  1. I rarely used my home phone and didn't see any sense in paying for the ability for telemarketers to call. I heard about magicJack from Clark Howard and decided to buy it and cancel the home phone. If you use the phone often, you will be disappointed with magicJack because the call quality is inconsistent. Sometimes you couldn't tell a difference, sometimes the quality is low like a bad cell phone connection. I feel it works well for me because I rarely use it, and don't mind paying $20 a year instead of hundreds of dollars a year for an unneeded landline.

This year, Clark Howard has been talking about another VoIP product, ooma. You buy the device for $250 or less, and there is nothing else to pay for ever again (as long as ooma is in business.) Clark uses this at his home and beach house.

Additionally, T-Mobile @Home appears to be a good deal, compared to the traditional landline from the phone company.

  2. If you live in a neighborhood, you could get a discount from a company that already serves your neighborhood. It will be helpful to know what your neighbors are paying. When I switched companies, I decided to go with the company that most of my neighborhood uses. When they quoted me a price higher than what I knew my neighbors where paying, they agreed to give me the lower price.

  3. Hmm, I'm not quite convinced. Now if you were to tackle someone's honey-do list, then perhaps I'd believe that you don't need a man to do anything for you. Heck, maybe you'll be the first person to complete a honey-do list.

  4. by the way, even though I now have a real full HTML browser on my "phone", I still like using the P'com Lo-Fi Version. Without the mess of embedded tables and Flash overload, the pages load much faster.

What cellular service do you use? Are you accessing P'com directly or through your service provider's "enhanced" browsing feature? Perhaps you are getting a cached version of websites through your provider.

  5. What exactly do you mean by "same old old stuff"? Specifically, what kind of web access does your phone have? Does it use a full HTML browser or a mobile web version?

  6. I bet the Adam fans thought he had it in the bag so they didn't feel the need to call in and vote.

I have a friend who votes repeatedly for him every week. Her constant talk about Adam and playing his songs even made me turn on AI last night when she wasn't even here.

I read an interview with Simon in TV Guide that came in the mail today. He puts Danny and Adam at 55/45 odds to win, respectively.
