  1. South 41 - Rome 34 with 7:41 left in the 4th
  2. North up 28-14 (EDIT - actually was 27-13 North wins). Rome 35-South 34 with time left in the 4th Anyone know the Hiram-Paulding score?
  3. East QB injured in first quarter - left shoulder. East struggling and North has all the momentum.
  4. Issues went both ways...you saw some EP facebook postings - there were plenty of NP facebook postings as well. I witnessed the North student section placing themselves right behind EP's players bench & yelling inappropriate things at the players.....and directly following the buzzer, some North students threw trash at the EP players (wadded up paper and at least one Coke can - which one of the players caught before it hit him in the face). Thankfully the administrators jumped right on it and immediately directed North's entire student section out the door. Obviously if the situat
  5. He was the quarterback/punter/kicker in high school at East Paulding - but has only been the punter/kicker at Florida. He's been the starting punter at FL since his freshman year, but has had to step in for field goal duties this season due to the field goal kicker being injured. (At one point last season, he was listed as the 3rd string quarterback for Florida, which was pretty cool, but he never made it in a game at that position....) Great kid, great family - a wonderful representative of Paulding County.
  6. Pretty much no one cares about the "intercounty cup" except the team that receives the check from the county. It's all about who makes it to GHSA playoffs and how far they make it. Kell should make it out of our region with at least one other team from region 5-North - could be either North, East, or Hiram - there's still a lot of the season left. The ultimate goal for a high school team - good or bad - is to make it as far as possible into the state playoffs. It's not a contest to see which high school can sign the most kids to play football in college. I'm not saying this is how it
  7. Yep, sorry - you're right - Hiram is AT North. Good luck to both.
  8. Who in the heck ever said entire teams are supposed to "take a knee" every time a player takes a hit and lays for a bit on the ground? The three players who stayed down for a bit (two North players & one East) were all moving their body parts & ended up limping off the field - no one was carried off. None of the hits were scary/serious to where you would think a neck/spine injury might even be a remote possibility. The North mamas screeching for the East's entire team to take a knee each time were on crack! This isn't youth soccer - good grief! The East players were standing qu
  9. North seemed to implode the further they got behind......numerous personal fouls & facemasking, players ejected at the end, cheap shots & verbal altercations with the refs, coaches receiving penalties, etc.. Obvious frustration, but the lack of discipline surprised me. Pre-game scratching and kicking at the Raider shield on the field didn't help North's rep either....
  10. Just saw it on Fox 5 - very cool! Kamani had a great night - East's offense and defense were awesome! Congrats to East Paulding Raiders!
  11. Ummm.....he didn't "threaten Facebook" - he posted something regarding North Paulding ON Facebook. Big difference.....
  12. Absolutely loved the bakery! Bought a coconut cupcake - absolutely the best coconut baked good I have ever had! The chocolate chess pie also was DELICIOUS! The bakery will be a wonderful addition to the community.
  13. Congrats to Paulding and Hiram! Final East score was 38-21 Cherokee.
  14. Congrats PC - really happy for you all!
  15. Daughter said there was a picture on a computer screen (computer lab, I'm guessing??) of an emo-looking person with blood running down his face holding a bomb with the word "boom" appearing. just lovely......
  16. Thanks - I was wondering as well. Different sort of service. Loved the standing ovation after the grandmother's remarks.
