I served as a juror on several of the condemnation cases when they widened 278, eminent domain was an issue for more than one person in the jury pool. With the state of the real estate market and property values at an all time low, I guess the additional court costs should be considered in the overall cost of this project. So are you saying uncollected sales tax revenue that will be collected and will be enough to pay for this project?? And the reservoir, it's been approved by the tax payers for years. Rumor has it paperwork was not properly filed, so how are we going to pay for that

Oh my gosh!! Praying everyone is safe.

It's moving fast, already slowing down in Yorkville. Hopefully it will blow through quickly.

Big wind, heavy rain here in Yorkville for the last 10 minutes or so. Hopefully the worst will be over before the kiddos have to leave for school. Be careful and stay dry everyone!!

It's in my knees. Man those stairs are a monster.

Public transportation of some sort, but privately owned.

I'm not sure exactly what loveapet is referring to but I have, on numerous occasions interviewed people that had absolutely nothing good to say about previous employers. If you left on bad terms, be honest and say so - politely give your side without dogging the other business. Don't tell your prospective employer how "bad" the other company was.

See Pubby, that's the problem - no one looks at the long term effects. If the government were subsidizing another stucco company, I could get mad or I could look to them to earn some $. I can walk away or I can turn profits with their help. I might could even find a market that would afford me the same opportunity that stucco company received. Now what would happen to Atlanta if Delta goes away?? Not maybe, not hypothetically...........nothing is guaranteed. Do you think those other airlines would be happy if they disappeared into another market?? I believe there would be lots of p

What was that Just Thinkin Hard said the other day?? Something about an idiot. :drinks:

Let's see, what is Chicago's largest airport?? Didn't they just lose one of their major airlines because of a merge?? If you make Delta angry, there are going to be a lot more people out of work. I'm just saying. I'm sure Southwest/Airtran would welcome the absence of Delta. I believe they already have their own workforce.

Good morning, it's always so nice to see you up and about, giving us words of encouragement every day. Thanks luvtennis5. I hope you have a wonderful day.

OK I have a question. If Sam cannot get the necessary funds to continue and another ambulance company is called in, do you think it will be for free? Won't we have to pay them some supplemental fees to run the ambulances for the county?? Wonder how much that will cost us?? If that cost is inevitable, why can't they just do an emergency supplement to keep the company that has serviced us well for so many years?? When this contract has ended, we can then put it out for bid.........but keep in mind the lowest bid is not always the best deal.

Whishing you and Pubby only the best, we'll be waiting in the wings.

Denise, praying hard for you and Phillip. My mom's doctor thought my mom had the same thing, her platelets are still high and she has undergone every test possible including the bone marrow. So far it's not showing up anywhere. Her doctor was convinced it was multiple myeloma but it's not. During all of this her doctor told her while the disease is not curable, it is very manageable. I hope they caught it early enough to keep the meds easy enough for him to tolerate. Good luck and please keep us posted on you and him. ((hugs))

That's hysterical. We've always called them whop biscuits.

I'm here on IE, not sure I want to use the unblock feature as it will let all bad stuff in. I sure miss automatic spell check. Been a long time since I used IE.

HWAM, you are such a good person. Thank you for being there when someone needed you, I don't think things like this happen randomly. God bless you and sending prayers for the family involved. ((hugs))

I'm tapped out, if I could get the money back from the other ambulance company I helped out I could help Sam. I've got nothing left.

Boo-hoods!! I love it!!!

Great minds.

I think I'm glad my mortgage company is in Florida. My interest rate is a little higher than most but it would cost more in closing to refinance at this point in the game. Hopefully my mortgage will be paid in full in 5 years. I'm scared and hoping I can continue to hold on a little longer.
