  1. Seriously, some of you decide to look at news and the weather forecast when you get bored? A lot of the websites listed in this thread appear to be websites that people visit often, not necessarily because they are bored.

When I am bored and the social networking sites are slow, I can spend hours on YouTube (thanks to the "Related Videos" feature.)

Or I'll watch clips and episodes of TV shows on Hulu.

I am intrigued by GoreGasm, DallasRed. I'll probably laugh at every $20 bill I see for the next few days, at least.

  2. NASCAR Won't Make Changes at Talladega After Crash

Selections from the Associated Press article

Despite injuries to fans from flying debris, NASCAR's satisfied with its safety standards, saying the fence at Talladega Superspeedway did what it was supposed to do — keep Carl Edwards' car out of the grandstands.

NASCAR had no immediate solutions as to how to prevent future similar accidents but will evaluate the fence height surrounding the race track and beef up its policing of aggressive driving and blocking, when one car deliberately moves into the path of a competing car trying to pass it.

Edwards, grateful the fence held, warned that restrictor-plate racing can kill someone. "I don't know if I could live with myself if I ended up in the grandstands," Edwards said. "We'll race like this until we kill somebody, then (NASCAR) will change it."

Earnhardt Jr. said "For years, we've had wrecks like this every time we've come to Talladega. Ever since the plate got here. And for years it was celebrated. The media celebrated it, the networks celebrated it, calling it 'The Big One,' just trying to attract attention. So there's a responsibility with the media and the networks and the sanctioning body itself to come to their senses a little bit."

  3. 136.36363636363636363636363636364 is obviously one of the repeating numbers that could go on and on repeating 3636363636 ... for ever.

It is a factor of 300,000 divided by 2200 which, in the context of what? relates to 3 million.

I'll add in the calculation suggests something may occur on or about Sunday, Sept. 13th, 2009.

I wonder if LR has a notion of what that might be?

I'm still puzzed about what 300,000 and 2200 have to do with it.

  4. I think Adam should win American Idol and Susan might just win Brittain's Got Talent due to the viral video of her performance taking the world by storm. Paul Potts was just as much of a shocker as Susan a few years ago but did not receive much attention at all! However, Shaheen Jafargholi will give Susan a run for her money.

Oh, you wanted opinions on your job situation. I agree with what others have said. If you can bring in enough money staying home with other parents' babies so you can spend more time with yours, do it!

  5. I saw a furry dog today, perhaps a Samoyed, roaming the street in South-East Paulding wearing a blue harness and draging a length of metal cable. Apparently the dog was tied to a post or something outside and managed to get loose. He barked at me so I didn't attempt to get any closer.

  6. So, you want more people to open your thread and read what you have to say?

Some people will.... just use a sentence fragment in the topic title.

Some -*~*! people use special characters to catch your eye.

Others will use a topic title that makes sense and grabs people's attention.

However, the key to getting more views is getting one of these icons.... f_closed.gif

Yup, no matter what the topic title says, more people will open a closed thread just to see what was going on.

  7. I'll post this again here since the thread I attempted to post in the Premium business reviews forum got lost in cyberspace.

Last week I drove to another P'com member's house. He commented that I keep my car in very good condition and went on to ask what products I use. I told him that the car had been cleaned by Riley's Auto Detailing a few days before, and he agreed with me that they did an excellent job. The car certainly does not look 13 years old with just a few miles short of 200,000 on the odometer.

Indeed, I was quite impressed when Marc and Lisa returned the car to my house. The exterior was clean and shiny with no more tar and other road grime on the bumpers and sides of the car behind the wheels. Every bit of the interior looked and smelled like new, from the dash to the carpet. I definately got my money's worth, and feel like I got a super great deal for the price.

  8. He took the lead for the last lap and almost won and would have done a backflip after climbing out of the car, but ended up flipping the car instead just before crossing the finish line. It is amazing that he was able to climb out and sprint across the finish line.

  9. I think it was just in people's heads anyway. People were scared to go out and spend money causing businesses to see less sales causing people to get laid off. But then some of the previous spending was done on debt using money people didn't have anyway, and now their line of credit has been taken away.

  10. Yes I know. But Brad kept saying Carl came down on him. He obviously went up on Carl.

Actually, watching the replay from various angles, it looks apparent that Carl turned down into Brad while attempting to block him.

  11. Hubby is on his way back from the race. He and DS had a blast. Even though he liked going, I think he likes it better watching at home where he can see the replays.

Me too. It is neat to be there, but it is a lot easier to keep up with what's going on by watching it on TV.
