  1. I have read that book. And it was right. I started making friends just to see the ramifications take shape. But, I decided I didn't need that many friends. I just wanted to have a few good friends. It's true that you can catch more flies with a teaspoon of sugar than you can with a barrel of gall. But, I decided that flies were more trouble than they were worth. What did you learn from the book?
  2. Thanks for your reply, N i N H! But, I like the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I like for people to speak their mind. I can learn more about a person is an hour if they are speaking their actual mind. It takes a much longer time to learn them after they have covered up some of their real attitude.
  3. I don't want you to do that, Pastor! I like for you to be as wide open as a case knife when you talk to me. I can't learn everything from being in the dark about some things.
  4. What is very obvious is the bonuses that were paid with bail out money, as we tried to keep failure from recking our economy. These unions needs to fall, but they are to big to fail. That would rule our lives, by default, if they had fallen. I don't even like bailing them out.
  5. As many as my heart desires, Mrs. O! Do you have a problem with that? I tell the people I work for what I require, Pastor! But, I also listen to what they require. Then I make my decision as to whether I will work for them, or not.
  6. According to some belief's, jc, we will all wake up after we die, and some of us are not going to like what we wake up to. That will, indeed, be a surprise. I don't anticipate waking up after I am dead. It doesn't seem like reality. I have to see things before I will believe them, and then I don't believe everything I see.
  7. Thanks, G D, for your reply! I was thinking you had me on ignore, for a while. What is it like to not be able to hear the ugly words? I want to hear it all. I don't even like to not know what Spanish speaking people are saying. I guess that's my fault, though, for not learning their language.
  8. Consensus is a great thing, but what do we learn from consensus? When we are in college, is it consensus that teaches us what we need to know in order to get a degree, or does debate achieve that goal for us? I think both of these traits are important. But, I am a firm believer that we learn more from Debate. It's kind of like adversity. We learn more from adversity than we learn from privilege. I think whatever doesn't kill you makes you smarter.
  9. Johnny is a very good person, LR! He can certainly help his fellow citizens with his attitude. You are a very helpful person, also, LR! Sometimes MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) is important, though! Drunk drivers have to be more alert to how much alcohol they consume before they get behind the wheel of a vehicle. I prefer GLAD, when I am in the presence of two such wonderful people, however, as you and Johnny!
  10. So you don't mind peeing in a jar for someone, while you know you don't do illegal drugs? Just curious. Suppose a person wants to keep his job, but peeing in a jar is not his idea of what part of his job should be?
  11. So it's okay if we have our employer take a random drug test if we suspect he/she is under the influence while directing our activities? You hit the nail on the head in your second paragraph. I have nothing to add. I think collective bargaining associated with the Corporate chain of command (union) is a necessary thing, just like collective bargaining is for the other side of the coin. Union dues are just paid differently in a chain of command (union).
  12. Are you a moderator? What do you mean by the word, Pastor, in your screen name? Just curious?
  13. Why then is forcing people to stick with the chain of command (union) not doing any harm to an individual who wishes to negotiate. It seems to me that the chain of command it saying that an individual either gets with the program of in not a chain of command (union) member. Under performing employers may take advantage of an individual who had no leg to stand on, of his own. Power of negotiation is not an individual against a corporation. An individual in the chain of command (union) is at the mercy of the other links of the chain. Taking away an the regulatory necessities that employers s
  14. Is someone suggesting that the mention of a union makes this post a suggestion that we should have a posters union? You are right with the wacko face, if that is the case, NC!
  15. You are right, LPPT! I don't have to tell you that your attitude is great, because You already know my attitude about yours. You missed one important thing about the intent of folks. I firmly believe that people need to support others with the things that they have learned in their own lives. I know there's a take it or leave it way of reacting to good advice, but even if only one person is helped it's not a waste of my energy. Consider MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers). They have experience what they are helping other Mothers with. If it had not been for Anne Sullivan, Helen K
  16. I know that's a fact, P M_D S! But, even that does not keep regulation, deregulation on the up and up. like we want it. we are bailing out the people who are getting more deregulation, and making other people suffer from to much regulation of their bargaining power. Individuals can't bargain with the people who have no regulation to consider.
  17. Of course it was a reenactment, Johnny but witnesses were many. This group of women had just lost a bid for union representation, and had had to go back to work under the conditions that they were protesting. I don't think you are old enough to remember the 1911 fire that killed 146 of these people. I have, indeed, been in a sowing factory. I witnessed better conditions than what was present in the 1911 Triangle factory in several many opinions of witnesses that were actually present at the time of the New York fire. I don't think deregulations is going to benefit people in the p
  18. Thank you so much, BL! Your attitude is one of the greatest attitudes I have ever witnessed. You also have a very tough skin. I admire you, a great deal. And, I consider your reply to my post an honor, to say the least of it. I believe a person who has such little tolerance for someone else's opinion has the problem; whatever the problem may be. All of my fellow citizens have the right to express their opinion whether it's a bad or a good one. Nothing is a proven fact, and everything is different in that it's a perception that has either been spoken or written down. The people w
  19. Thanks, Johnny! I have been studying the issue of deregulation, and I can't decide whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. It seems to me that their are people who would suffer from the particular kinds of deregulation. This issue was brought to my attention by a documentary I was reading about, which happened in 1911. I know you can handle posting, replying, or any other aspect of communication. I have a high regard, and a deep respect for your magnificent attitude. And, that's not saying too much for you to handle, either. But, some of my other fellow citizens may not have as
  20. I am wondering if people don't post, or reply, because they may be serious about an important issue, and they know they would be made fun of no matter how serious their issue is to them. Some people have the attitude, it seems, that these people should grow a tougher skin. But, what is the real reasoning for allowing people the freedom of expression without a deliberate attempt to suppress something that may be a serious issue to them. If these people grow a tougher skin, would their issues still be attacked by others? I have noticed that there are those who will make it their bu
  21. What does deregulation mean for us? Does it mean that we are capable of being regulated more, or less? A random drug test, at your work place, seems to me like more regulation; not less. Taking away our collective bargaining rights seems, to me, like more regulation; not less. Not being able to negotiate with the people we may be working 40 hours a week, or more, for seems to me like too much regulation; not less. What is your opinion?
  22. Intimidation can also kill you in many other ways. Some countries are run by intimidation, and other fear inducing practices. I was just reading a post, of my own. Intimidation did not take long to show its ways, and means, of intimidating. People don't know how to handle intimidation that is not a reasonable approach to issues at hand. Tell me what you think of the situation I experienced in a previous post I was involved in. paulding.com/.../264310-standing-up-speaking-out-and-talking-back-is-not-a-bad-thing/ You'll have to type it into GOOGLE. I can't get My link
  23. Your input is valuable, mrnn! I agree with what you first posted, and the part of this quote where you said, "avoiding bankruptcy at all costs. Thank you, for your input!
  24. A friend of mine told me, over the weekend, that there was a random drug test at his work place. I was shocked at this situation. I asked him did he consent to that, and he said he did. But, can an employer have you take a random drug test without your consent?
  25. I have no doubt, H W A M! If I wake up dead, I want it to be a complete surprise to me.
