  1. Ahhh, Jack Reacher you are soooo right. The entrance exam has only served as a tool of corruption in that city for years. If they want you on the force, you pass the exam - if they don't you fail it. Thow it out, it's a waste of time and money. They'll weed them out with the polygraph test that is required. Anyone that thinks Paulding County is a good ole boy system needs to spend some time in the Chicago political arena. They just call it "clout" instead.
  2. We have lived in this house for 16 years, never had a problem with any of the stucco. In fact it is the "Fake" stucco. It is 22 degrees outside, the sun is shining and I don't even have the heat on. It's a toasty 69 degrees in the house right now. But the fact is we know the installers and we know we got a great job with proper flashings and sealants. Seriously, I wouldn't want any other type of home. I've had several people say to me it's like putting your house in a styrofoam cooler. A good example would be those stryofoam cups you get drinks in at the quick shop. They don'
  3. It was secondhandsmith!! He got a lifetime membership. It was post #215 in this thread http://paulding.com/forum/index.php?/topic/233722-be-the-3000000-th-post-and/page__pid__3037043__st__240entry3037043 Pubby's announcment is post #263
  4. I have two of the Big Buddy Heaters. I love, love, love them but I would never sleep with them. They are very similar to the unvented wall heaters but they are not designed to be used if you can't watch them.
  5. Thank goodness!! That was fast!!! Y'all are too funny
  6. Very close now, last I checked it was only about 20 to go!!
  7. I have no idea even what they are counting, but it's definitely not down............y'all are cracking me up!!!
  8. Them folks over in Scarlett's thread can't count..............they are a little confused I think.
  9. Getting closer, last I checked we only needed 98............
  10. I believe it should be 115, that's the post count in this thread!!
  11. Well, I didn't do all that math. On the home page for the forums it gives the number of posts in the last 24 hours, I was going by that. So.........I guess the board is showing bad numbers. Sorry!! Didn't mean to imply it wasn't an active site. ETA, right now it's saying there were 167 posts in the last 24 hours.
  12. I make chicken broth by boiling some chicken and adding salt, pepper, a little garlic powder and a little poultry seasoning or sage. Chicken with the bone still in has the most flavor, I take the chicken out and let it cool. Before I take it off the bone and put it back in, I use the recipe on the box of Bisquick. The secret is not to stir them, just let them cook. It looks like they are going to come out of the pot but they won't unless you have it very full of the broth. I drop by rounded teaspoon fulls, I think the box says tablespoons. 10 minutes uncovered, then ten minutes covered.
  13. LOL that was funny Chindog. My favorite is cheese broccoli, followed by potato, then vegetable. I also like french onion with the bread in it and the provolone cheese on top, stuck in the broiler of a minute or two.
  14. Are you saying you want to do a show for a Blue and Gold Banquet?? You realize Scouts have no $ don't you. 1novella is on here begging for donations. A Scout is thrifty!! Why is it I always seem to end up volunteering for organizations that stay on the verge of broke???
  15. You know we could find you a brand new one somewhere don't you. So would you like to be a Tiger or Webelos leader??? You have to work your way up to Boy Scouts. MrsJackRussells hubby is the one from 321 I mentioned earlier. He's one that was with the West Cobb group. He was actually the SPL of the course director I worked on WB 92-56 with. Great guy, MrsJR isn't so bad herself.
  16. Well the site has been averaging about 120-150 posts per day so I say if we put some effort in to it, it will be tomorrow evening.
  17. LOL Me either, some are close to that but not quite there yet. Russell Turner in Sweetwater District has been Scouting for over 50 consecutive years. I can give you Mr. Hicks' phone number if you'd like to call him and see if he can get in touch with Mr. Turner. Someone might have to go get him. I think Mr. Hicks may actually be 20+ years in Scouting as well.
  18. An optional side table might be interesting.
  19. No hubby grew up in Alabama, not an official Scout, 8 kids kind of eliminated extra activities. My dad was in the 50's, he actually worked summer camp for a couple of summers . He lived in West Virginia, he ain't from around these parts.
