  1. My doc said about 6 months is average for a healthy, young couple. If no luck in a year they would start intervention/testing, etc. I am sure every doctor has their own way they do things, but that is what my doc told me when I was first trying. I, also am in my mid twenties - got pregnant the second try with my daughter. Read up about ovulation testing, calendars, etc. It is super easy to keep up with. Try this: http://www.babycenter.com/ovulation-calculator
  2. I have a friend who took her grandson a while back. She said it was GREAT! SHe could not say enough positive thngs about it!
  3. I worked for a colon and rectal surgeon for over 4 years and saw a LOT of patients with diverticulitis. It has been my experience that taking nuts out of your diet isn't such a big deal. It is usually treated with antibiotics and it calms down within a few days. The rule of thumb at the doctor I worked for - if I remember correctly - was after 3 attacks in a year they would suggest surgery. They also suggest stating a fiber supplement. Hope that helps.
  4. I did! And my daughter wasa flipping and flopping all over the place!! The ultrasound tech said "What did you eat for lunch?? Is she always this active?!" lol
  5. My hubby uses a wire hanger and a pair of needle nose pliers. He has to clean ours out evry so often and always does it the same way. Good luck!
  6. I buy all of my daughter's clothes a season ahead. ie I buy her winter clothes in the summer and her summer clothes in the winter. She is always dressed nice and I usually never pay more than $2 for anything (unless I just love it!) and that it the most I do on clearance stuff! Some stores even do 50% off clearance from time to time. Also, pay attention to sale papers. I mostly use coupons for food and regular household items, but in looking through the sale papers you see deals on ALL kinds of stuff. If it an exceptionally good deal on something you know you'll use, buy 2, that way you d
  7. I keep seeing your posts -- where is this place?? Sounds delicious!
  8. He did actually come back, and I saw him go to several of my other neighbor's houses. I live near the front of my neighborhood and he literally drove in and out of my neighborhood about 7 times before he finally stopped here. There was no method to what he was doing. He drove past my house to 2 or 3 door down, then turned around and went 2 or 3 doors up, then turned around and went to the back of the neighborhood then we would leave the neighborhood and come back a few minuted later. It was bizarre. When he came back he brought the woman with him and my husband met them in the driveway and ask
  9. So just a few minutes ago a guy came to my door -- very similar story. (I HAD to answer the door bc I had my big door open and just the glass door closed and I was standing in front of it folding laundry...) He pulls up in front of my house in a kinda crappy looking old van with a woman in the passenger seat and someone else in the back seat. He gets out, comes to the door and tells me his name is Dominic from J&J Enterprises and they are "starting a new office in the area" - he never specified what kind of business or what they were selling. He hands me a can of Glade air freshener and
  10. I read this and now I am totally creeped out! BUT, like you, I also keep a gun in the house and my husband has given me plenty of training on how to use it in the event of an emergency. And, also like you, I would NOT hesitate to use it, especially if my daughter was home with me! It is dangerous to be the victim in a situation like that, but people don't realize how dangerous it is to be the attacker. Why would you chance getting killed just to POSSIBLY grab some cash or jewelry??
  11. O wow! I just realized the other day that all those houses are empty and for sale now. I guess I just hadn't paid any attention in a while. Not near my mom though, thank goodness! Thanks for the info.
  12. We also learned the hard way to keep a fire extinguisher in the house - my mom's fireplace mantle caught on fire on Christmas night after she went to bed! She bought one for my house shortly after that! Thank goodness for smoke alarms! You are so blessed that you caught it early!
  13. Where at on Bobo?? My mom lives on Bobo.
  14. A friend of mine told me about a place called Victory Christian Academy. I don't personally know anyone who has children there. It is on Mulberry Rock Road. I tried to look it up and there wasn't a website, but I did find a few stats. No more than 7 children in any grade. Hope this helps.
  15. Not quite the same thing, and I don't kow many details, but the Dallas Theater is doing a couple of Haunted Theater tours Halloween weekend.
  16. I have not personally seen any of them, but have worked in the medical field for years: I have heard over and over that Busbee and Phillips are both good.
  17. This is a great idea!! Her bday is actually AFTER christmas, but just before Valentine's Day -- and my mom is a photographer! Maybe I could do a Valentine craft too. All of the other kids are at least a year older than her, so I think pictures and a craft would be manageable. Thanks for the ideas!
  18. Mostly I just don't want them all in my house. There isn't much room, not enough for all of our family and a few friends with their kids. Plus, I have white carpet -- I don't want 10 kids running around my house with birthday cake, we don't wear shoes in the house and the kids would be running in and out, the front isn't fenced in and I don't let kids (any age) play alone in the back yard because I have a pool. I also would rather spend the extra money on my child - which is the reason I am looking for something affordable - but doing it at home just isn't much of an option for us unless I giv
  19. Rediculous that our tax dollars have to pay for our public safety workers to spend all afternoon on some crackhead rather than keeping patrol in our neighborhoods and looking out for ALL of the other innocent people of our community... now he goes to jail where our tax dollars will continue to support him. I'm with whoever suggested the paint ball gun!
  20. That's am idea. I mean, it will be cold, but the parents will be fine if the kids are playing. And we could eat inside. I will have to look in to that!
  21. I thought about McDonald's, but I am kind of a weird-o, I guess. It's so gross in there! lol. I have taken my daughter a few times and there are always bigger kids running her over. I guess people think that place is just a babysitter and they don't have to watch their kids when they are in there?? It just upsets me every time we go because the bigger kids (by bigger, I mean 8, 9, 10 years old) run my kid over and she always ends up getting hurt! I was trying to avoid home, but that might be the way to go. I could decorate the garage and keep the doors closed so they would have some space to r
  22. My daughter will be 2 this winter. It's a little early, but I am thinking of places to do her birthday. I looked into Jump4Joey, which she LOOOVES, but it's a little more expensive than I would like. I also looked into Sparkles, but their play area is mostly for ages 3 and up. And it will be too cold to do anything outside. Any ideas?
