  1. Several years ago I had a coupon for a free oil change at Tires Plus. They were kind enough to show me that the left-side motor mounts needed to be replaced, costing about $300. Well the truck was still under warranty so I took it to Thornton Chevrolet. The cost of replacing both left- and right-side motor mounts at the dealership was only about $100, but cost me nothing due to the warranty.

They lure you in with cheap or free specials and "find" problems with your car that is their real money-maker.

  2. I thin k her entire woredrobe is evolving into pink. Has anyone seen her nails? She even painted the walls in her house pink. Her pink phone matches everything else.

She'll be busy making tutus all day, so she may not deny this for a while.... ;)

  3. I love my soap but I do have one problem. Which scent to use first??? I got Honeysuckle and Twisted Clean and both of them smell so good that it's hard to decide.

I couldn't decide either, so now I have two bars of soap in my shower. Now I decide which soap I want to use every time I shower. :)

  4. I have been using Firefox as a secondary browser (to Opera) for years. I just fired up Firefox for the first time since I installed the latest upgrade a few days ago, and discovered that all of my bookmarks are gone. This is the first time this has happened.

Oh well, I didn't have many bookmarks. Just the few sites that didn't work well in Opera.

  5. I did that yesterday to a 45% lambswool sweater. It doesn't appear to have shrunk, however it shed a lot. There were a ton of fibers in the lint filter and all over the other clothes.

  6. Maybe I've seen to much, but you couldn't pay me to live in a freaking apartment complex. The housing market will turn around, you build equity and most mortgages (especially now) are about the same as rent.

Buying a house rather than renting one is generally better economics. However, there is more to look at than just the monthly payments and the building of equity. You still have to pay all the utilities, furnish the residence, do all the maintenance, and all the yard work.

In LGM's circumstance, she will be too busy with work, school and being a mommy to deal with house maintenance and yard work. Also, I think this move will be relatively short-term, so buying a house and having to sell it in a couple of years would be too much trouble. She could probably save some money being someone's housemate, but she'd need plenty of room for her little angel's toys and all her crafty work as well. I think an apartment would be best.

So, the dilemma is getting an apartment in Kennesaw that would be close to work and school, or getting one in Dallas/Hiram and being close to family and friends, right? You'll be making the drive either way, so just decide which drive you'd rather make daily and which drive would be better at certain times of the day. However, if you move out of Paulding, you'll be one of "the outsiders" who post on Pcom.

  7. Stopped at Highland Package Store to pick up some Sam Adams Winter Lager and wanted to try something new. Went with Beamish Stout, pretty good stuff. Just a PSA.

Yum, I like the winter brews from various breweries, including Sam Adams. My favorite present last year was a six-pack of Sweetwater Festive Ale. I'll have to try the Beamish Stout, sounds like something I would like.

I'd like to find some Pale Moon. I bought a multipack containing Blue Moon, Full Moon and Pale Moon. The Pale Moon is really good, but I haven't seen it packaged by itself. I may have to go back to that big store in Kennesaw.

Barrett Pkwy - right behind Chuck-E-Cheese. Don't freak out. I took Dxh there once and when we walked in the door he glanced down at the wine prices and went :o :o :o . Not all of it's like that, and they have a killer beer selection over on the far left. It's the size of a Bed, Bath, and Beyond (it's actually in the old BB&B).

Hmm, that's the location of the store I went to almost a month ago, but I believe it was called American something...
