-stop homework.
  18. And today is our wedding anniversary of 18 yrs.
  19. The neatest thing I've seen is to take photos of the artwork. Then, go online to Snapfish or Shutterfly and create a book. You treat it just like a photo book. You can put several drawing photos on one page, or just one per page - however you want to lay it out. Very easy and quick to do online. We have endless reams of copy paper used as art paper, here. Art seems to get done before anything else. Just as I read your post, I was handed a diorama and asked where we could put it! You hate to throw anything away - they might think you don't like it!

    VENT

Yes, the curves on Dabbs Bridge are dangerous. If we're driving the speed limit on this road, coming around a curve, what are the chances that there could be a bicyclist around that curve? Always a possibility... and because they are going slower than the cars coming around that curve, they're going to get hit. Not only that, but people in the other lane going the other direction may come around a curve and get out of their lane. Again, they may get hit.
  21. NO, I wouldn't allow her to do it. I know someone who did and they removed way too many hairs - they never grew back! It can be a costly mistake!
  22. Such a beautiful post. Some couples really feel like they are soul mates. My grandfather was very much like him. When my grandmother passed away, I heard him say, "wait for me." Oh how he loved her!

    Forgiveness

I tend to think there must have been a valid reason for this. After all, firefighters are usually in this field because they DO care, want to be helpful, and save lives.
